ADC Compact DICOM Store Connection
The DICOM standard communication protocol is becoming
increasingly widely used for connecting the various medical
devices in the Radiology Department. Amongst other things,
DICOM establishes a standard for image transmission and
associated information transfers between modalities, archives
and workstations.
Optimal inter-connectivity is ensured by the establishment of
uniform semantics, the defining of conformance requirements
and the use of existing international standards wherever
applicable. Moreover, DICOM facilitates network operations
without the need for extensive extra hardware, and improves
support for future medical applications by accommodating the
introduction of new connectivity services.
ADC includes an image export function that fully conforms to the
DICOM CR Image Storage Service Class
(1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.1) as a Service Class User (SCU). This
export function allows ADC to transfer CR images efficiently and
reliably to any device conforming to the CR Image Storage
Service Class as a Service Class Provider (SCP). See the ADC
DICOM Conformance Statement for full details.
