This appliance is designed to be fitted in cabinets of the recommended dimensionsas shown (Fig.2). Ifyour cabinetinteriordimension is between 565-570mm the oven may still be fitted. However, a minor modificationto the cabinet will be requiredto reduce the aperture size down to 560-565 mm, to allowthe product to besecurely screwed into the cabinet. The dimensions given provide adequate air circulation around the unit within the cabinet, ensuring compliance with BS EN60-335.Enquiries regarding the installation of the cookerpoint, if required, shouldbe made to yourRegional Electricity Company to ensure compliance with their regulations. The appliance socket switch should beoutside the cabinet but within 2mof theappliance to make it accessible to switch off the appliance in case of anemergency. To protect the hands, wear gloves when lifting theoveninto its housing.
There are three possible ways to connect yourappliance. In each case the appliance should beoperated using at least 6mmPVC insulated multicore cable. Please choosefrom the most appropriate after reading thedifferent methods:-

ABOUTCONDENSATION AND STEAM
Whenfoodis heated it produces steam similar to a boiling kettle. The oven is vented to allow someof thissteam to escape. However, always standbackfrom the appliance when opening the oven door to allowany build up of steam or heatto release.
If the steam comes into contact with a cool surfaceonthe outside of the appliance, e.g. a trim, it willcondense and produce water droplets. This is quitenormaland is not caused by a fault onthe appliance.
To prevent discolouration, regularly wipe awaycondensation and alsosoilage fromsurfaces.
COOKWARE
Baking trays, oven dishes etc., should not beplaceddirectly against the grid coveringthe fan atthe back of the oven.
Do not
use baking trayslarger than 30cmx 35cm (12” x 14”)as they willrestrict the circulation of heat andmay affect performance.
THE COOLING FAN FORTHE CONTROLS
The cooling fan comes onimmediately when the grill isswitched on and after a short time when the oven isinuse. It runs on after the controls are switched off untilthe appliance has cooled. During the initial period thecooling fan may turn ON andOFF, this is quite normal.
Do not
switch the appliance off at its power point until
the cooling fan has cooled the appliance down.
CONTROL PANEL INDICATORNEON
The light indicateswhether the oven is switched ON.The neon also indicates when the set temperature hasbeenreached. Ifthe neon does not operateas the instructions indicate the controls have been incorrectly set. Returnall controls to zero and re-set following the instructionsfor the required setting.

HELP
FUL HINTS WHENBUYING ANDPREPARING FOOD
Care must be taken when handling foodsin the home.Always followthe basic rules of food hygiene to prevent bacterial and microbial growth and cross contaminationwhen preparing, reheating, cooking, cooling, defrosting and freezingfoods:-
1. Avoid buyingchilled or frozen products if you
cannot store them straight away. The use ofaninsulatedcontainer whenshopping is advisable.
2.When you arrive home, place perishablefoods in
the refrigeratoror freezer immediately. Ensurethey are well covered to prevent them drying out andto prevent any possible cross contaminationwithbacteria fromraw to cooked foods.
3. In the kitchenkeep worktops, chopping boards
and utensils clean with hot soapy water betweenpreparation stages. Ideally, keep one choppingboardforraw meat and another for other foods.Keep your dish cloths and tea towels clean.
4. Follow the cooking instructions on packets of
prepared and cooked chilled foods, but beprepared to adjust cooking timeandtemperatures to suit your particular oven. For example, the fan ovengenerally requires 20-25°C lower temperature thanconventional ovens.
5. Always ensure that cooked chilled foods are
thoroughly re-heated until theyare pipinghotthroughout.
6. If not eaten straight away after cooking, food
should be cooled as quickly as possible (within onehour) and then refrigerated or frozen asrequired.(
Do not
put hot food into a Refrigerator orFreezer).

HINTS AND TIPS
•
Inorder to become acquainted withthe performance of the Dual Grillit is advisable to check food regularly when grilling.
•
Food should bethoroughlydried before grilling to minimise splashing. Brushlean meats and fishlightlywitha little oil or melted butter to keep themmoist during cooking.
•
Adjust the height ofthe grilling grid and grill panrunner position to allow for different thicknesses offoods.
•
Most foodshouldbe placedonthe grill pangrid inthe 'high'position in the grill pan to allowmaximumcirculation of air around the food.
•
Accompaniments such as tomatoes andmushrooms maybeplaced underneath the gridwhen grilling meats.
•
When toastingbreadusethe cranked shelf inposition 2 with the grid in the high position.
•
Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes before sealing steaks or toasting. Adjust the heat setting and the shelfas necessaryduringcooking.
•
The food should be turned over duringcooking as required.
•
Whenusing thecentre section of the dual grill, ensure food is positionedcentrally on the grill pangrid in the grill pan.

THE MAIN OVEN
USES OF THE MAIN OVEN
PREHEATING
The fan oven quickly reaches its temperature, soit is not usually necessary to preheat the oven. Without preheatinghowever, you may findyou need to addanextra 5 – 10 minuteson the recommended cookingtimes. For recipesneeding high temperatures, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, soufflés etc., best results are achieved iftheoven ispreheatedfirst. For best results when cooking frozen orcooked chilled ready meals always preheat the oven first.
COOKING TEMPERATURES
Fan oven cooking generally requires lower temperatures than conventional cooking. Followthe temperaturerecommended inthe chart on page 19. Asa guide reduce temperatures byabout20°C - 25°C for your own recipes, using a conventional oven.

HINTS AND TIPS
•
Arrange the shelves in the required positions before switching the oven ON.Shelf positions arenumbered from the bottom upwards.
•
When cooking morethan one dishin the fan oven, place dishes centrally on differentshelves ratherthan cluster several dishes onone shelf, this will allow the heat to circulate freely for the best cooking results.
•
Whenbatch baking one typeof food e.g. Victoria sandwich cakes, those of similar size willbecooked in the same time.
•
It isrecommended that when baking largerquantities, the shelf positions should be evenly spaced to suit the load being cooked.A slight increase incooking time may be necessary.
•
DO NOT
place baking trays directly on the ovenbase asit interferes with the oven air circulationand can lead to base burning; use the lower shelfposition.
•
The use of excessively high temperaturescancause unevenbrowning. It may be necessary to reduce temperatures slightly.Refer to the recommendations given in the oven cooking chart, see page 19.
