Bewahren Sie bitte die Gebrauchsanweisung zum späteren Nachschlagen auf. Geben Sie sie an eventuelle Nachbesitzer des Gerätes weiter.

Diese Gebrauchsanweisung ist für mehrere technisch vergleichbare Modelle mit unterschiedlicher Ausstattung bestimmt. Beachten Sie bitte nur die Hinweise, die Ihre Geräteausführung betreffen.

1 Sicherheit

Die Sicherheit unserer Kältegeräte entspricht den anerkannten Regeln der Technik und dem Gerätesicherheitsgesetz. Dennoch sehen wir uns veranlaßt, Sie mit folgenden Sicherheitshinweisen vertraut zu machen:

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

• Das Kältegerät ist für die Verwendung im Haushalt bestimmt. Es eignet sich zum Kühlen, Einfrieren und Tiefkühllagern von Lebensmitteln sowie zur Eisbereitung. Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet oder falsch bedient, kann vom Hersteller keine Haftung für eventuelle Schäden übernommen werden.

• Umbauten oder Veränderungen am Kältegerät sind aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht zulässig.

• Sollten Sie das Kältegerät gewerblich oder für andere Zwecke als zum Kühlen, Einfrieren und Tiefkühllagern von Lebensmitteln benutzen, beachten Sie bitte die für Ihren Bereich gültigen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme

• Überprüfen Sie das Kältegerät auf Transportschäden. Ein beschädigtes Gerät auf keinen Fall anschließen! Wenden Sie sich im Schadensfall bitte an den Lieferanten.

• Bitte prüfen, dass das Netzkabel nicht von der Geräterückseite eingeklemmt und beschädigt wird. Ein beschädigtes Netzkabel kann überhitzen und einen Brand verursachen.

• Den Netzstecker niemals in eine lockere oder beschädigte Steckdose stecken. Stromschlag- und Brandgefahr!

Kältemittel

Das Gerät enthält im Kältemittelkreislauf das Kältemittel Isobutan (R600a), ein Naturgas mit hoher Umweltverträglichkeit, das jedoch brennbar ist.

• Warnung - Achten Sie beim Transportieren und Aufstellen des Gerätes darauf, daß keine Teile des Kältemittelkreislaufs beschädigt werden.

• Bei Beschädigung des Kältemittelkreislaufs: – offenes Feuer und Zündquellen unbedingt vermeiden; – den Raum, in dem das Gerät steht, gut durchlüften.

Sicherheit

Sicherheit von Kindern

• Verpackungsteile (z. B. Folien, Styropor) können für Kinder gefährlich sein. Erstickungsgefahr! Verpackungsmaterial von Kindern fernhalten!

• Ausgediente Altgeräte bitte vor der Entsorgung unbrauchbar machen. Netzstecker ziehen, Netzkabel durchtrennen, eventuell vorhandene Schnapp- oder Riegelschlösser entfernen oder zerstören. Dadurch verhindern Sie, daß sich spielende Kinder im Gerät einsperren (Erstikkungsgefahr!) oder in andere lebensgefährliche Situationen geraten.

• Kinder können Gefahren, die im Umgang mit Haushaltsgeräten liegen, oft nicht erkennen. Sorgen Sie deshalb für die notwendige Aufsicht und lassen Sie Kinder nicht mit dem Gerät spielen! Weisen Sie Kinder auf mögliche Gefahren hin und weisen Sie sie in den korrekten Gebrauch des Gerätes ein.

Im Alltagsbetrieb

• Behälter mit brennbaren Gasen oder Flüssigkeiten können durch Kälteeinwirkung undicht werden. Explosionsgefahr! Lagern Sie keine Behälter mit brennbaren Stoffen, wie z.B. Spraydosen, FeuerzeugNachfüllkartuschen etc. im Kältegerät.

• Flaschen und Dosen dürfen nicht in den Gefrierraum. Sie können springen, wenn der Inhalt gefriert - bei kohlensäurehaltigem Inhalt sogar explodieren! Legen Sie nie Limonaden, Säfte, Bier, Wein, Sekt usw. in den Gefrierraum. Ausnahme: Hochprozentige Spirituosen können im Gefrierraum gelagert werden.

• Speiseeis und Eiswürfel nicht unmittelbar aus dem Gefrierraum in den Mund nehmen. Sehr kaltes Eis kann an Lippen oder Zunge festfrieren und Verletzungen verursachen. Weisen Sie Kinder auf diese Gefahr hin!

• Tiefkühlgut nicht mit nassen Händen berühren. Die Hände könnten daran festfrieren.

• Warnung - Keine Elektrogeräte (z. B. elektrische Eismaschinen, Rührgeräte etc.) im Kältegerät betreiben, die nicht vom Hersteller freigegeben wurden.

• Warnung - Um die Funktion des Gerätes nicht zu beeinträchtigen, dürfen die Lüftungsöffnungen der Geräteverkleidungen oder des Aufbaus von Einbaumöbeln nicht abgedeckt oder zugestellt werden.

• Warnung - Um den Abtauvorgang zu beschleunigen, keine mechanischen oder künstlichen Hilfsmittel verwenden, als die vom Hersteller empfohlenen.

• Vor Reinigungsarbeiten das Gerät grundsätzlich abschalten und den Netzstecker ziehen oder Sicherung in der Wohnung abschalten bzw. herausdrehen.

• Oben auf dem Gerät abgelegte gefrorene Ware kann dazu führen, daß sich durch die Kälte im Hohlraum der Ablageplatte Kondenswasser bildet. In diesem Hohlraum sind elektronische Bauteile untergebracht. Falls Kondenswasser auf diese Bauteile tropft, kann ein Kurzschluß das Gerät beschädigen. Legen Sie deshalb keine gefrorene Ware oben auf das Gerät.

• Den Netzstecker nie am Kabel aus der Steckdose ziehen. Eine Beschädigung des Netzkabels kann Kurzschluss, Feuer und/oder Stromschlag verursachen.

• Keine schweren Gegenstände oder das Gerät selbst auf das Netzkabel stellen. Kurzschluss- und Brandgefahr!

• Ein beschädigtes Netzkabel muß durch eine qualifizierte Fachkraft oder vom Kundendienst ersetzt werden.

Im Störungsfall

• Sollte einmal eine Störung am Gerät auftreten, sehen Sie bitte zuerst in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung unter "Was tun, wenn ..." nach. Falls die dort aufgeführten Hinweise nicht weiterhelfen, führen Sie bitte keine weiteren Arbeiten selbst aus.

• Kältegeräte dürfen nur von Fachkräften repariert werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren entstehen. Wenden Sie sich im Reparaturfall bitte an Ihren Fachhändler oder an unseren Kundendienst.

Entsorgung

Verpackungsmaterial

Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind umweltverträglich und wiederverwertbar. Die Kunststoffteile sind gekennzeichnet, z. B. >PE<, >PS< etc. Entsorgen Sie die Verpackungsmaterialien entsprechend ihrer Kennzeichnung bei den kommunalen Entsorgungsstellen in den dafür vorgesehenen Sammelbehältern.

2 Altgerät

Das Symbol hin, dass dieses Produkt nicht als normaler Haushaltsabfall zu behandeln ist, sondern an einem Sammelpunkt für das Recycling von elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten abgegeben werden muss. Durch Ihren Beitrag zum korrekten Entsorgen dieses Produkts schützen Sie die

W auf dem Produkt oder seiner Verpackung weist darauf

Umwelt und die Gesundheit Ihrer Mitmenschen. Umwelt und Gesundheit werden durch falsches Entsorgen gefährdet. Weitere Informationen über das Recycling dieses Produkts erhalten Sie von Ihrem Rathaus, Ihrer Müllabfuhr oder dem Geschäft, in dem Sie das Produkt gekauft haben.

Warnung! Ausgediente Altgeräte bitte vor der Entsorgung unbrauch-

Entsorgungshinweise:

• Das Gerät darf nicht mit dem Haus- oder Sperrmüll entsorgt werden.

• Der Kältemittelkreislauf, insbesondere der Wärmetauscher an der Geräterückseite, darf nicht beschädigt werden.

• Auskunft über Abholtermine oder Sammelplätze erhalten Sie bei der örtlichen Stadtreinigung oder der Gemeindeverwaltung.

Gerät transportieren

Um das Gerät zu transportieren sind zwei Personen erforderlich. Zum besseren Greifen sind hinten an der Geräteoberseite zwei Eingriffe vorhanden. Vor dem Transport muß die Sockelblende abgenommen werden, um Schäden zu vermeiden.

0 1. Sockelblende zum Lösen aus der

Arretierung nach unten kippen und dann nach vorn abnehmen. Achtung: Türkontakt (falls vorhanden) nicht beschädigen.

2. In die Eingriffe an den in der Abbildung dargestellten Positionen greifen und Gerät transportieren.

3. Um das Gerät an den endgültigen Standort zu schieben, vorsichtig oben an die obere Tür drücken und das Gerät etwas nach hinten kippen. Das Gewicht wird dadurch auf die hinteren Rollen verlagert, wodurch sich das Gerät leicht schieben läßt.

4. Wenn das Gerät am gewünschten Platz steht, Sockelblende aufsetzen. Die Haken der Sockelblende

in die Aussparungen an der Unterkante des Gerätesockels einhaken und die Sockelblende in die rich-

tige Position drücken. Darauf achten, daß der Türkontakt (falls vorhanden) nicht beschädigt wird und in die entsprechende Öffnung an der Sockelblende eingreift.

Transportschutz entfernen

Das Gerät sowie Teile der Innenausstattung sind für den Transport geschützt.

0 1. Alle Klebebänder sowie Polsterteile aus dem Geräteinnenraum entfer-

nen. Eventuelle Kleberückstände können Sie mit Reinigungs- oder Wasch-

benzin entfernen.

2. An den Türinnenseiten die Dichtungsschutzteile von der Türdichtung entfernen.

3. Transportschutzteil am Türlager bei geöffneter Tür herausnehmen.

4. Sicherungsteile bis zur Verdickung am Rand der Abstellfläche nach vorn schieben.

5. Abstellfläche hinten anheben und zusammen mit den Sicherungsteilen so weit nach vorn ziehen, bis sie sich nach unten abschwenken läßt und die Sicherungsteile aus den Führungen genommen werden können.

Türgriffe montieren

Um Verpackungs- und Transportvolumen möglichst gering zu halten, sind die Türgriffe bei Lieferung nicht montiert.

Vorsicht! Schrauben nicht zu fest anziehen (max 2 Nm), die Türgriffe

könnten beschädigt werden. Die Griffstangen befinden sich separat verpackt an den Polsterteilen vor der Tür, die Griffträger und Schrauben innen im Gerät. Zur Montage das Gerät gegebenenfalls vorsichtig auf den Rücken legen. Ein Polsterteil oder eine Decke als Unterlage verwenden.

Aufstellen

Aufstellort

Das Gerät soll in einem gut belüfteten und trockenen Raum stehen. Die Umgebungstemperatur wirkt sich auf den Stromverbrauch und die

einwandfreie Funktion des Gerätes aus. Daher sollte das Gerät – nicht direkter Sonneneinstrahlung ausgesetzt sein; – nicht an Heizkörpern, neben einem Herd oder sonstigen Wärmequel-

len stehen;

– nur an einem Ort stehen, dessen Umgebungstemperatur der Klima-

klasse entspricht, für die das Gerät ausgelegt ist.

