Emergency Stops - Design Update
Doc ID, 1SFC151056K0201. January 2016, Rev A.
New design due to changes in standards
According to the new regulations in IEC 60947-5-5
emergency stops are no longer allowed to have markings or
labels in white. When it is necessary to identify the direction
of the unlatching of the actuator, this identification should
have the same or nearly the same color as the actuator.
Please have a look at the figure to gain a better
understanding of the how the safety of machinery standard
ISO 13850 is connected to IEC 60947-5-5.
Consequences of the new design
Because of these changes in regulations we will change the
design of both compact and modular range, illuminated and
non illuminated, for both twist and pull release emergency
stops this year. We will keep the same article numbers and
the transition period will start the 1st April, 2016.
