Add capability, not complexity
The central theme in all our power products is one-box integration, which improves test results while cutting costs, complexity and rack size. These solutions are much easier to integrate, program and maintain in ATE systems. Because we specify and guarantee performance for the entire integrated system, you know exactly what to expect from your equipment (unlike systems assembled from individual pieces). And thanks to our industry-leading average MTBF of more than 100,000 hours, you can count on that power year after year.
People as dependable as the power
The experienced engineers at HP DIRECT understand that you have more important things to do than shop around for power supplies. We’ll help you select the right solutions for your application and your budget, then arrange fast shipping so you can get back to work in a hurry.
In a world where complexity reigns supreme, HP’s one-box power solutions might come as a pleasant surprise. We know you don’t want to spend your days (and nights) worrying about test system power. That’s our job. From basic dc supplies to compliance-test systems, we’ve reduced the number of components you need to integrate and simplified the process of delivering, controlling and measuring power.
From power supplies to power solutions
The mobile communications dc sources you’ll see on pages 2–3 are a great example of how HP power products deliver more while demanding less. To help you characterize the narrow current pulses characteristic of digital phones and other new wireless devices, these sources offer the peak measurement capability that once required an oscilloscope or highspeed digital voltmeter.
HP’s one-box solutions deliver the reliable capability of an integrated system for the price of a single box.

Realistic measurements of real-life product performance
HP’s mobile communications dc sources are designed for the unique challenges of simulating batteries in wireless phones and other battery-powered devices that draw current in short, pulsed bursts. Their fast and low voltage transient response minimizes device shutdown, ensuring maximum test-system throughput. Unlike the current readback feature in standard dc supplies, HP’s unique dynamic measurements work like a digital oscilloscope to capture the details you need to optimize power management in your products.
Precision power for high-confidence testing
By combining both high-level sourcing (up to 5 A peak) and fast, accurate low-level current measurements, these one-box solutions provide the vital tools for both R&D and production testing. The HP mobile communications dc sources include a new HP-developed technology that detects open sensewire connections. This feature helps to prevent inaccurate test results, incorrect battery charger calibration and low voltage phone shut down. The completely linear design ensures noise levels as low as 300 µV and greatly reduces the chance of interference with your RF tests.
Price/performance choices to match your unique leads
From the new low-cost HP 66111A to the dual-output HP 66309D, this family of solutions lets you choose the right
tool for the job. All models offer built-in HP-IB connectivity, with programming response times as fast as 400 µs to maximize manufacturing throughput.
A rack’s worth of capability in a single box
With the ability to measure instantaneous values, these supplies eliminate the cost and hassle of an oscilloscope or high-speed digital voltmeter (not to mention the shunt, multiplexer, cables and all the other gear you would need). Now you can catch and characterize those critical pulses with just your power supply.

Implement faster ATE solutions in less time
With the HP 6800 Series approach to power supply design, all the tools you need to control, deliver and measure dc power are built right into the supply. The one-box solution with integrated readback eliminates the voltmeters, shunts and other add-ons you normally need, while reducing your programming and maintenance chores.
Built-in HP-IB provides full control and readback, and Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) eliminate the most tedious part of program development. And the speed advantage continues when your system goes online. Output programming response times are as low as 15 ms.
Production tests are only as good as the power that drives them
With all the time, money and energy you invest in test systems, it only makes sense to employ the best power you can buy. Fortunately, the clean, stable power offered with the valuepriced HP 6600 Series makes it easy to buy the best. Even the high-power 2 kW and 5 kW supplies deliver low ripple and noise with tight line and load regulation.

Flexibility
The HP Solar Array Simulators (SAS) help satellite manufacturers simulate the electrical characteristics of solar arrays while developing and testing satellites on earth. The simulator’s programming flexibility helps you characterize a solar array’s electrical curves in three easy ways: (1) Develop tables of I-V pairs for various environments or download exact points from the panel manufacturer. (2) Enter Isc, Voc, and V and I at maximum power to generate the curve from an internal algorithm. (3) Use fixed mode to get the I-V output of a standard supply with the high-speed current characteristics and low capacitance that solar arrays require.
The benefits of a one-box solution
Since the HP SAS generates the curve internally, you save time, money, and rack space. No external components are needed to characterize the solar array. Internal programmable protection features reduce the risk of damage to the spacecraft. The one-box solution simplifies the complexity of system integration if you choose to integrate the system yourself. If you would like a complete integrated system, HP can meet that need, too.
Two standard models
To meet present and future requirements, we’ve added a second standard model at 480 W with Voc=130 Vdc (E4351B) to our present 480 W, Voc=65 Vdc model (E4350B). Both models come with a three-year standard warranty and HP’s worldwide network of support and service centers.

Product highlights

• High power density— up to eight supplies with 1200 W of power in seven inche s of rack space
•Low noise, stable power
• Accurate output current measurements
• Advanced programming capabilities with output sequencing and precise triggering
The simple way to integrate multiple power sources
With ATE rack space at a premium, the HP 66000 modular power system’s growing popularity is no surprise. A single mainframe can hold up to eight modules, and you can choose from six modules with voltage ranges up to 200 V and current ranges up to 16 A.
The HP 66000 is easier to integrate and maintain, too. You can control up to 16 supplies from a single HP-IB address. To reconfigure, just plug in whatever combination of modules you need.
One-box integration can boost test throughput, too. Rather than having the system controller make every current and voltage setting on every output, just download the parameters you want, send it a hardware or software trigger, and let the HP 66000’s output sequencing do the rest.
Modular convenience, dedicated performance
You won’t sacrifice performance or reliability to get the advantages of modularity, either. The HP 66000 boasts programming accuracy as tight as 0.03% + 3 mV and
0.03% + 400 µA and readback accuracy down to 0.02% + 2 mV and 0.02% + 300 µA. And the output power is rock solid, with ripple and noise as low as 2 mVrms and 5 mVp– p.
Programmable overvoltage and overcurrent protection and thermal protection keep the power system and your test devices safe, while HP’s reliability and the three-year warranty protect your investment.

The value of one-box electronic loads
HP’s integrated electronic loads help you save time, money and rack space while delivering precise control and all the capabilities you need for analyzing dc power sources and devices. Choose a single-input unit (HP 6060B or 6063B) or a modular mainframe (the 6-slot HP 6050A or the 2-slot HP 6051A) to configure a solution for your specific needs.
With precise control of current, voltage and resistance, you can establish just about any load profile you need. The programmable pulse transient generator lets you define loading amplitude, frequency, duty cycle and slew rate. The analog programming capability allows you to create custom loading waveforms that simulate real-life conditions.