Die Klimaklasse finden Sie auf dem Typschild, das sich links im Innenraum des Gerätes befindet.

Nachstehende Tabelle zeigt, welche Umgebungstemperatur welcher Klimaklasse zugeordnet ist:

Ist die Aufstellung neben einer Wärmequelle unvermeidbar, sind folgende seitliche Mindestabstände einzuhalten: – zu Elektroherden 3 cm; – zu Öl- und Kohleherden 30 cm. Können diese Abstände nicht eingehalten werden, ist eine Wärmeschutzplatte zwischen Herd und Kältegerät erforderlich.

Steht das Gerät neben einem anderen Kühl- oder Gefriergerät, wird ein seitlicher Abstand von 5 cm empfohlen, damit sich an den Geräteaußenseiten kein Schwitzwasser bildet.

An der Türlagerseite ist ein Mindestabstand von 36 cm zur Wand erforderlich, um zur Entnahme der Innenausstattung die Tür weit genug öffnen zu können.

Aufstellen

Das Kältegerät braucht Luft

Die Luftzuführung erfolgt unter der Tür durch die Lüftungsschlitze im Sockel, die Entlüftung entlang der Rückwand nach oben. Damit die Luft zirkulieren kann, diese Lüftungsöffnungen niemals abdecken oder verstellen.

Achtung! Falls das Gerät z. B. unter einem Oberschrank aufgestellt wird, muß ein Abstand von mindestens 10 cm zwischen Oberkante Gerät und dem darüber angebrachten Möbel eingehalten werden.

Elektrischer Anschluß

Für den elektrischen Anschluß ist eine vorschriftsmäßig installierte Schutzkontakt-Steckdose erforderlich. Die elektrische Absicherung muß mindestens 10 Ampere betragen. Ist die Steckdose nach dem Aufstellen des Geräts nicht mehr zugänglich, muß eine geeignete Maßnahme in der Elektroinstallation sicherstellen, daß das Gerät vom Netz getrennt werden kann (z. B. Sicherung, LS-Schalter, Fehlerstrom-Schutzschalter oder dergleichen mit einer Kontaktöffnungsweite von mindestens 3 mm).

Warnung: Auf keinen Fall darf das Gerät an elektronische „Energiesparstecker“ und an Wechselrichter, die Gleichstrom in 230 V Wechselstrom umwandeln, angeschlossen werden (z. B. Solaranlagen, Schiffsnetze).

Kohlefilter

In der Rückwand des Kühlraumes befindet sich ein Aktivkohlefilter. Der Kohlefilter reinigt die Luft im Kühl- und im LONGFRESH 0°C Kaltraum durch Bindung unangenehmer Gerüche. Hinweis: Der Aktivkohlefilter ist ein Verschleißteil und fällt nicht unter die Garantieleistungen.

Einsetzen und Wechseln des Aktivkohlefilters:

Bei Lieferung des Kühlschranks ist der Kohlefilter in einer Plastiktüte verpackt, um eine lange Lebensdauer zu gewährleisten. Vor Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes muß der Kohlefilter hinter dem Luftauslaßgitter eingesetzt werden. Bei Normalbetrieb des Kühlschranks sollte der Kohlefilter einmal pro Jahr ausgewechselt werden, um seine optimale Funktion zu gewährleisten. Neue Kohlefilter sind beim Fachhändler oder beim Kundendienst erhältlich.

0 1. Zum Öffnen des Gitters den Hebel rechts

neben dem Gitter drücken (1) und das Gitter nach vorn aufklappen (2).

2. Zum wechseln alten Kohlefilter aus der Schiene herausziehen (3).

3. Den neuen Kohlefilter in die Schiene des Gitters einsetzen (3) und Gitter zudrücken, bis es einrastet.

Vorsicht beim Hantieren mit dem Filter, um

Gerätebeschreibung

Tasten zur Temperatureinstellung

Die Temperatureinstellung erfolgt durch die Tasten „+“ (WÄRMER) und „-“ (KÄLTER).

Die Tasten stehen in Verbindung mit der Temperaturanzeige.

• Durch Druck auf eine der beiden Tasten „+“ (WÄRMER) oder „-“ (KÄL-

TER) wird die Temperaturanzeige von der IST-Temperatur (Temperaturanzeige leuchtet) auf die SOLL-Temperatur (Temperaturanzeige blinkt) umgeschaltet.

• Mit jedem weiteren Druck auf eine der beiden Tasten wird die SOLL-

Temperatur um 1 °C weiter gestellt.

• Wird keine Taste gedrückt, schaltet die Temperaturanzeige nach kur-

zer Zeit (ca. 4 sec.) automatisch wieder auf die IST-Temperatur zurück.

SOLL-Temperatur bedeutet: Die Temperatur, die im Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraum vorhanden sein soll. Die SOLL-Temperatur wird durch blinkende Zahlen angezeigt.

Gerätebeschreibung

IST-Temperatur bedeutet: Die Temperaturanzeige zeigt die Temperatur an, die momentan tatsächlich im Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraum vorhanden ist. Die IST-Temperatur wird durch leuchtende Zahlen angezeigt.

Temperaturanzeige

Die Temperaturanzeige kann mehrere Informationen anzeigen.

• Bei normalem Betrieb wird im Kühlraum die Durchschnitts-Tempera-

tur angezeigt (IST-Temperatur). Die Temperaturschwankungen sind im gesamten Kühlraum gering.

• Im Gefrierraum wird die wärmste Temperatur angezeigt (IST-Tempe-

ratur). Bei Vollbeladung befindet sich die wärmste Zone üblicherweise oben im vorderen Bereich des Gefrierraums. Je nach Beladung sind die Temperaturen in anderen Bereichen des Gefrierraumes niedriger.

• Während der Temperatureinstellung wird die im Moment eingestellte

Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraumtemperatur blinkend angezeigt (SOLL-Temperatur). Hinweis: Bei Änderung der Temperaturvorgabe ca. 24 Stunden abwarten, bis sich die Temperaturanzeige stabilisiert hat.

• Bei Temperatur-Warnung zeigt die Temperaturanzeige bei Betätigung

der RESET-Taste für 5 Sekunden die wärmste Temperatur an, auf die sich das Gefriergut erwärmt hat.

• Liegt eine Störung am Gerät vor, so erscheint in der Temperatur-

anzeige: – ein Quadrat in der Temperaturanzeige für den Kühlraum für eine

Störung im Kühlraum;

– ein Quadrat in der Temperaturanzeige für den Gefrierraum für eine

Störung im Gefrierraum.

MODE-Taste

Mit der MODE-Taste können verschiedene Betriebsarten

eingestellt werden. Folgende Betriebsarten stehen zur Auswahl: – SHOPPING: Kühlraumtemperatur-Vorgabe 3 °C für 6 Stunden, Küh-

lung für Gefrierraum läuft für 1 Stunde im Dauerbetrieb.

– FROSTMATIC: Kühlung für Gefrierraum läuft für 52 Stunden im

Dauerbetrieb.

– COOLMATIC: Kühlraumtemperatur-Vorgabe 3 °C für 6 Stunden.

– FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC:

Kühlung für Gefrierraum läuft für 52 Stunden im Dauerbetrieb, Kühlraumtemperatur-Vorgabe 3 °C für 6 Stunden.

– HOLIDAY: Kühlraumtemperatur-Vorgabe 14 °C (inclusive

LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum).

– : Normalbetrieb entsprechend eingestellter SOLL-Tempe-

raturen.

0 1. MODE-Taste 1x drücken. Im Display wird die Betriebsart SHOPPING

blinkend angezeigt.

2. Nach ca. 4 Sekunden hört die Anzeige auf zu blinken, die Betriebsart SHOPPING ist eingestellt.

3. Soll eine andere Betriebsart eingestellt werden, vor Ablauf von jeweils 4 Sekunden die MODE-Taste so oft drücken, bis die gewünschte Betriebsart im Display angezeigt wird. Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden hört die Anzeige auf zu blinken, die Betriebsart ist eingestellt. Wird die MODETaste erneut gedrückt, erscheint die nächste Betriebsart in der Anzeige.

Um zum Normalbetrieb zurückzukehren, die MODE-Taste so oft drü-

cken, bis im Display keine Worte („ “) erscheinen.

Textanzeige

In der Textanzeige erscheinen die Begriffe für die verschiedenen mit der MODE-Taste einstellbaren Betriebsarten sowie für Alarm, Netzausfall oder Funktionsstörung.

• Betriebsarten: SHOPPING, FROSTMATIC, COOLMATIC, FROSTMATIC

and COOLMATIC, HOLIDAY, leeres Feld bei Normalbetrieb.

• Alarm: DOOR OPEN bei zu lange geöffneten Gerätetüren, TEMPERA-

TURE bei Temperaturalarm

• Nach Netzausfall: Anzeige POWER

• Funktionsstörung: Anzeige SERVICE

RESET-Taste

Mit der RESET-Taste kann das akustische Warnsignal abgestellt werden, z. B. die „Offene Tür“-Warnung beim längeren Ein- oder Umräumen von Gefriergut.

Bei Temperatur-Warnung zeigt die Temperaturanzeige bei Betätigung der RESET-Taste für 5 Sekunden die wärmste Temperatur an, auf die sich das Gefriergut erwärmt hat.

Vor Inbetriebnahme

Lassen Sie das Gerät vor Anschluß an das Netz und vor der ersten Inbe-

triebnahme 30 Minuten stehen, wenn es aufrecht transportiert wurde. Nach liegendem Transport muß das Gerät vor Inbetriebnahme 4 Stunden stehen, damit das Öl zum Kompressor zurückfließen kann. Andernfalls könnte der Kompressor beschädigt werden.

0 1. Das Geräteinnere und alle Ausstattungsteile bitte vor Erstinbetrieb-

nahme reinigen (siehe Abschnitt "Reinigung und Pflege").

2. Das Gerät muss, bevor es das erste Mal in Betrieb genommen wird, anhand des Kapitels „Aufstellen“ korrekt aufgestellt werden. Insbesondere ist darauf zu achten, dass die vorhandene Netzspannung und Netzfrequenz mit den Daten des Gerätes übereinstimmen.

3. Den Kälteakku aus dem Gerät nehmen.

4. Den Kälteakku erst nach Erreichen der optimalen Lagertemperatur von

-18 °C in eine Schublade legen und gefrieren lassen.

5. Nach ca. 24 Stunden den Kälteakku dann vorne in der obersten Schublade einlegen.

6. Aufgetauten Kälteakku bitte auf die gleiche Weise wieder einfrieren, z. B. nach Reinigung des Gerätes.

Inbetriebnahme

0 1. Netzstecker in die Steckdose stecken.

2. Taste EIN/AUS gedrückt halten. Die Temperaturanzeige und die Hinterleuchtung leuchten auf, das Gerät läuft an. Ein Warnton ertönt, im Display erscheint TEMPERATURE und eine blinkende rote Hinterleuchtung.

3. Warnton und rote Hinterleuchtung mit Taste RESET abschalten. Die Anzeige TEMPERATURE erlischt, wenn die Temperatur im Gerät unter die Warntemperatur abgesunken ist.

Werksseitig vorgegebene Temperatureinstellung: +5 °C für den Kühl-

raum, -18 °C für den Gefrierraum.

4. Gewünschte Temperatur für den Kühlraum einstellen (Siehe Abschnitt „Temperatur enstellen“).

Da die Lagertemperatur im Kühlraum schnell erreicht wird, können Sie

kurz nach dem Einschalten Kühlgut einlagern.

