TiVo Central
Main menu for all TiVo features & settings.
Press the TiVo button on your TiVo remote
control to get to the TiVo Central® screen, the
starting point for all of TiVo’s amazing features. It’s
here where you can access your recorded programs,
interactive guide, settings, Apps and more. Access
the What to Watch Now menu on TiVo Central for
instant shortcuts to the best live shows. Need help?
Visit Vu-it.tv or refer to the remote layout on page 6.
Guide
Find out what’s on TV now or later!
Press the Guide button on your TiVo remote to
find what’s on right now, and what’s coming up.
Use the arrow keys to move around the guide.
Press Forward and Back to move right or left one
page at a time. Press Advanced to move 24 hours
ahead and Replay to move 24 hours back.
My Shows
Find. watch. repeat.
All of your recordings, downloaded and recommended
(TiVo suggestions) appear in the My Shows list.
Highlight any title in My Shows (even a show that’s
still recording) and press Play to view the shows
from the beginning or to resume playing where you
left o.
The My Shows list includes categories that make it
easy to find what you want to watch fast. Want to
see all the kids’ shows you’ve recorded? Select Kids.
Or lists of TV shows or movies that don’t include kids’
shows? Select TV Series or Movies.
Hint: You can get to the My Shows list by pressing
the TiVo button on your remote control twice.
Live TV
Return to live TV at any time.
Press the Live TV button on your TiVo remote to
watch live TV. Press Live TV again to switch tuners.
While watching live TV, you can pause, rewind, and
play the video in slow motion.

Search & OnePass
Your ticket to limitless entertainment.
Find anything fast! Your TiVo box searches program
listings for titles, keywords or actor/director, names
and gives you results all at the same time.
Search from the TiVo Central screen, select Search,
OnePass & Manage > Search. Enter a few letters of
the show title or actor’s name and the TiVo service
searches across live TV, OnDemand, PVR
recordings, Netflix and the Internet to find matches.
You can search by show title, episode title, show
description or persons name (actor, director, etc.).
You can even search for a particular channel by its
network name or call sign (eg: ABC or ESPN).
To set up OnePass select a show you want to
watch, select OnePass & other options > Create
OnePass (press the Rec button if you’re already
watching). Shows can be selected from various
places, including search results and from the guide.
If you would like to change the options for your
OnePass, click on Options.
OnePass allows you to save all your current and
future recordings as well as links to streaming
content in a My Shows folder. In addition, OnePass
organizes all your shows by starting with any season
of your choosing.
The discovery bar & TiVo suggestions
TiVo is the only entertainment experience that
understands what you like because only a PVR with
the TiVo experience keeps track of your programming
likes and dislikes and makes suggestions accordingly
through the discovery bar and TiVo suggestions.
TiVo Suggestions
You can rate any show — whether it’s live, recorded, or
listed in the program guide — by pressing the Thumbs
up® or Thumbs down® button on your remote. You
can give a show up to three thumbs up (great!) or three
thumbs down (terrible!).
TiVo suggestions uses these ratings to select
and record shows you might like. Don’t worry, TiVo
suggestions won’t override your own recordings or
steal valuable disk space. If you choose to auto record
TiVo suggestions, you’ll find a list of recorded TiVo
suggestions in your My Shows list. TiVo suggestions
are marked with a TiVo suggestion icon. The more
shows you rate over time, the better TiVo suggestions
will get at finding interesting shows for you.
The Discovery Bar
The discovery bar is the bar of thumbnail images
across the top of TiVo Central and most other menu
screens. The discovery bar helps you find new shows
that are similar to shows you’ve recorded. It doesn’t
contain only shows. You’ll also find thumbnails for
actors, collections of related shows, and more. Press
the Up arrow to move up to the discovery bar then the
Left and Right arrows to move around. Press Select
on an image that interests you to open an information
screen about that item.
You can customize what appears in the discovery
bar by going to Settings & Messages >
User Preferences > Customize Discovery Bar.

