1. Description
The tuning fork with plotter pen is used to
demonstrate sound vibrations and to record a curve
of the vibration on a sheet of paper.
A pen holder can be attached to one prong of the
tuning fork, while a counterweight is screwed to the
other prong.
The fork is set into vibration by pressing the prongs
together and releasing them.

• Fix the holder with the plotter pen to the tuning
fork prong.
• Clamp the handle of the tuning fork firmly to the
stand.
• Adjust the height of the tuning fork so that the
plotter pen rests lightly on the paper.
• Press the prongs together and release them
abruptly.
• Pull the paper along at a steady speed under the
vibrating tuning fork.
