3- Connect the hose directly to the FlowKeeper valve or
use the 45º elbow to connect the FlowKeeper to the
hose. (Use the best combination to prevent the hose
from kinking).
Installation:
Hose Length and Float Location
1- Assemble enough hose sections to reach the
farthest point away from the connection point, and then
add one more section.
2- Position the hose float on the first hose section,
about 9 inches from the cleaner head

Installation:
Flow
Once the hose is attached to the wall or skimmer, prime the
cleaner line by holding it to a return or forcing the complete
hose under water. Keeping the hose submerged, attach the
blue quick connect to the end of the hose. Click the Flow
Gauge onto the connector and turn on the pump. The red
indicator should be on 3.
Too Low (0-2)
1- Check pool filter and baskets.
2- Verify that valves controlling the suction lines are in the correct
position. Adjust as needed.
Too High (4-6)
1- Verify that valves controlling the suction lines are in the correct
position. Adjust as needed.
2- Lower the setting on the FlowKeeper.
3- Open main drain slightly to reduce flow as needed.
Flow Gauge
INSTALLATION
Installation:
Cleaner Head

Note: in some pools where the cleaner either doesn’t climb the walls or it
comes out of the pool, the flow may need to be adjusted from the factory
recommendations. First confirm proper float location and adjusting the
flow as needed by watchi ng the cleaner movement for 5 to 10 minutes.
Troubleshooting:
Cleaner Movement
While observing the MX8 Clean er, it is crucial to un derst a nd
that each one has a dyna mic, or unique pattern. Th i s represents
the movements:
1- The cleaner timing cycle repeats approximately every 30 minutes.
2- There are 12 long runs of between 30 and 40 seconds.
3- There are 5 full reverses of approximately 4, 5, 6, 9, and 15 seconds.
(Not in that order).
4- There are 5 overlapping turns that will produce short duration full