5. Temperatur für den Gefrierraum auf -18 °C oder kälter einstellen (Siehe Abschnitt „Temperatur enstellen“).

Wichtig! Warten Sie mit dem Einlagern von Gefriergut, bis die Gefrier-

raumtemperatur -18 °C erreicht hat.

Temperatur einstellen

Mit den jeweiligen Tasten zur Temperatureinstellung können die Temperaturen im Kühlraum und Gefrierraum unabhängig voneinander eingestellt werden.

Im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum wird die Temperatur automatisch geregelt.

Sie bleibt konstant nahe 0 °C, eine Einstellung ist nicht erforderlich. Hinweis: Ihr Gerät ist mit einer dynamischen Umluftkühlung für den Kühlraum und den LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum ausgestattet. Daraus ergeben sich unterschiedlich wahrnehmbare Ventilatorgeräusche. Dies ist normal, eine Störung oder ein Defekt liegt nicht vor.

0 1.Auf eine der Tasten „+“ (WÄRMER) oder „-“ (KÄLTER) für den Kühl- bzw.

Gefrierraum drücken. Die Temperaturanzeige schaltet um und zeigt blinkend die momentan eingestellte SOLL-Temperatur an.

2. Gewünschte Temperatur durch Drücken der Tasten „+“ (WÄRMER) und „-“ (KÄLTER) für den Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraum einstellen (siehe Abschnitt "Tasten zur Temperatureinstellung"). Die Temperaturanzeige zeigt sofort die geänderte Einstellung an. Mit jedem Tastendruck wird die Temperatur um 1 °C weitergestellt. Einstellbarer Temperaturbereich: Kühlraum +3 °C bis +8 °C, (HOLIDAY: 14 °C) Gefrierraum: -15 °C bis -24 °C

Für den Kühlraum sind +5 °C und für den Gefrierraum -18 °C als aus-

reichend kalte Lagertemperatur anzusehen.

3. Wenn nach erfolgter Temperatureinstellung die Tasten nicht mehr gedrückt werden, schaltet die Temperaturanzeige nach kurzer Zeit (ca. 5 sec.) um und zeigt wieder die momentan im Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraum vorhandene IST-Temperatur an. Die Anzeige wechselt von blinkenden zu leuchtenden Ziffern. Hinweis: Bei Änderung der Einstellung läuft der Kompressor nicht sofort an, wenn gerade automatisch abgetaut wird.

Die Displaybeleuchtung schaltet sich bei Betätigung einer beliebigen Taste ein. Wird keine Taste gedrückt, schaltet sich die Displaybeleuchtung nach ca. 1 Min. ab.

Achtung! Bitte regelmäßig an den Warnanzeigen und an der Temperaturanzeige das Einhalten der Lagertemperatur überprüfen.

Hinweis:

Die Einstellung des Geräts kann bei gezogenem Netzstecker oder fehlender Stromversorgung nicht geändert werden. Nach Anschluß an das Stromnetz nimmt das Gerät wieder den Zustand an, den es bei Netzunterbrechung hatte.

Betriebsarten

Mit der Taste MODE können verschiedene Betriebsarten gewählt werden. Die Betriebsarten werden nach entsprechender Dauer automatisch abgeschaltet, können aber jederzeit auch manuell beendet werden. Dazu die Taste MODE so oft drücken, bis im Display keine Worte mehr erscheinen. Nach Ablauf der Betriebsarten läuft das Gerät mit den zuvor eingestellten SOLL-Temperaturen weiter.

Solange die Ziffern der Temperaturanzeige nach Einstellung der SOLL-

Temperatur noch blinken, kann mit der MODE-Taste noch keine Betriebsart eingestellt werden.

SHOPPING

Die Funktion SHOPPING eignet sich zum schnellen Abkühlen größerer Kühlgutmengen im Kühlraum, sowie

kleinerer Mengen Gefriergut im Gefrierraum, z. B. nach einem größeren Einkauf. Dabei wird für den Kühlraum für 6 Stunden automatisch eine SOLLTemperatur von +3 °C vorgegeben. Die Kühlung im Gefrierraum läuft für 1 Stunde im Dauerbetrieb.

Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden ist die Betriebsart SHOPPING aktiviert, die Anzeige SHOPPING leuchtet. Beide Thermometer-Anzeigen im Display stellen eine sinkende Temperatursäule dar. Die SHOPPING-Funktion wird nach 6 Stunden automatisch abgeschaltet. Die Anzeige SHOPPING erlischt.

FROSTMATIC

Die FROSTMATIC-Funktion beschleunigt das Einfrieren frischer Lebensmittel und schützt gleichzeitig die

bereits eingelagerte Ware vor unerwünschter Erwärmung. Die Kühlung des Gefrierraums läuft für ca. 52 Stunden im Dauerbetrieb.

0 1. Die Taste MODE so oft drücken, bis im Display FROSTMATIC blinkt.

Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden ist die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC aktiviert, die Anzeige FROSTMATIC leuchtet. Die Thermometer-Anzeige im Display für den Gefrierraum stellt eine sinkende Temperatursäule dar. Die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC wird je nach Beladung spätestens nach ca. 52 Stunden automatisch abgeschaltet. Die Anzeige FROSTMATIC erlischt.

Betriebsarten

COOLMATIC

Die Betriebsart COOLMATIC eignet sich zum schnellen Abkühlen größerer Kühlgutmengen im Kühlraum, z. B. Getränke, Salate anläßlich einer Party oder Hochzeit.

0 1. Die Taste MODE so oft drücken, bis im Display COOLMATIC blinkt.

Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden ist die Betriebsart COOLMATIC aktiviert, die Anzeige COOLMATIC leuchtet. Die Thermometer-Anzeige im Display für den Kühlraum stellt eine sinkende Temperatursäule dar. Die COOLMATIC-Funktion sorgt jetzt für intensives Kühlen. Dabei wird automatisch eine SOLL-Temperatur von +3 °C vorgegeben. Nach Ablauf von 6 Stunden wird die COOLMATIC-Funktion selbsttätig beendet. Die ursprünglich eingestellte SOLL-Temperatur ist dann wieder maßgebend. und die Temperaturanzeige zeigt die aktuelle Kühlraumtemperatur.

FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC

Bei der Kombination der Funktionen FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC wird für den Kühlraum für 6 Stunden automatisch eine SOLL-Temperatur von +3 °C vorgegeben. Die Kühlung im Gefrierraum läuft für 52 Stunden im Dauerbetrieb.

0 1. Die Taste MODE so oft drücken, bis im Display gleichzeitig FROSTMATIC

und COOLMATIC blinken. Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden ist die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC aktiviert, die Anzeigen FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC leuchten. Beide Thermometer-Anzeigen im Display stellen eine sinkende Temperatursäule dar. Die Funktion FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC wird automatisch abgeschaltet: COOLMATIC nach 6 Stunden, FROSTMATIC nach spätestens 52 Stunden. Die Anzeigen erlöschen entsprechend.

HOLIDAY

In der Betriebsart HOLIDAY (Urlaubsschaltung) beträgt die SOLL-Temperaturvorgabe für den Kühlraum und den LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum +14 °C. Sie haben dadurch die Möglichkeit – ohne daß es zu einer Geruchs- oder Schimmelbildung kommt – bei längerer Abwesenheit (z.B. Urlaub) den leeren Kühlraum statt offen auch geschlossen zu halten. Vorteil: Unbeabsichtigtes Zufallen der Tür bzw. versehentliches Zudrücken der Tür durch Personen, die während Ihrer Abwesenheit Zutritt zu Ihren Wohnräumen haben, ist nicht mehr möglich. Ohne die Urlaubsschaltung würde dies Geruchs- und Schimmelbildung zur Folge haben.

0 1. Zum Einschalten der Urlaubsschaltung die Taste MODE so oft drücken,

bis im Display HOLIDAY blinkt. Nach Ablauf von ca. 4 Sekunden ist die Betriebsart HOLIDAY aktiviert, die Anzeige HOLIDAY leuchtet.

Achtung! Lagern Sie keine Ware im Kühlraum, während die Urlaubsschaltung in Betrieb ist. Die Temperatur bei Urlaubsschaltung wird auf ca. +14 °C geregelt. Dies ist zu warm für Lebensmittel.

Wenn während der Abwesendheit die Raumtemperatur für einen längeren Zeitraum unter 15 °C absinken könnte, sollte der Kühlraum nicht in der Betriebsart HOLIDAY betrieben, sondern abgeschaltet und die Tür geöffnet werden.

Um den Kühlraum wieder auf Normalbetrieb umzuschalten, die Taste

MODE so oft drücken, bis im Display keine Worte mehr erscheinen.

Gerät abschalten

Wenn der Gefrierschrank ausgeschaltet wird, dann schaltet auch der

Kühlschrank ab, beispielsweise beim Abtauen des Gefrierschranks.

0 1. Zum Abschalten des kompletten Gerätes die Taste EIN/AUS gedrückt

halten. In beiden Temperaturanzeigen erfolgt ein sogenannter "Count down", dabei wird rückwärts von "3" nach "1" gezählt. Nach Erreichen der "1" wird kurzzeitig OF angezeigt, dann schaltet der Kühl- und der Gefrierraum ab. Die Temperaturanzeigen erlöschen.

Vor Ablauf des „Count downs“ kann der Abschaltvorgang durch Loslas-

sen der EIN/AUS-Taste abgebrochen werden.

Kühlraum abschalten bei eingeschaltetem Gefrierraum:

Bei abgeschaltetem Kühlraum kann während des Betriebs des Gefrier-

raums nur die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC aktiviert werden.

Gefrierraum abschalten bei eingeschaltetem Kühlraum:

Um den Gefrierraum wieder einzuschalten, Taste "+" oder "-" drücken.

Gefrierraum abschalten bei abgeschaltetem Kühlraum:

0 1. Gleichzeitig die Tasten "+" und "-" für den Gefrierraum gedrückt hal-

ten. Ein "Count down" von "3" nach "1"erfolgt, danach erscheint in der Temperaturanzeige „OF“.

Die Stromzufuhr ist nur dann vollständig unterbrochen, wenn der

Netzstecker aus der Steckdose gezogen ist.

Soll das Gerät für längere Zeit außer Betrieb genommen werden:

Kontroll- und Informationssystem

Das Kontroll- und Informationssystem besteht aus Temperaturanzeigen, optischer Warnanzeige und akustischer Warneinrichtung. Das System warnt: – bei Netzausfall; – bei offenen Gerätetüren; – wenn die Temperatur im Kühl- oder Gefrierraum zu warm wird; –bei Funktionsstörungen am Gerät.

Netzausfall-Warnung

Nach einer Unterbrechung der Stromversorgung wird im Display POWER und wieder die aktuelle IST-Temperatur angezeigt. Das Gerät läuft mit den zuvor gewählten Einstellungen weiter. Die Anzeige POWER erlischt, sobald eine beliebige Taste gedrückt wird.

"Offene Tür"-Warnung

Bei geöffneter Kühl- oder Gefrierraumtür ertönt ein Warnton und die Anzeige DOOR OPEN und eine rote Hinterleuchtung blinken: – bei geöffneter Gefrierraumtür nach ca. 1,5 Minuten, – bei geöffneter Kühlraumtür nach ca. 4 Minuten.

