Product assessments

The product assessment was based on BS EN 12942:1998 +A2:2008, the English language version of
EN 12492:1998+A2:2008, respiratory protective devices – Power assisted filtering devices incorporating full face
masks, half masks or quarter masks.

Basic description

The major components of the system are the 3M 7900PF Full Facepiece, the 3M Versaflo TR-603E-ASB Powered Air
Turbo Unit, the 3M BT-50 Breathing Hose (and optional 3M RTN-01 Retainer), the 3M TR-632 Battery Pack and the
3M TR-6710E P Filter or 3M TR-6110E A1P Filter.

The Full Facepiece is the subject of a separate EC Certificate.

Additional characteristics of the system’s components

The Powered Air System satisfies the following requirements:
BS EN 60529:1992 - Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP code).
Protected against spraying water IPX4.
Dust protected IP5X.
The Powered Air Turbo Unit and Battery Pack when fitted with the 3M Cleaning Plugs and 3M Battery Strap
respectively satisfy the following requirements:­Protected against water immersion IPX7.
Dust tight IP6X.

The 3M TR-603E-ASB Powered Air Turbo Unit also complies with the requirements of the Electromagnetic
Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC.

Certificate validity.

The Certificate holder is responsible for ensuring that the Notified Body is advised of changes to any aspect of the
overall processes utilised in the manufacture of the product, failure to so do could invalidate the Certificate in respect of
production following the introduction of such changes.

The validity of the Certificate is also dependent on the maintenance of the EC quality of production by monitoring
system PPE Article 11B as referenced on BSI Certificate CE 595701.
