This Quick Setup Guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up your AC-1028 In-Wall

SETUP REQUIREMENTS
Before installing your AC-1028 access point, be sure that you have the following:
A computer from which you can access the AP Web interface
A CAT5 UTP cable of required length
Phillips screwdriver
Wire stripper/cutter
Punch down tool
Needle-nose pliers (Optional)
IMPORTANT: The mFi Switch is to be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local
electrical codes and regulations.
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH; turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse before
installing.
Hardware Installation
STEP 1: Remove the wall outlet
Unplug the phone or networking device from the existing wall outlet if any. Remove the outlet from
the wall.
Note: The recommended telephone wall outlet dimensions are 86mm by 86 mm.
STEP 2: Connect the Ethernet Cable
1. Pull out the Ethernet cable from a PoE switch in the wall. Cut off the RJ-45 connector and stripping
away 12 mm (½") of insulation from the end of each wire.