0 1. Falls Sie zum Ein- oder Umräumen des Kühl- bzw. Gefrierguts mehr Zeit

benötigen, können Sie den Warnton und die rot blinkende Hinterleuchtung unterbrechen, indem Sie die Taste RESET drücken. Bei weiterhin geöffneten Türen beginnt der Alarm nach Ablauf von 8 Minuten (geöffnete Kühlraumtür) bzw. 3 Minuten (geöffnete Gefrierraumtür) erneut.

2. Mit der Taste RESET können Sie den Warnton und die rot blinkende Hinterleuchtung erneut für 8 Minuten (geöffnete Kühlraumtür) bzw. 3 Minuten (geöffnete Gefrierraumtür) unterbrechen. Bei weiterhin geöffneten Türen beginnt der Alarm erneut.

3. Wird die Taste RESET zum dritten Mal gedrückt, schaltet sich der Türalarm endgültig ab.

Die Anzeige DOOR OPEN erlischt beim Schließen der Türen.

Temperaturwarnung

Für den Kühlraum:

Ein Warnton ertönt und die Anzeige TEMPERATURE und eine rote Hinterleuchtung blinken, sobald die Temperatur im Kühlraum auf über 12 °C ansteigt.

Wenn die Temperatur im Kühlraum auf unter 12 °C abfällt, schaltet sich der Warnton automatisch ab. Die Anzeige TEMPERATURE und die rote Hinterleuchtung blinken weiter.

0 1. Mit der Taste RESET können Sie Warnton und Warnanzeige abschalten.

Die Temperaturanzeige für den Kühlraum zeigt für 5 Sekunden die wärmste Temperatur an, die während des Temperaturalarms im Kühlraum erreicht wurde. Danach hört die Temperaturanzeige auf zu blinken und schaltet wieder auf die aktuelle Kühlraumtemperatur um. Die Anzeige TEMPERATURE blinkt weiter, solange der Temperaturalarm besteht.

Für den Gefrierraum:

Ein Warnton ertönt und die Anzeige TEMPERATURE und eine rote Hinterleuchtung blinken, sobald die Temperatur im Gefrierraum auf über

-11 °C ansteigt. Wenn die Temperatur im Gefrierraum wieder auf unter -11 °C abfällt,

schaltet sich der Warnton automatisch ab. Die Anzeige TEMPERATURE und die rote Hinterleuchtung blinken weiter.

Wenn im Falle eines Alarms eine Netzunterbrechung auftritt, startet

das Gerät bei Rückkehr ans Stromnetz mit akustischem und optischem Alarmsignal.

Achtung! Bei An- oder Auftauverdacht sollten Sie, je nach erfolgter Erwärmung, die Qualität der Lebensmittel und deren weitere Verwendung prüfen.

Ein Temperaturanstieg ist eventuell zurückzuführen auf: – häufiges oder langes Türöffnen;

– Einlagern größerer Mengen warmer Lebensmittel; – hohe Umgebungstemperatur; – einen Fehler am Gerät.

Funktionsstörungen

Hat die Elektronik des Geräts einen technischen Defekt erkannt, der vom Kundendienst behoben werden muß, ertönt ein Warnton und die Anzeige SERVICE erscheint mit einer blinkenden roten Hinterleuchtung. Zusätzlich zeigt die Temperaturanzeige: – für eine Störung im Kühlraum ein Quadrat in der

Temperaturanzeige für den Kühlraum,

– für eine Störung im Gefrierraum ein Quadrat in der

Temperaturanzeige für den Gefrierraum.

0 1. Mit der Taste RESET können Sie den Warnton und die blinkende rote

Hinterleuchtung abschalten. Die Anzeige SERVICE leuchtet weiter, solange die Funktionsstörung besteht.

2 Tipps zur Energie-Einsparung

• Das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Herden, Heizkörpern oder anderen

Wärmequellen aufstellen. Bei hoher Umgebungstemperatur läuft der Kompressor häufiger und länger.

• Ausreichende Be- und Entlüftung am Gerätesockel und an der Gerä-

terückseite gewährleisten. Lüftungsöffnungen niemals abdecken.

• Keine warmen Speisen in das Gerät stellen. Warme Speisen erst

abkühlen lassen.

• Tür nur so lange wie nötig geöffnet lassen.

• Die Temperatur nicht kälter als nötig einstellen.

• Tiefkühlgut zum Auftauen in den Kühlraum legen. Die Kälte im Tief-

kühlgut wird so zur Kühlung im Kühlraum genutzt.

• Den Verflüssiger an der Geräterückseite immer sauber halten.

Öffnen der Gefrierraumtür

Wird die Gefrierraumtür des in Betrieb befindlichen Geräts geschlossen, so läßt sie sich eventuell nicht sofort wieder öffnen, da zunächst ein Unterdruck im Gefrierraum entsteht, der die Tür bis zum Druckausgleich geschlossen hält. Nach einigen Minuten können Sie die Tür wieder öffnen.

Abstellflächen

Die Abstellflächen sind höhenverstellbar:

Je nach Erfordernis können die Türabstellfächer (je nach Modell) nach oben herausgenommen und in andere Aufnahmen umgesetzt werden.

LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum

Der LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum besteht aus zwei Schubladen, die mit Schiebereglern zum Einstellen der Luftfeuchtigkeit ausgestattet sind. Im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum wird die Temperatur automatisch geregelt. Sie bleibt konstant nahe 0 °C, eine Einstellung ist nicht erforderlich. Durch die niedrige Lagertemperatur nahe 0 °C und die regelbare Luftfeuchtigkeit ergeben sich für die verschiedenen Lebensmittel optimale Lagerbedingungen. Im Vergleich zum normalen Kühlraum können frische Lebensmittel im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum daher bei gleichbleibender Qualität länger gelagert werden. Geschmack, Frischegrad, Vitamine und Mineralstoffe bleiben in hohem Maße erhalten. Ein Gewichtsverlust von Obst und Gemüse verringert sich. Die Ernährung kann ernährungsphysiologisch hochwertiger erfolgen.

Auch zum langsamen Auftauen von gefrorenen Lebensmitteln ist der

LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum geeignet. In diesem Falle sind die aufgetauten Lebensmittel im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum noch bis zu zwei Tage haltbar. Um das maximale Kühlraum-Volumen zu nutzen, können die Schubladen aus dem Gerät genommen werden. Die Lagerbedingungen entsprechen dann der Einstellung „Trocken“ (nur für verpackte Lebensmittel).

Luftfeuchtigkeit einstellen

Die beiden Schubladen können entsprechend den gewünschten Lagerbedingungen jede unabhängig voneinander mit höherer oder niedrigerer Luftfeuchtigkeit genutzt werden. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit kann mit Hilfe der Schieberegler an der Vorderseite jeder Schublade eingestellt werden:

• Trocken: eine niedrige relative Luftfeuchtigkeit wird erreicht, wenn

beide Regler in Position vollständig geöffnet.

• Feucht: eine hohe relative Luftfeuchtigkeit wird erreicht, wenn beide

Die Schnellkühl-Funktion kann zum schnellen Abkühlen von Getränken in Dosen oder Flaschen auf der Schnellkühl-Ablage oder von größeren Mengen zimmerwarmer Lebensmittel verwendet werden.

Schnell-Kühlung von Dosen oder Flaschen

Dosen oder Flaschen in den Halter auf der Schnellkühlablage vor dem Luftauslassgitter stellen. Regler auf maximale Belüftung stellen und COOLMATIC-Funktion einstellen.

Schnell-Kühlung von Lebensmitteln

Lebensmittel im Kühlraum lagern. Regler auf maximale Öffnung stellen und COOLMATIC-Funktion einstellen.

Sind die Getränke bzw. Lebensmittel ausreichend abgekühlt, die COOLMATIC-Funktion abstellen. Regler auf minimale Öffnung stellen.

Nach Ablauf von 6 Stunden wird die COOLMATIC-Funktion selbsttätig

beendet, wenn sie nicht zuvor manuell abgeschaltet wurde.

Flaschenhalter

Im Flaschenfach ist ein Flaschenhalter eingesetzt. Er dient als Kippschutz für einzelne Flaschen und ist seitlich verschiebbar.

Richtig lagern

Lebensmittel sollen immer abgedeckt oder verpackt in den Kühlraum, um Austrocknen und Geruchs- oder Geschmacksübertragung auf anderes Kühlgut zu vermeiden.

Zum Verpacken eignen sich: – Frischhaltebeutel und -folien aus Polyäthylen; – Kunststoffbehälter mit Deckel; – Spezielle Hauben aus Kunststoff mit Gummizug; – Aluminiumfolie.

Kälteempfindliche Lebensmittel dürfen nicht im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum gelagert werden:

• kälteempfindliche Südfüchte, z.B. Ananas, Bananen, Grapefruit,

Melonen, Mango, Papaya, Orangen, Zitronen, Kiwi.

• Hartkäse, Kartoffeln, kälteempfindliches Gemüse wie Gurken, Paprika,

• Achten Sie beim Einkaufen auf die Frische der Lebensmittel. Qualität

und Frischegrad sind entscheidend für die Lagerdauer.

• Fleisch und Fisch immer verpackt und trocken lagern.

• Eiweißreichere Lebensmittel verderben schneller: Schalen- und Krus-

tentiere verderben schneller als Fisch und Fisch wiederum schneller

als Fleisch. Durch Lagerung im 0°C Fach kann auch bei diesen Lebens-

mitteln die Lagerdauer ohne qualitative Einbußen bis zum 3-fachen

verlängert werden.

• Alle Lebensmittel, die im LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum gelagert werden,

sollten ca. 15 - 30 Minuten vor dem Verzehr aus den Schubladen

genommen werden. Bei Raumtemperatur entfalten sich Aroma und

Geschmack, der Genußwert erhöht sich.

Einfrieren

Außer der untersten Schublade, die nur zum Lagern dient, sind alle anderen Schubladen im Gefrierraum zum Einfrieren geeignet.

Achtung!

• Vor dem Einfrieren von Lebensmitteln muß die IST-Temperatur im

Gefrierraum -18 °C oder kälter sein.

• Bitte das auf dem Typschild angegebene Gefriervermögen beachten.

Das Gefriervermögen ist die maximale Menge an frischer Ware, die

innerhalb von 24 Stunden eingefroren werden kann. Wenn Sie an

mehreren Tagen hintereinander einfrieren, nehmen Sie bitte nur 2/3

bis 3/4 der auf dem Typschild angegebenen Menge.

• Beim Einfrieren größerer Mengen Gefrierguts den gefrorenen Käl-

teakku in die mittlere Schublade im Gefrierraum vorne auf das schon

gefrorene Gefriergut legen.

• Einmal aufgetaute Lebensmittel ohne weitere Verarbeitung (garen zu

Fertiggerichten) auf keinen Fall ein zweites Mal einfrieren.

0 1. Die verpackten gefrorenen Lebensmittel in die unteren Schubladen

legen. Möglichst dicht zusammenpacken, um eine Erwärmung zu verhindern

Bei Ausnutzung des max. Gefriervermögens, 24 Stunden - bei kleineren

Mengen genügen 4 bis 6 Stunden - vor dem Einfrieren die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC einstellen. Bei kleinen Einfriermengen bis zu 3 kg ist FROSTMATIC nicht erforderlich.

Die Elektronik des Gerätes schaltet die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC nach

spätestens 52 Stunden automatisch ab. Sie können die Betriebsart FROSTMATIC auch manuell beenden, indem Sie auf Normalbetrieb umstellen.