WishList® searches
TiVo is all about pleasant discoveries.
Finding the things you love is a snap with a
WishList search. Have a subject, title, actor or
director you’re curious about? Just set up a
WishList search and your TiVo box will search all
your programming and automatically record any
programs that match the criteria in the future.
There’s no limit to the number of WishList searches
you can run!
To set up a WishList search, go to TiVo Central >
Search, One Pass & Manage > WishList searches >
Create a new WishList Search.
Parental controls
Controlling access is easy.
Restrict access to shows based on their ratings or
simply restrict certain channels. From the TiVo
Central screen, select Settings & Messages >
Parental & Purchase Controls.
Check out Vewd App store, where you’ll find tons
of Apps to explore and enjoy on your TiVo box.
Popular Apps like AccuWeather, Facebook and more
are available with Vewd.
To access Vewd go to TiVo Central > Apps > Vewd.
Music, photos & more
Stream TV, music, videos and more on all your
favorite Apps. Explore popular Apps on your TiVo
by pressing the TiVo button on your remote and
selecting Apps.
The Plex App organizes your video, music and photo
collections and streams them right to your TiVo box.
Just complete the set-up process for the Plex App on
all devices involved in the transfer before streaming
content from your computer to your TiVo PVR. A basic
version of the Plex App is free to use, while more
advanced versions are available. Visit Plex.tv to find
the version that fits your needs.
To access Plex:
• Press the TiVo button
• Select Apps
• Select Plex
• Follow the on-screen instructions
OnDemand
What you want, when you want.
Access Live TV, OnDemand, web videos, and more.
Just select Apps from TiVo Central for available
video options. Get access to thousands of movies,
TV, shows, documentaries, concerts and more, with
Netflix & Vu-It! - right from your TiVo device.
Watch TV shows and movies
streamed directly to your TiVo with
your Netflix subscription. There’s no
need to buy extra devices or hook
up your laptop to your television
- TiVo lets you easily access and
watch Netflix right on your TV.
Two simple ways to access
Netflix on your TiVo when you
have a Netflix subscription:
1 Press the TiVo button on your
remote from the TiVo Central
screen, select Apps > Netflix.
2 From your remote simply click
the Netflix button.

To access Netflix on your TiVo box, you must
have an AccessInternet connection of at least
25 Mbps and a Netflix subscription.

If you are a Netflix subscriber continue with the

• Select Member Sign In on the screen using
your remote
• Sign in with your Netflix username and password
How to watch
When you have a Netflix subscription and search
for shows on your TiVo box, your results will include
shows available from Netflix. Or, you can search
Netflix directly for any show.

You can use the VU-IT! App on iOS or Android to search
for movies and TV shows, and if a movie or show is
available on Netflix, the App will indicate its availability.
TiVo on the go with
Tablet & mobile devices.
You will first need to register for
WatchTVEveryWhere in order to authenticate
your service provider for use of the VU-IT! App.
Visit WatchTVEverywhere.ca and select your provider
(Access Communications) then Click on Register and
fill out your information. You will need to know your
account number and the last name on your statement.
*Requires compatible TiVo hardware and an iOS or Android device running current software. To
stream live TV or recorded shows or to download shows, your mobile device must be connected
to the same home network as your PVR. Some shows cannot be downloaded due to the copy
protection assigned them by the program provider. Max of two concurrent streams on mobile
devices. IOS streaming works with Wi-Fi only. Android streaming works with Wi-Fi and cellular.
1 . Download or update the VU-IT! App on your
favorite mobile device. Search VU-IT in the Apple
App or Google Play store and download the App
to your device. To login you will need the email
address and password that you registered with
on WatchTVEveryWhere.ca.
2. Launch the VU-IT! App on your mobile device.
(Make sure your TiVo PVR is connected to your
home network).
3. Select Settings & Messages > Network Settings >
Connect to TiVo service now. In two to ten minutes
you will be connected.
Browse TV listings and schedule shows on your
home TiVo box from the find TV shows section or
online Vu-It.tv at home or away.
Access will then automatically authenticate your
details with our system and register you for the
service. This process may take up to 24 hours.
You will receive your confirmation email with the
activation link to log into WatchTVEveryWhere.ca.

