AKG Acoustics WMS 40UHF User Manual

WMS 40 UHF
Wireless Microphone System
Description
The WMS 40 is an entry-level wireless system for applications requiring quality audio on a limited budget. It is ideal for small stages, clubs, houses of worship and hotels. The system operates in the UHF (ultra high frequency) range and uses advanced circuitry and SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filtering for trouble-free operation under difficult operating conditions. Up to four channels may be used simultaneously.
The utter simplicity of the system and its preset operating frequencies allow the user to “plug and play” the system immediately. Both types of transmitters are advanced lowcurrent design, providing more than 30 hours of operation on a single set of AA-size 1.5 volt batteries.
The SR40 receiver may be rack-mounted with the optional RMU60 kit. Indicators on the SR 40 include RF status, power and mute status. A squelch control ensures noise-free reception. A front panel output level control varies the output signal from microphone to line level; both professional XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch jacks are provided. Front panel indicators show RF status, power, and mute status.
The HT40 handheld transmitter uses the AKG D 880 microphone element, which provides wide range, linear response for all applications. Transmission operates in your choice of four frequencies, US54 at 710.400 mHz, US59 at
734.600 mHz, KR3 at 745.650 mHz and KR4 at 750.900 mHz. The transmitter provides ON/MUTE/OFF switching and battery status indication.
The PT 40 bodypack is made of rugged plastic and can be used with a wide variety of microphone models. All models in the AKG MicroMic III Series can be used with the PT 40, along with direct instrument pickup via the MK/GL instrument cable. The PT 40 has the same frequency assignments, operating controls and features as found on the HT 40.