Tipps:

• Geeignet zum Verpacken von Gefriergut sind:

– Gefrierbeutel und -folie aus Polyäthylen; – spezielle Gefriergutdosen; – Aluminiumfolie, extra stark.

• Zum Verschließen von Beuteln und Folien eignen sich:

Plastikklemmen, Gummiringe oder Klebebänder.

• Vor dem Verschließen die Luft aus Beuteln und Folien streichen, denn

Luft begünstigt das Austrocknen des Gefrierguts.

• Flache Päckchen formen, diese frieren schneller durch.

• Gefriergutdosen nicht bis zum oberen Rand mit flüssigem oder breii-

gem Gefriergut füllen, da sich Flüssiges beim Gefrieren noch ausdehnt.

Hinweis für Prüfstellen:

Stapelpläne zur Ermittlung der Gefrierleistung bzw. Aufwärmzeit können direkt beim Hersteller angefordert werden.

Tiefkühllagern

Achtung! Vor Erstbeladung des Gefrierraums mit bereits gefrorenem

Tiefkühlgut muß die erforderliche Lagertemperatur von -18 °C erreicht sein.

• Nur verpacktes Tiefkühlgut einlagern, damit es nicht austrocknet,

nicht den Geschmack verliert und keine Geschmacksübertragung auf anderes Tiefkühlgut erfolgen kann.

• Die Lagerzeit bzw. das Haltbarkeitsdatum von Tiefkühlprodukten

beachten.

• Bei nur halb beladenem Gefrierraum das Gefriergut möglichst dicht

zusammenpacken. Dadurch bleibt bei Stromausfall die Kälte im Gefriergut länger erhalten.

Tiefkühlgut möglichst nach Art getrennt in die Schubladen legen.

Dadurch haben Sie bessere Übersicht, vermeiden langes Türöffnen und sparen deshalb Strom.

Lagergutsymbole/Gefrierkalender

• Die Symbole auf den Schubla-

den zeigen unterschiedliche Arten von Tiefkühlgut.

• Die Zahlen geben für die

jeweilige Art von Tiefkühlgut die Lagerzeit in Monaten an. Ob der obere oder der untere Wert der angegebenen Lagerzeiten gültig ist, hängt von der Qualität der Lebensmittel und deren Vorbehandlung vor dem Einfrieren ab. Für Lebensmittel mit hohem Fettanteil gilt immer der untere Wert.

Eiswürfel bereiten

0 1. Eiswürfelschale zu 3/4 mit kaltem Wasser füllen und in das Gefriertab-

lett oder in eine Schublade stellen und gefrieren lassen.

2. Zum Herauslösen der fertigen Eiswürfel die Eiswürfelschale verwinden oder kurz unter fließendes Wasser halten. Achtung! Eine eventuell angefrorene Eiswürfelschale keinesfalls mit spitzen oder scharfkantigen Gegenständen ablösen. Einen Löffelstiel oder dergleichen verwenden.

Abtauen

Kühlraum und LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum

Kühlraum und LONGFRESH 0 °C Kaltraum tauen automatisch ab. Das Tauwasser wird in die Auffangschale am Kompressor geleitet und dort verdunstet.

Abtauen

Reinigung und Pflege

Aus hygienischen Gründen sollte das Geräteinnere, einschließlich Innenausstattung, regelmäßig gereinigt werden.

Warnung!

• Das Gerät darf während der Reinigung nicht am Stromnetz ange-

schlossen sein. Stromschlaggefahr! Vor Reinigungsarbeiten Gerät abschalten und Netzstecker ziehen oder Sicherung abschalten bzw. herausdrehen.

• Das Gerät nie mit Dampfreinigungsgeräten reinigen. Feuchtigkeit

könnte in elektrische Bauteile gelangen, Stromschlaggefahr! Heißer Dampf kann zu Schäden an Kunststoffteilen führen.

• Das Gerät muß trocken sein, bevor Sie es wieder in Betrieb nehmen.

Achtung!

• Ätherische Öle und organische Lösungsmittel können Kunststoffteile

angreifen, z. B. – Saft von Zitronen- oder Apfelsinenschalen; –Buttersäure; – Reinigungsmittel, die Essigsäure enthalten.

Solche Substanzen nicht mit den Geräteteilen in Kontakt bringen.

• Keine scheuernden Reinigungsmittel verwenden.

Geräte-Innenraum

Soll nur der Kühlraum gereinigt werden, einige Stunden zuvor die

Betriebsart FROSTMATIC einstellen, um für die Betriebsunterbrechung genügend Kältereserve im Gefrierraum zu schaffen. Gefrierraumtür dann nicht mehr öffnen.

0 1. Gerät einschließlich Innenausstattung mit einem Lappen und lauwar-

mem Wasser reinigen. Eventuell etwas handelsübliches Geschirrspül- mittel beigeben.

2. Anschließend mit klarem Wasser nachwischen und trockenreiben.

Die untere Abstellfläche, die den Kühlraum vom LONGFRESH 0 °C Kalt-

raum trennt, kann zur Reinigung entnommen werden. Hierzu die Platte gerade herausziehen. Die Abdeckung über der unteren Schublade kann zur Reinigung ent- nommen werden. Nach der Reinigung muss sie wieder in die vorherige Position gebracht werden, damit die Funktion des LONGFRESH 0 Kaltraums erhalten bleibt.

4. Regelmäßig die Magnet-Türdichtungen prüfen und reinigen.

Reinigung und Pflege

Gerät von außen

0 1. Gerät mit einem Lappen und lauwarmem Wasser reinigen. Eventuell

etwas handelsübliches Geschirrspülmittel beigeben.

2. Anschließend mit klarem Wasser nachwischen und trockenreiben.

1 Achtung: Verwenden Sie kein Edelstahl-Reinigungsmittel und auch

kein anderes aggressives oder scheuerndes Reinigungsmittel. Die schützende Lackschicht der Edelstahl-Oberfläche kann davon angegriffen werden.

Die vorhandene Lackschicht bildet einen Schutz gegen Fingerabdrücke, zusätzliche Reinigungs- und Pflegemittel sind daher nicht mehr erforderlich.

Staubablagerungen am Verflüssiger verringern die Kühlleistung und

erhöhen den Energieverbrauch. Deshalb einmal im Jahr den Verflüssiger an der Geräterückseite mit einer weichen Bürste oder mit dem Staubsauger vorsichtig reinigen.

Abhilfe bei Störungen

Möglicherweise handelt es sich bei einer Störung nur um einen kleinen Fehler, den Sie anhand nachfolgender Hinweise selbst beheben können. Führen Sie keine weiteren Arbeiten selbst aus, wenn nachstehende Informationen im konkreten Fall nicht weiterhelfen.

Warnung! Reparaturen am Kältegerät dürfen nur von Fachkräften

durchgeführt werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen. Wenden Sie sich im Reparaturfall an Ihren Fachhändler oder an unseren Kundendienst.

Was tun, wenn ...

Warnton ertönt. Im Display blinkt „DOOR OPEN“. und eine rote Hinterleuchtung.

Innenbeleuchtung funktioniert nicht.

Die Kühl- bzw. Gefrierraumtemperatur ist nicht ausreichend.

Starke Reifbildung im Gerät, evtl. auch an der Türdichtung.

Nach Einstellen einer anderen Betriebsart oder nach Änderung der Temperatureinstellung läuft der Kompressor nicht sofort an.

Gefrierraumtür und/oder Kühlraumtür ist zu lange geöffnet.

Lampe ist defekt. Achtung: Nach 4 Minuten schaltet die Innenbeleuchtung automatisch ab.

Temperatur ist nicht richtig eingestellt.

Tür war längere Zeit geöffnet.

Innerhalb der letzten 24 Stunden wurden größere Mengen warmer Lebensmittel eingelagert.

Das Gerät steht neben einer Wärmequelle oder wird nicht ausreichend belüftet.

Der Kompressor läuft nach einiger Zeit selbsttätig an.

Lampe auswechseln

Die Innenbeleuchtung schaltet sich bei geöffneter Tür aus Sicherheits-

gründen nach 4 Minuten automatisch ab. Beim nächsten Öffnen der Tür schaltet sie sich wieder ein.

Warnung! Stromschlaggefahr! Vor dem Lampenwechsel Gerät abschal-

ten und den Netzstecker ziehen oder Sicherung abschalten bzw. herausdrehen.

Betriebsgeräusche

Folgende Geräusche sind charakteristisch für Kältegeräte:

• Klicken

Immer wenn der Kompressor ein- oder ausschaltet, ist ein Klicken zu hören.

• Summen

Sobald der Kompressor arbeitet, können Sie ihn summen hören.

• Blubbern/Plätschern

Wenn Kältemittel in dünne Rohre einströmt, können Sie ein blubberndes oder plätscherndes Geräusch hören. Auch nach dem Abschalten des Kompressors ist dieses Geräusch noch kurze Zeit hörbar.

• Rauschen

Durch die vom Ventilator erzeugten Luftströmungen kann ein rauschendes Geräusch entstehen.

Bestimmungen, Normen, Richtlinien

Das Kältegerät ist für den Haushalt bestimmt und wurde unter Beachtung der für diese Geräte geltenden Normen hergestellt. Bei der Fertigung wurden insbesondere die nach dem Gerätesicherheitsgesetz (GSG), der Unfallverhütungsvorschrift für Kälteanlagen (VBG 20) und den Bestimmungen des Verbandes Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE) notwendigen Maßnahmen getroffen. Der Kältekreislauf wurde auf Dichtheit geprüft.

Fachbegriffe

• Kältemittel

Flüssigkeiten, die zur Kälteerzeugung verwendet werden können, nennt man Kältemittel. niedrig, daß die Wärme der im Kältegerät lagernden Lebensmittel das Kältemittel zum Sieden bzw. Verdampfen bringen kann.

• Kältemittelkreislauf

Geschlossenes Kreislaufsystem, in dem sich das Kältemittel befindet. Der Kältemittelkreislauf besteht im wesentlichen aus Verdampfer, Kompressor, Verflüssiger sowie aus Rohrleitungen.

• Verdampfer

Im Verdampfer verdampft das Kältemittel. Wie alle Flüssigkeiten benötigt Kältemittel zum Verdampfen Wärme. Diese Wärme wird dem Geräteinnenraum entzogen, der dadurch abkühlt. Deshalb ist der Verdampfer im Geräteinnenraum angeordnet oder unmittelbar hinter der Innenwand eingeschäumt und dadurch nicht sichtbar.

• Kompressor

Der Kompressor sieht aus wie eine kleine Tonne. Er wird von einem eingebauten Elektromotor angetrieben und ist hinten im Sockelbereich des Gerätes untergebracht. Aufgabe des Kompressors ist es, dampfförmiges Kältemittel aus dem Verdampfer abzuziehen, zu verdichten und zum Verflüssiger weiterzuleiten.

• Verflüssiger

Der Verflüssiger hat meist die Form eines Gitters. Im Verflüssiger wird das vom Kompressor verdichtete Kältemittel verflüssigt. Dabei wird Wärme frei, die über die Oberfläche des Verflüssigers an die Umgebungsluft abgegeben wird. Der Verflüssiger ist deshalb außen, meist an der Geräterückseite angebracht.

