Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I did not mean to but I operated the oven when it was empty. Can this break the microwave?

A: Yes, it can break the microwave. If it is empty and switched on fires within the device can occur which can cause some serious damage.

Q: Should I hesitate in eating the food which was cooked in a microwave oven?

A: There is no fear in consuming food cooked in microwave ovens as it is only a source of heating. Cooking is also done from gas and electricity hence the use of microwaves is harmless.

Q: When I use the microwave oven, I notice there is moisture in it. Why do I experience this?

Aside from the microwave oven being used regularly, moisture on the interior walls inside it shouldn’t alarm you. Because it is normal to find moisture after cooking or heating food. Steam condenses on the refrigerator's cooler surface and results in surplus moisture. After every use, ensure to wipe the interior surfaces of your microwave oven to prevent any moisture from accumulating.

Q: The oven's built-in lamp seems to grow dimmer when I switch to Variable Power mode. Why is this so?

A: This is to be expected and is a sign that the oven is functioning and cycling properly.

Q: Microwave cooled foods seem to cool much faster than foods cooked in the conventional manner. Please provide insight as to why this occurs.

A: Food that was stored in a refrigerator is often reheated in a microwave without the containers being transferred, for example if Steel containers used were taken out of the refrigerator. If this happens, the cold plate would take heat from the food; this would require for the food to be cooked for longer; it is because of this that most plates are not recommended to be used in microwaves.
