Press the ON/OFF switch (5) inwards,
0
the pilot lamp (6) lights up and the appliance starts heating.

The automatic switch off
The kettle will switch itself off automatically and the pilot light will go out when the water has boiled.
If you want to interrupt the boiling cycle before it switches off automatically, simply press the ON/OFF switch (5) or lift the kettle. If you want to reheat water which has already been heated, press the ON/OFF button again (5). When the water is boiling the kettle switches itself off automatically.
Limescale filter
The limescale filter (7) in the spout retains any limescale residues in the kettle.
To remove the limescale filter, push it

downwards on the top cover. To fit the limescale filter, insert it into
0
the spout and pull upwards on the cover until it engages.
Safety system
All Electrolux kettles are equipped with a boil-dry safety cut-out. This feature protects the appliance from overheating when started without water or from boiling until it is empty if used with the lid open. If the appliance is accidently switched on without water, it is automatically protected against overheating. The heating process is automatically interrupted. Before using the kettle again let it cool down for 5-10 minutes.