Sie haben einen verhältnismäßig niedrigen Siedepunkt, so

1 Important Safety Instructions

These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety. Ensure that you understand them all before installing or using this appliance. Your safety is of paramount importance. If you are unsure about any of the meanings of these warnings contact the Customer Care Department.

Prior to Installation

• Check the refrigerator/freezer for transport damage. Under no

circumstances should a damaged appliance be installed! In the event of damage, please contact your retailer.

Installation

• This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it.

• It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this

product in any way.

• Ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply

cable. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a cable available from your local Service Force Centre.

• Make sure that the power plug is not squashed or damaged by the

back of the fridge/freezer. A damaged power plug may overheat and cause a fire.

• If the power plug socket is loose, do not insert the power plug. There

is a risk of electric shock or fire.

• Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried

out by a qualified electrician or competent person.

• Parts which heat up should not be exposed. Whenever possible, the

back of the appliance should be close to a wall, but leaving the required distance for ventilation, as stated in the installation instructions.

• The appliance should be left for 2 hours after installation before it is

turned on, in order to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Refrigerant

The refrigerant isobutane (R600a) is contained within the refrigerant circuit of the appliance, a natural gas with a high level of environmental compatibility, which is nevertheless flammable.

• During transportation and installation of the appliance, be certain

that none of the components of the refrigerant circuit become damaged.

Important Safety Instructions

• If the refrigerant circuit should become damaged:

– avoid open flames and sources of ignition; – thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated.

Child Safety

• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the

product. Inform children of the possible dangers and instruct them in the correct use of the appliance.

• Keep packaging material away from children! (There is a risk of

suffocation!)

During Use

• This appliance is designed for domestic use only, specifically for the

storage of edible foodstuffs only. It is not intended for commercial or industrial use

• Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low

temperatures. Do not store any containers with flammable materials such as, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the freezer.

• Frozen food should not be refrozen once it has thawed out.

• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer.

• Ice lollies can cause ’frost/freezer burns’ if consumed straight from

the freezer compartment. Inform children of this danger.

• Do not remove items from the freezer compartment if your hands are

damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.

• Bottles and cans must not be placed in the freezer. They can burst

when the contents freeze.

• Manufacturers´ recommended storage times should be adhered to.

Refer to relevant instructions.

Maintenance and Cleaning

• Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect from

the electrical supply.

• When unplugging always pull the plug from the mains socket, do not

pull on the cable. Damage to the cord may cause a short circuit, fire and/or electric shock.

Servicing

• This product should be serviced by an authorised engineer and only

genuine spare parts should be used.

• Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance

yourself. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning.

Environmental Information

Packaging material

The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

2 Old appliance

The symbol product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

When disposing of your old appliance: Make the appliance unusable by cutting off the cable and remove any

door catches to ensure small children cannot be trapped inside. Help to keep your country tidy - use an authorised disposal site.

Appliance Transport

Two persons are required to transport the appliance. Two handles are provided on the back of the appliance at the top to enable a better hold. Before transporting, the plinth cover must be removed to prevent damage.

Grip the appliance with the recessed handles positioned as in the drawing, and transport the appliance.

3. In order to push the appliance into its final position, press carefully at the top of the door and tip the appliance back slightly. The weight is thus transferred to the back wheels and the appliance can be easily pushed.

4. When the appliance is standing in the desired place, attach the plinth cover. First hook at the hitches on the lower edge, then press the grid in position. Make sure that the door contact (if present) is not damaged and that it engages in the corresponding aperture in the plinth cover.

Before Use

Packaging

0 1. Remove all adhesive tape and packaging from the interior of the appli-

ance. Any remnants of adhesive can be removed with white spirit.

2. Remove the transport protection pieces and pull off the adhesive tape.

3. Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger. Dry the appliance thoroughly. Remove the transport fittings from the storage shelves:

5. Take hold of the storage shelf at the back and together with the fittings slide the storage shelf far enough forward so that it can be hinged downwards and the fittings can be removed from the guides.

Fitting the Door Handles

To keep the amount of packaging down and to reduce the size for transporting, the door handles are not mounted when the appliance is delivered.

Take care! Do not tighten screws too tightly (max. 2 Nm), the door

handles could be damaged. The handles are packed separately on the padding in front of the door, the brackets and screws inside the appliance. To mount, lay the appliance carefully on its back, if necessary. Use a piece of padding or a blanket as protection under the appliance.

Installation Location

The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by

the ambient temperature. The appliance should therefore

– not be exposed to direct sunlight; – not be installed next to radiators, cookers or other sources of heat; – only be installed at a location whose ambient temperature

corresponds to the climate classification, for which the appliance is

designed. The climate classification can be found on the rating plate, which is located at the left on the inside of the appliance. The following table shows which ambient temperature is correct for each climate classification:

If installation next to a source of heat is unavoidable, the following minimum clearances must be maintained at the sides of the appliance: – for electric cookers 3 cm; – for oil and coal fired ranges 30 cm. If these clearances cannot be maintained a heat insulating pad is required between the cooker and the refrigeration appliance.

The refrigerator/freezer needs ventilation

Air is fed under the door through the vent slots in the base and is exhausted upwards along the back wall. To ensure proper air circulation never cover or alter the vent openings.

Important! If the appliance is installed under a hanging cabinet, a clearance of at least 10 cm between the top of the appliance and the cabinet above it must be maintained.

Please check whether, after installing your appliance and especially after reversing the door, the door seal seals tightly. A badly fitting door seal may lead to heavy frosting and a higher power consumption (see also "What to do if ...“).

The appliance must stand on a firm horizontal surface.

Electrical Connection

A properly installed socket outlet with earthing contact is required for electrical connection. Electrical fuse protection must be of at least 10 ampere. If the outlet socket is no longer accessible after installation of the appliance, appropriate measures must be taken during electrical installation to assure that the appliance can be disconnected from the mains (e.g. fuse, circuit breaker, non-operate current safety-switch or the like, with a contact opening of at least 3 mm).

Carbon filter

There is a active carbon filter in the rear wall of the fridge section. The carbon filter cleans the air in the fridge section and in the LONGFRESH 0°C cold section by binding unpleasant smells. Tip: The active carbon filter is a part subject to wear and is not covered by the warranty.

Inserting and changing the active carbon filter:

When the fridge is delivered, the carbon filter is packed in a plastic bag to ensure a long life. Before using the appliance for the first time, the carbon filter must be inserted behind the air discharge grill. With the fridge operating normally, the carbon filter should be changed once a year to ensure optimum function. New carbon filters can be obtained from specialist dealers or from the customer care department.

0 1. To open the grill, press the lever on the right

of the grill (1) and open the grill forwards (2).

2. To change the old carbon filter, pull it from the runners (3).

3. Insert the new carbon filter into the runners of the grill (3) and press the grill closed until it snaps into place.

Take care when handling the filter to prevent

dislodging carbon particles.

Reversing The Door

The door hinges can be changed if required to suit the location where the appliance is installed.

Important! Only a qualified technician should change the side on which the door is fixed. If this is necessary, please contact our Customer Services or your dealer. A charge will be made for door reversal.

Temperature setting buttons

The temperature is adjusted using the „+“ (WARMER) and „-“ (COLDER) buttons.

These buttons are connected to the temperature display.

• The temperature display is switched over from the display of the

ACTUAL temperature (Temperature display is illuminated) to the display of the DESIRED temperature (Temperature display flashes) by pressing one of the two buttons, „+“ (WARMER) or „-“ (COLDER).

• Each time one of the two buttons is pressed again the DESIRED tem-

perature is adjusted by 1 °C.

• If neither button is pressed, the temperature display automatically

switches back after a short period (approx. 5 sec.) to the display of the ACTUAL temperature.

DESIRED temperature means: The temperature that has been selected for inside the fridge or the freezer compartment. The DESIRED temperature is indicated by flashing numbers.

Appliance Description

ACTUAL temperature means: The temperature display indicates the current temperature inside the fridge or the freezer compartment. The ACTUAL temperature is indicated with static illuminated numbers.

Once the COOLMATIC- or the FROSTMATIC function has been switched

on the DESIRED temperature that was set originally for the fridge or the freezer cannot be changed.

Temperature Displays

The temperature displays shows several types of information.

• In normal operation the average temperature in the fridge section is

displayed (ACTUAL temperature). The variations in temperature in the whole fridge section are small.

• In the freezer section the warmest temperature is displayed (ACTUAL

temperature). When fully filled, the warmest zone is normally located at the top in the front area of the freezer section. Depending upon how the section is filled, the temperatures are lower in other areas of the freezer section.

• While the temperature is being set, the currently set fridge and

freezer section temperatures flash in the display (DESIRED temperature). Tip: When changing the temperature setting wait about 24 hours until the temperature display has stabilised.

• When there is a temperature warning for the freezer compartment, if

the RESET button is activated, the temperature display will show for 5 seconds the warmest temperature the frozen food has reached.

• If there is a fault in the appliance the temperature display shows:

– a square in the temperature display of the fridge for a

fault in the fridge,

– a square in the temperature display of the freezer for a

fault in the freezer.

RESET button

With the RESET button, the acoustic warning signal can be switched off, e.g. the "Open Door" warning when sorting in or out, the food to be chilled or frozen.

When there is a temperature warning for the freezer compartment, if the RESET button is activated, the temperature display will show for 5 seconds the warmest temperature the frozen food has reached.

continuous operation. – COOLMATIC: Fridge temperature value 3 °C for 6 hours. – FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC:

Cooling for freezer section runs for 52 hours in

continuous operation, fridge temperature value 3 °C for

6 hours. – HOLIDAY: Fridge temperature value 14 °C.

0 1. Press MODE button once. In the display the operating mode SHOPPING

will flash.

2. After approx. 4 seconds the display stops flashing, the operating mode SHOPPING is set.

3. If another operating mode is to be set, before 4 seconds have elapsed, press the MODE button repeatedly until the desired mode is shown in the display. After approx. 4 seconds have elapsed, the display stops flashing, the operating mode is set. If the MODE button is pressed again, the next operating mode appears in the display.

To return to normal operation, press the MODE button repeatedly until

no words appear in the display (“ ”).

Text display

The names of the various operating modes that can be set with the MODE button and the words indicating an alarm, power cut or electrical fault appear in the text display.

• Operating modes: SHOPPING, FROSTMATIC, COOLMATIC, FROSTMATIC

and COOLMATIC, HOLIDAY, empty field when operating normally.

• Alarm: DOOR OPEN when the doors of the appliance have been open

for too long, TEMPERATURE when there is a temperature warning

• After a power cut: POWER displayed

• Electrical fault: SERVICE displayed

Prior to Initial Start-Up

Before connecting the appliance to the mains and putting it into ope-

ration for the first time, leave the appliance to stand for 30 minutes if was transported upright. After transport on its side, the appliance must be left to stand for 2 hours before putting it into operation. This is necessary to allow the oil to flow back into the compressor. Otherwise the compressor may be damaged.

0 1. Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial

start-up (see section: "Maintenance and Cleaning").

2. The appliance must be correctly installed in accordance with the chapter "Installation" before it is put into operation for the first time. Care should be especially taken that the mains voltage and frequency available correspond with the appliance’s rating plate.

3. Remove the cold accumulation block from the appliance.

4. Place the cold accumulation block into a drawer only after the optimal

storage temperature of -18 °C has been reached, and allow to freeze.

5. After 24 hours place the cold accumulation block at the front of the upper drawer.

6. Re-freeze the thawed cold accumulation block in the same fashion, e.g. after cleaning the appliance.

Initial Start-Up

0 1. Insert plug into mains socket.