TiVo Remote.
1. TiVo Central
The TiVo Button takes you to
the home screen. Press it twice to
get your My Shows list from any
other screen.
2. If programmed, TV PWR turns your
TV on or o. Go to Menu > Settings >
Remote, Cable-card, & Devices >
Remote Control Setup to program.
3. If programmed, use Input to
select the input for your TV.
4. Back goes back to the
previous screen.
5. Use the Arrow Buttons to navigate
the TiVo menus and program guide.
In live TV, press Up for the one-line
guide, Down to see personalized
predictions, Left for your favorite
channels, and Right to see what’s on
other tuners.
6. Volume control. To program go to
Settings > Remote, Cable card and
Devices.
7. Search.
8. Replay repeats the last eight
seconds of the show. Press and hold
to jump to the beginning of a show.
9. Use the Thumbs up and Thumbs
down buttons to rate shows

How to program a remote to
control a TV/Stereo
You can program your TiVo remote to only have to use one remote to control your
TV or sound system. From TiVo Central, select Settings & Messages > Remote,
CableCARD, & Devices > Remote Control Setup.

Quick tips.
Create a custom channel lineup
It’s easy to minimize the number of channels in your
program guide. Simply access your channel lineup
and select channels. From the TiVo Central screen
select Settings & Messages > Channels Settings.
Hide the live video menu
If you don’t want to see the show you were watching
in the live video window in TiVo Central, just press
the Slow button to hide it. Want it to reappear?
Just hit the Slow button again.
Mini Guide
Press Select while watching TV on the main
gateway and the mini screen will pop up.
How to get to My Shows in a jiy?
Double click the TiVo Central button to get to
My Shows.
Quick delete
Press the Clear button on the remote to delete
a show or entire folder.
Recover a deleted show
Did someone accidentally delete your show? No
problem. TiVo can recover it for you. Navigate to the
bottom of your My Shows folder where you will see
a Recently Deleted Recordings folder. Click on the
folder, select the show you want and recover it.
Train your TiVo
Teach TiVo what shows you love and what you don’t.
Your TiVo will listen and learn - and make even
better recommendations. Simply press the Thumbs
Up or Thumbs Down buttons up to 3 times to say
how much you really love or dislike a show.
Turn TiVo suggestions on or o
Record a show
Press the Record button on your remote to start a
recording at any time.
Record a series or multiple
episodes with OnePass
It’s easy with the OnePass function. From the guide,
select a show that you want to record select OnePass
and Other options > Create OnePass.
If you want to change the parameters of your OnePass,
select Options.
TiVo suggestions will automatically record programs
that it thinks you will like. To turn Tivo suggestions
on or o: From the TiVo Central select Settings &
Messages > User Preferences > TiVo Suggestions.
Highlight Yes to record TiVo Suggestions, or No to
turn them o, and then press Select.
Faster fast forward
Press the Fast-forward button and you’ll begin
scrolling through a show. Want to go faster? Press
Fast-forward again. Really want to move through
a show? Press the Fast-forward button a third time.
Press the Rewind button in a similar fashion to
access three speeds of rewinding.

Skip to tick
Get where you want to go quickly!
Press Fast-forward button then Advance button .
Skip the ads or catch that replay
Press the Advance button to instantly jump forward 30
seconds and bypass ads. Press and hold the Advance
button and you catch up to live TV. Miss that great
sports play or punch line of a funny joke? Press the
Replay button to jump back 8 seconds.
Use your tuner swap to the max
Watch two shows live without skipping a beat. Say
you’re on one tuner in real-time, selecting Live TV
allows you to switch to another tuner where you’re
free to rewind and fast-forward another show. You can
switch back to the other tuner and rewind to catch up
on what you missed. It’s a sports fan favourite.

Lets you watch a show 30% faster, while letting you
hear what everyone is saying. Quick Mode is available
while you’re watching a recorded show, or if you’re
behind live TV (for instance, if you have rewound a
show that’s airing live).
Here’s how to use it:
A. While watching a recorded show, press the Play
button on your remote to bring up the status bar.
B. Press Select to start Quick Mode.
C. When you’re finished watching in Quick Mode,
press Select again to resume watching at
normal speed.
B. Press Guide and find your show
C. Press Get Show
D. Record this Show
Find your lost remote
Finally - an easy way to locate that pesky missing
remote! Simply press the Remote Finder button on
the back of your TiVo receiver and your missing
remote will sing a tune.
Video On Demand & Pay Per View orders
PPV and VOD orders cannot be cancelled through
the set top box once ordered. You will have to
phone customer care at 1-866-363-2225 to cancel
the order.
