Share your Flash driver, USB HD, and CD-ROM
The MU-5000FS file server allow your USB storage device such as Flash Drive, MP3 player, DSC, USB HD and USB CD-ROM* to be shared on your local network or over the Internet. Unlike some competitor's solution that use the EXT.3 format that can't be read on Windows machine, the MU-5000FS use standard FAT32 format to allow cross platform compatibility. You can even support up to 8 USB devices when using USB HUBs (power adapter required).
Network Drive on Microsoft Network
The MU-5000FS features Samba capability allowing MU-5000FS to work in Microsoft Network environment. Clicking on "My Network" and the File Server will be visible on the Microsoft network. You can add any File sharing accounts with different access right for different users (Read/Write/Both/Open). Moreover, you can even assign any session as a network drive and access it as if it is a Hard Drive on your PC. Session can be the entire drive or just one sub-directory.
FTP Server for Remote Sharing
The MU-5000FS also offer a simple way to share files on the Internet. The built-in FTP server provide open or account access to let other users share the files easily. The remote users can just type the FTP command on the web browser or use FTP client software for easy sharing on the Internet. You can even define the access bandwidth to safeguard your Internet connection speed. (*note: the FTP server limit sharing to one directory only. The FTP and Samba have different access rules).

In addition, the WinXP UPnP support further simplify the setup process. The file server support multiple platforms including Win98/ME/NT/2K/XP, Linux SMB and Macintosh*.

The MU-5000FS feature an unique capability to download files from the Internet or your PC at the scheduled time. So it can backup your FTP and Web server content regularly and automatically. Now, you don't have to worry about your Internet server crashed and lost all the contents.