2. Press and hold down the ON/OFF button. The temperature indicator and the back lighting light up, the appliance starts up. An alarm sounds, TEMPERATURE appears in the display and the back lighting flashes in red.

3. Switch off alarm and red back lighting using RESET button. The TEMPERATURE indicator goes out, if the temperature in the appliance has gone below the warning temperature.

Temperature settings set in the factory: +5 °C for the fridge section,

-18 °C for the freezer section.

4. Set the refrigerator to the desired temperature (see section: "Temperature Adjustment").

Goods to be refrigerated can be loaded shortly after switching on,

because the storage temperature in the refrigerator is quickly reached. When the freezer section is operating and the fridge section is switched

off, the latter can be switched on by pressing either of the fridge section buttons “+” or “-”.

5. Set the freezer temperature to -18 °C or colder (see section: "Temperature Adjustment").

Do not load freezer with goods until a temperature of -18 °C has been

reached, or until the red warning indicator light has gone out.

Temperature Adjustment

With the individual temperature setting buttons the desired temperatures in the refrigerator and in the freezer compartment can be adjusted independently of one another.

In the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone the temperature is automatically

controlled. It remains constant at about 0 °C, no setting is required. Note: our appliance is equipped with a dynamic circulating air cooling function for the fridge section and the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold section. Because of this different fan noises can be discerned. This is normal, there is no fault or defect.

Temperature Adjustment

0 1. Press either the „+“ (WARMER) or „-“ (COLDER) button.

The temperature display switches over and the DESIRED temperature currently set flashes on the temperature display.

2. To adjust to a warmer temperature, press the „+“ (WARMER) button. To adjust to a colder temperature, press the „-“ (COLDER) button. The changed setting is immediately displayed on the temperature display.

Each time the button is pressed the temperature is adjusted by 1 °C. Adjustable temperature range for the freezer compartment:

-15 °C to -24 °C. Adjustable temperature range for the refrigerator compartment:

+3 °C to +8 °C, (Holiday mode: +14 °C ) For the fridge section +5 °C and for the freezer section -18 °C are

considered sufficiently cold storage temperatures.

3. Once the required temperature has been set, after a short period (approx. 5 sec.) the temperature display will change and again indicate the current ACTUAL temperature inside the fridge or freezer compartment. The display changes from flashing to illuminated numbers.

The display lighting switches itself on when any button is touched. If no button is pressed, the display lighting switches itself off after approx. 1 minute.

Important! Please check regularly on the warning display and on the temperature display that the storage temperature is being maintained.

Tip:

The appliance setting cannot be changed when the mains plug is pulled out or there is no power supply. When reconnected to the mains supply, the appliance takes on the state it had at the time of the interruption to the power supply.

Operating modes

Using the MODE button different operating modes can be selected. The operating modes are automatically switched off after a corresponding period, but can also be manualled ended each time. To do this, press the MODE button repeatedly until there are no longer any words appearing in the display. After the operating modes have been completed, the appliance continues to run with the previously set desired temperatures.

As long as the figures in the temperature display are still flashing after

the desired temperature has been set, no operating mode can be set with the MODE button.

SHOPPING

The SHOPPING function is suitable for quickly cooling larger quantities of refrigerated foods in the fridge

section, as well as for smaller amounts of frozen foods in the freezer section, e. g. after a big shop. This automatically sets a desired temperature of +3 °C for the fridge section for 6 hours. Cooling for the freezer section runs for 1 hour in continuous operation.

0 1.Press the MODE button repeatedly until SHOPPING is flashing in the

display. After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode SHOPPING is activated, the SHOPPING indicator lights up. Both thermometer indicators in the display show a falling temperature column. The SHOPPING function is automatically switched off after 6 hours. The SHOPPING indicator will go out.

FROSTMATIC

The FROSTMATIC function provides for quick freezing of fresh food products, and at the same time protects previously stored goods against undesired warming in

the freezer compartment. The cooling of the freezer section runs for about 52 hours in

continuous operation.

COOLMATIC

The COOLMATIC operating mode is suitable for quickly cooling larger quantities of refrigerated foods in the fridge section, e. g. drinks, salads for a party or wedding.

0 1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until COOLMATIC is flashing in the

display. After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode COOLMATIC is activated, the COOLMATIC indicator lights up. The thermometer indicator in the display for the fridge section shows a falling temperature column. The COOLMATIC function now provides for intensive cooling. A DESIRED temperature of +3 °C is automatically selected. The COOLMATIC function is ended automatically after a period of 6 hours. The originally selected DESIRED temperature is again valid. The temperature display shows the ACTUAL refrigerator temperature.

FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC

When the FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC functions are combined, a desired temperature of +3 °C is automatically set for the fridge section for 6 hours. Cooling for the freezer section runs for 52 hours in continuous operation.

0 1.Press the MODE button repeatedly until FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC

are flashing in the display at the same time. After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC is activated, the FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC indicators light up. Both thermometer indicators in the display show a falling temperature column. The functions FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC are automatically switched off: COOLMATIC after 6 hours, FROSTMATIC after 52 hours at the latest. The indicators go out accordingly.

HOLIDAY

In the operating mode HOLIDAY (holiday setting) the desired temperature value for the fridge section is +14 °C. In the holiday mode it is therefore possible to leave the door of the empty refrigerator closed during periods of extended absence. Advantage: Unintentional closing of the door, or accidental closing of the door by persons who have access to your home during your absence, is no longer possible. Without the holiday mode leaving the door closed would lead to the accumulation of odours and mould.

After emptying and cleaning the appliance, proceed as follows:

0 1. To switch on the holiday setting, press the MODE button repeatedly

until HOLIDAY is flashing in the display. After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode HOLIDAY is activated, HOLIDAY lights up.

Important! Do not store any goods in the refrigerator when the holiday mode is in operation. The temperature is regulated at about +14 °C when the holiday mode is in operation. This is too warm for food products.

If, while you are away, the room temperature could fall below 15 °C for a long period, the fridge should not be operated in the operating mode HOLIDAY, but switched off and the door opened.

To return to normal operation, press the MODE button repeatedly until

there are no longer any words appearing in the display.

Switching the Appliance Off

If the freezer is turned off, the refrigerator will also turn off.

0 1. To switch the entire appliance off, press and hold down the ON/OFF

button. In both temperature displays there is a countdown from “3“ to “1“. After “1“ is reached, “OF“ is displayed briefly, then the fridge section and the freezer section are switched off. The temperature displays go out.

Before the countdown has been completed, the switch-off procedure

can be cancelled by releasing the ON/OFF button.

Switching the Appliance Off

Switching off fridge section when freezer section is switched on:

0 Press and hold the “+“ and “-“ buttons for the fridge section at the

same time. There is a “countdown“ from “3“ to “1“, then “OF“ appears in the temperature display. The fridge section switches itself off.

To switch the fridge section on again, press “+“ or “-“ button.

When the fridge section is switched off, the only operating mode that

can be activated while the freezer section is operating is FROSTMATIC.

Switching off freezer section when fridge switched on:

0 1. If the freezer is turned off, the refrigerator will also turn off.

Switching off freezer section when fridge switched off:

0 1. Press and hold down the “+“and the “-“ buttons for the freezer section

at the same time. There is a countdown from “3“ to “1“. The appliance is only completely disconnected from the electricity

supply when the power plug has been removed from the power outlet.

If the appliance is not to be used for an extended period:

0 1. Switch appliance off by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button (see

above).

2. Remove the mains plug or switch off.

3. Clean the appliance thoroughly (see

section: "Maintenance and Cleaning").

4. Leave the doors open to avoid accumulation of odours.

Control and Information Systems

The control and information systems consist of temperature displays, an optical warning display and an acoustic warning. The system warns: – when there is a power cut; – when the appliance doors are open – if the temperature in the refrigerator or freezer compartment is too

high;

– if there are functional faults with the appliance.

Power cut warning

After an interruption to the power supply, POWER is displayed in the display and the current Actual temperature is displayed again. The appliance continues to run with the previously selected settings. The POWER indicator goes out, as soon as any button is pressed.

“Open door” warning

When the fridge or freezer door is open, an alarm sounds and the indicator DOOR OPEN and red back lighting flash. – when the freezer door is open, after about 1.5 minutes, – when the fridge door is open, after about 4 minutes.

0 1. If you need more time to put refrigerated or frozen food away or to re-

arrange it, you can cancel the alarm and the flashing red light by pressing the RESET button. If the doors are still open, the alarm starts again after 8 minutes (open fridge section door) or 3 minutes (open freezer section door).

2. Using the RESET button you can cancel the alarm and the flashing red light again for 8 minutes (open fridge section door) or 3 minutes (open freezer section door). If the doors are still open after that, the alarm starts again.

3. If the RESET button is pressed for a third time, the door alarm is switched off for good.

The DOOR OPEN indicator goes out when the doors are closed.

Control and Information Systems

Temperature warning

For the fridge section:

An alarm sounds and the TEMPERATURE indicator and a red back light flash, as soon as the temperature in the fridge section rises above 12 °C.

If the temperature in the fridge section falls below 12 °C, the alarm automatically switches itself off. The TEMPERATURE indicator and the red back lighting continue to flash.

0 1. You can switch off the alarm and warning light with the RESET button.

For 5 seconds the temperature display for the fridge section shows the warmest temperature that was reached in the fridge section during the temperature warning. After that the temperature display stops flashing and switches back to the current temperature in the fridge section. The TEMPERATURE indicator continues to flash, as long as there is a temperature warning.

For the freezer section:

An alarm sounds and the TEMPERATURE indicator and red back lighting flash, as soon as the temperature in the freezer section rises above

-11 °C. If the temperature in the freezer section falls back below -11 °C, the

alarm automatically switches itself off. The TEMPERATURE indicator and the red back lighting continue to flash.

0 1. You can switch off the alarm and the red back lighting with the RESET

button. For 5 seconds the temperature display for the freezer section shows the warmest temperature that was reached in the freezer section during the temperature warning. After that the temperature display stops flashing and switches back to the current temperature in the freezer section. The TEMPERATURE indicator continues to flash, as long as there is a temperature warning.

If there is an interruption to the power supply during an alarm, when

the appliance is reconnected to the supply, it starts with an acoustic and visual alarm.

If the possibility of partial or complete thawing exists, you should check the quality of the foods.

A rise in temperature may be caused by: – frequent door opening for long periods of time;

– loading with large quantities of warm foods; – high ambient temperature; – an error with the appliance.

Function Errors

If the appliance’s electronics recognise a technical problem that has to be remedied by your local Service Force Centre, an alarm sounds and the SERVICE indicator appears back lit with a flashing red light. The temperature display indicates: – a square in the temperature display of the fridge for a fault

in the fridge,

– a square in the temperature display of the freezer for a

fault in the freezer.

0 1. Using the RESET button you can switch off the alarm and the flashing

red light. The SERVICE indicator continues to be lit as long as there is an electrical malfunction.

Opening the Freezer Compartment Door

If the freezer compartment door is closed when the appliance is in operation, it is possible that it cannot be immediately opened again. A vacuum occurs in the freezer compartment which holds the door closed until pressure has been equalised. The door can be opened again after several minutes.

Storage Shelves

The storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights:

0 1. Pull the storage shelf forward until

it can be tipped up or down and removed.

