THIS PRODUCT IS FOR USE IN THE G.B. AND I.E. ONLY
The DART/DARTMOOR stove has been individually designed to add traditional charm and character to your home. Providing a highly efficient heat source, the DART/DARTMOOR has the look and charm of a 'real' stove coupled with the convenience of clean burning gas.
The stove is designed to run both off natural or LPG gas however each individual appliance is only capable of running off the type of gas specified at the time of purchase.
It is important to note that once a type of gas has been specified the stove cannot run off any other type. The type of gas which your stove is capable of burning is stated on the data information panel (See Paragraph 3).
Important Notes
a) These instructions have been compiled in accordance with BS 5258 Part 13: 1986.
Ensure that the stove corresponds to the type of gas it is to be used with. This can be confirmed by checking the data badge located on the rear face of the appliance.
Prior to installation it is essential that the chimney should be swept and its condition and suitability for use with the appliance checked.
Remember at all times this product is concerned with high temperatures, and appropriate care should always be taken.
Bear in mind that the heat given off by the appliance may afIect articles placed close to it. Curtains should not be positioned above the appliance at a distance less than 12" (30 centimetres) from the top.
The appliance was not designed to be used as a dryer. It is therefore not recommended that the appliance is used in such a manner.
Under no circumstances should the appliance be operated with the front removed or the door glass damaged.
A combustible shelf may be fitted over the appliance provided that in the case of a
150mm or less deep shelf, there is at least 610mm clearance above the top of the fire
(measured from its highest point).
Please remember that parts of the appliance will get hot during and after use.
If young children, the elderly, or infirm are likely to be near the stove,
ensure a suitable fire guard (BS 6539 or BS 6778) is erected
The appliance is fitted with a thermostatic switch (TTB) which senses any excess temperature due to a flue blockage. In the event of a partial or total blockage the gas supply will be automatically cut. Should this occur turn the control knob to the off position and wait approximately 10 minutes for the switch to automatically reset.

On repeated operation of the thermostatic switch the stove should be turned off and under no circumstances re-lit until specialist advice has been obtained from your dealer.
Whilst the appliance is called a 'stove' the DART/DARTMOOR is not designed to be used in any way as a cooker. The stove should not be used for any other purpose than as a room heater and decorative stove.
This appliance is designed solely for use in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
The installation must be in accordance with the Gas Safety Installation

Use Regulations 1994 amend revised 1997 and with these instructions, and all the relevant parts of the Local and National Building Regulations, and the recommendations of the relevant British Standards Codes of Practice.
b) It is required by law that any appliance using natural or LPG gas is installed by
a competent person (e.g. CORGI registered), in conjunction with these instructions and the requirements as laid down in the relevant Regulations and British Standards:
- The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1994 revised 1997
- The Building Regulations (issued by the Department of the Environment)
- The Building Standards (Scotland)(Consolidation) Regulations
APPLIANCE TO BE INSTALLED IN
ACCORDANCE TO NATIONAL REGULATIONS
Installation must only be undertaken by a competent person e.g. CORGI REGISTERED and in conjunction with the installation instructions.
Installers will be supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions in a separate booklet.
This will be left by the fitter once installation has been undertaken.
To comply with the Building Regulations issued by the Department of the Environment, the following points should be noted when choosing a hearth :-
i) The hearth must be made of non combustible material of thickness 12mm minimum. ii) The hearth must protrude at least 150mm in front of the stove coals and 150mm
each side.
iii) The hearth must not be capable of inadvertent covering by a carpet or rug. This
should be achieved by either:
a) the hearth being 50mm (2") above the level of the room floor. b) a fender or kerb around the edge of the hearth to a height of at least 50mm (2")
above the t1oor.