2. To insert at a different height use the same procedure in reverse.

Variable Inner Door

The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at other positions as needed.

LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone

The LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone consists of 2 drawers provided with slide controls to set the air moisture. In the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone the temperature is automatically controlled. It remains constant at about 0 °C, no setting is required. The low storage temperature of around 0 °C and the air moisture that can be regulated result in optimum storage conditions for various foodstuffs. Compared to the normal fridge zone, fresh food can be stored in the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone for longer while keeping the same quality. High levels of taste and freshness, vitamins and minerals are retained. Weight loss in fruit and vegetables is reduced. Nutrition levels in your food are higher as a result.

The LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone is also suitable for slowly defrosting

frozen food. If you do this, the defrosted food can be kept in the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone for up to two days. To use the maximum fridge section space, you can take the drawers out of the appliance. The storage conditions then correspond to the “Dry“ setting (only for packaged food).

Interior Accessories

Setting the air moisture

The two drawers can be used independently of one another with higher or lower air moisture according to the storage conditions required. The air moisture can be set with the aid of the slide control on the front of each drawer.

• Dry: a low relative air moisture is obtained when both controls are

slid to position

• Moist: a high relative air moisture is obtained when both controls are

slid to position The air moisture in the drawers depends upon the moisture content of the food stored and upon how often the door is opened.

Quick Chill Shelf

The quick chill shelf can be placed in one of the upper grooves. To maintain the best performance the shelf should be placed in the second groove from the top.

Interior Accessories

Quick chill

The quick chill function can be used for the fast cooling of drinks in cans or bottles in the fast cool storage tray or of larger amounts of room-temperature food.

Chilling of cans or bottles

Place cans or bottles in the holder on the fast cool storage tray in front of the air discharge grill. Set the regulator to maximum circulation and set the COOLMATIC function.

Chilling of food

Place the food in the fridge. Open the regulator to maximum and set the COOLMATIC function.

When the drinks or the food is sufficiently cooled, turn off the COOLMATIC function. Set regulator to minimum opening.

When this function has been activated, forced air will chill the groce-

ries, and the temperature in the cabinet reset to +3 °C. After 6 hours the COOLMATIC function is ended automatically. The yellow light goes out. Turn the air regulator to its minimum position.

Bottle Holder

Some models are equipped with a bottle holder in the bottle compartment. This is used to prevent individual bottles from falling over and can be slid sideways.

Correct storage

In order to check the temperature on the shelves you can carry out the following test yourself:

0 1. Place a cup of water in the centre of the said shelf with a thermometer

inside.

2. Leave the fridge door closed overnight and check the temperature first thing in the morning.

3. At this point the temperature should read no more than 5 °C; if it does, you need to adjust the temperature regulator to a colder setting.

Tips:

• When shopping always look for the freshest foods. Quality and

freshness are crucial to how long food can be kept.

• Always store meat and fish wrapped and dry.

• Foodstuffs rich in protein spoil more quickly: Shellfish and

crustaceans go off more quickly than fish and fish in turn goes off more quickly than meat. By storing them in the 0°C section, the storage period even for these foodstuffs can be increased by up to 3 times without loss of quality.

• All food that is stored in the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone should be

removed from the drawers approx. 15 - 30 minutes before consumption. Aroma and taste develop at room temperature and the enjoyment of the food is increased.

• Food stored in the refrigerator compartment should always be

covered or packed so that they do not dry out, lose their flavour, or transfer their flavour to any other refrigerated food. The following

are suitable for packing: – polyethylene bags; – plastic containers with lids; – special plastic covers with rubber retainers; – aluminium foil.

• Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids.

• Keep the time between buying chilled food and placing it in your

freezer as short as possible.

• Do not push food together too much, try to allow air to circulate

around each item.

Freezing

Except for the bottom drawer, which serves only for storage purposes, all compartments and drawers in the freezer compartment are suitable for freezing fresh food.

Warning!

• Before foods are frozen, the actual temperature in the freezer

compartment must be -18 °C or colder.

• Please observe indicated freezing capacity on the rating plate. The

freezing capacity represents the maximum amount of fresh goods

that can be frozen within 24 hours. If you freeze goods on several

days, one after the other, freeze amounts equal to 2/3 to 3/4 of the

capacity indicated on the rating plate.

• When freezing large amounts of frozen food, place the frozen freezer

block at the front of the middle drawer in the freezer section on the

already frozen food.

• Thawed foods which have not been processed further (cooked into

meals) may not under any circumstances be frozen a second time.

0 1. Place the packaged frozen foodstuffs in the bottom drawer. Pack

together as tightly as possible freezer block on top.

Take care: Do not touch frozen foods with wet hands. Your hands could freeze onto them.

2. Before freezing, wrap up all foodstuffs to be frozen in airtight packaging, so that they do not dry out, do not lose their taste and there can be no transfer of taste to other frozen foods. Place the food to be frozen in the top drawer(s). Non-frozen goods must not touch already frozen goods, as otherwise the frozen goods can defrost.

FROSTMATIC for 24 hours before freezing – with smaller amounts 4 to 6 hours are sufficient. The FROSTMATIC mode need not to be set for freezing of small quantities of up to 3 kg.

The appliance electronics automatically switch the FROSTMATIC oper-

ating mode off after a period of approx. 52 hours at the latest. You can also stop the FROSTMATIC operating mode manually by switching to normal operation.

Tips:

• The following are suited for the packaging of frozen goods:

– freezer bags and polyethylene wraps; – plastic containers for frozen foods; – extra-thick aluminium foil

• The following are suited for sealing bags and wraps:

plastic clips, rubber bands or adhesive tape.

• Press air out of bags and wraps before sealing, because air

encourages drying of frozen goods.

• Make flat packages, because these freeze more quickly.

• Do not fill plastic containers for frozen foods to the brim with liquid

or paste-like goods, because liquids expand during freezing.

Frozen Storage

Warning! Before initial loading of the freezer compartment with previously frozen goods, the required storage temperature of -18 °C must be reached.

• Load freezer only with packaged frozen goods, so that they do not

dry out or lose their flavour, and so that no flavour contamination of other frozen goods can occur.

• Please observe maximum storage times and expiry dates of frozen

goods.

• If the freezer section is only half filled, pack the frozen food together

as tightly as possible. This ensures that the cold is retained in the frozen food for longer in the event of a power cut.

When possible store frozen goods separately according to type in

drawers.

Storage Goods Symbols/Freezing Calendar

• The symbols on the drawers

show different types of frozen goods.

• The numbers indicate storage

times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated storage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pre-treating before freezing. The lower value applies to foods with high fat content.

Preparation of Ice Cubes

0 1. Fill ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water and place in a drawer and

allow to freeze.

2. To remove the finished ice cubes twist the ice cube tray or hold under running water for a short time. Warning! Do not, under any circumstances, free an ice tray which is frozen to the appliance with pointed or sharp edged objects. Use a spoon-handle or similar object.

Defrosting

Fridge zone, freezer and LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone defrost automatically

The electronics start the defrosting cycle in the refrigerator every time the compressor stops. The water collects in the discharge trough at the back wall of the refrigerator, and is fed through the discharge opening in the catch tray at the compressor where it is evaporated.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carried out DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY supply.

Warning!

• Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, highly perfumed cleaning

products, wax polishes or cleaning products containing bleach or alcohol.

• Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accu-

mulate in electrical components, danger of electrical shock! Hot vapours can lead to the damage of plastic parts.

• The appliance must be dry before it is placed back into service.

Attention!

• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e. g.

– lemon juice or the juice from orange peals; – butyric acid; – cleansers which contain acetic acid.

Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.

• Do not use any abrasive products.

Internal Cleaning

If the refrigerator only is to be cleaned, set the operating mode to

FROSTMATIC several hours in advance, in order to build up sufficient chill reserve in the freezer compartment for the interruption in service. Do not open the freezer compartment door.

Caution! Do not touch frozen goods with wet hands. Hands can freeze to the goods.

2. Remove frozen food, wrap it in several layers of newspaper and store it, covered, in a cool place. Place the cold accumulation block on top of the frozen food to keep it cold.

3. Switch off the apliance and remove plug from the mains, or disconnect from the electricity supply.

4. Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).

The bottom shelf, which divides the fridge zone from the

LONGFRESH 0 °C cold zone, can be removed for cleaning. To do this, pull the shelf straight out. The cover over the bottom drawer can be removed for cleaning purposes. After cleaning, it must be returned to the previous position so that the function of the LONGFRESH 0 °C cold section can be retained.

5. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

6. Regularly check the door seals and wipe clean to ensure they are clean

and free from debris.

External Cleaning

Warning!

• There are sharp edges on the underside of the product so care should

be taken when cleaning.

• Do not use abrasive products

0 1. Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water.

2. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

1 Important: Do not use cleaning agents for stainless steel or other

aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents. The protective coat of lacquer on the stainless steel surface can be damaged by these.

The coat of lacquer protects against finger prints and therefore additional cleaning agents and maintenance products are no longer required.

Accumulation of dust at the condenser increases energy consumption.

For this reason carefully clean the condenser at the back of the appliance once a year with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.

Replacing the light bulb

For safety reasons the interior lighting switches off after 4 minutes

when the door is open. It switches on again the next time the door is opened.

Warning! Danger of electrical shock! Before replacing the light bulb

switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug. Light bulb specifications: 220-240 V, max. 25 W, fitting: E 14

cross head screw and remove the light bulb cover downwards.

Hints and Tips

Normal Operating Sounds

• You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant

is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear, to the cooling plate/evaporator.

• When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round

and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor.

• A murmuring noise can be made by the flows of air created by the

fan.

Food Storage

To obtain the best performance from your refrigerator/freezer:

• Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids.

• Do not store food uncovered.

• Keep the time between buying chilled food and placing it in your

freezer as short as possible.

• Do not push food together too much, try to allow air to circulate

around each item.

2 Energy Saving Advice

• Do not install the appliance close to sources of heat, such as a cooker,

dishwasher or radiator.

• Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilated room and make sure

that the air openings of the appliance are not obstructed.

• Always leave warm food to cool down to room temperature before

placing in the freezer compartment.

• Try to avoid keeping the door open for long periods or opening the

door too frequently as warm air will enter the cabinet and cause the compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.

• Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the door from closing

properly.

What to do if ...

Before contacting your local Service Force Centre, check the following points.

Technical Terminology

• Refrigerant

Liquids that can be used to a generate a cooling effect are known as refrigerants. They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low, that the warmth from the food stored in the fridge or freezer can cause the refrigerant to boil and vaporise.

• Refrigerant Circuit

Closed circulation system that contains the refrigerant. The refrigerant circuit comprises primarily of an evaporator, a compressor, a condenser and pipe work.

• Evaporator

The refrigerant is evaporated in the evaporator. Similar to all other liquids, refrigerant requires heat to evaporate. This heat is removed from the interior of the appliance, as a result the interior is cooled. The evaporator is therefore located inside the appliance or placed in foam immediately behind the inner wall and thus not visible.

• Compressor

The compressor looks like a small drum. It is driven by a built-in electric motor and is mounted on the base of the appliance at the rear. The task of the compressor is to draw in vaporised refrigerant from the evaporator, to compress it, and to pass it on to the condenser.

• Condenser

The condenser normally has the form of a grid. The refrigerant compressed in the compressor is liquefied in the condenser. During this process, heat is released to the surrounding air at the surface of the condenser. The condenser is mounted on the base of the appliance.
