PROPELLING PENCIL
Using the Propelling Pencil
Hold the barrel of the pencil and rotate
the cap to propel or retract the lead as
required.
Refilling with Lead
Pull out the cap section (1)
and turn in an anti-clock
wise direction until the
slider (2) is completely
unscrewed from the barrel
(3). Push the slider grip
(4) along to expose the
lead holder (5) and any
remaining lead, hold the
slider grip firmly between
thumb and forefinger and
push down towards the
slider grip. The resulting
spring action will release
the lead. Unscrew the refill
nut (6) and remove a spare
lead from inside the barrel.
Replace the refill nut.
Insert the new lead into the
lead holder, ensuring it is
pushed fully into place.
(Failure to push the new lead right into
the holder may cause it to move up and
down when writing.) Move the slider
grip back along the slider towards the cap
section, and insert the whole slider
mechanism into the barrel. Screw the
cap section back over the refill nut, then
the cap clockwise until lead appears at
the tip of the pencil.

BALL PEN
Using the Ball Pen
Hold the barrel of the pen and rotate the
cap to propel or retract the point as
required.
Replacing the Refill
First, retract the point into the barrel.
Then continue to turn the cap in an anticlockwise direction. The cap unit can
then be unscrewed from the barrel.
Remove the old refill and replace with a
new one. This should be pushed firmly
into the centre tube of the cap unit.
Screw the cap back into the barrel as far
as it will go, then turn the cap to propel
the point.
FOUNTAIN PEN
The pen is supplied with a convertor
for use with traditional bottled ink.
Cartridges may also be used.
Refilling the Convertor
Unscrew the barrel to reveal the
convertor. This contains a small piston,
and works on the same principal as a
syringe; ink is drawn into the convertor
by suction as the piston is retracted.
Turn the end of the piston mechanism
towards you until it comes to rest.
Immerse the nib completely in the ink
and turn the piston slowly to draw ink
into the convertor. When the piston is
fully retracted, advance it again slowly
allowing a few drops of ink to drip back
into the bottle. Wipe the nib clean with
a tissue and screw the barrel back
together.
Changing the Ink Cartridge
For ease, we recommend that two ink
cartridges are stored in the barrel back to
back so that a spare is always available.
When one cartridge is empty, unscrew
the barrel and push a new one in place.
For convenience, remember to add a
second full cartridge.

Cleaning the Pen
Remove the convertor by pulling it away
from the pen and fill it with luke-warm
water. (Do not use detergents.) Re-attach
it to the pen and turn the piston mechanism
to push the water through until it comes
to rest. Repeat this process until the
water becomes clear. Wipe the case of
the pen with a soft paper towel. Then,
either replace the convertor and fill with
ink, or insert a cartridge.
Caring for your
YARD-O-LED
Our writing instruments are not treated
with finishing lacquers but left in a
natural state which gives them their
unique lustre.
After a time, or if your pen is not in
regular use, it can tarnish or lose its
original shine. A polish with a soft
jeweller’s cloth or a general silver
polish will regain its sparkle.

Guarantee
Yard-O-Led writing instruments that
have a serial number stamped on the
pen clip are covered by a life time
guarantee subject to the following
conditions: -
The writing instrument guarantee covers
faulty workmanship and faulty materials
only.
It does not cover normal wear and tear
arising from daily usage.
Any claim made for warranty repair or
replacement must be accompanied by a
completed warranty card (this will have
been completed by the retailer at the
time of purchase) or the retailer’s sales
receipt.
The warranty is not transferable and so
applies to the original first owner only.
All returns will be assessed by the
Yard-O-Led factory workshop to determine
the cause of any fault.
Any item repaired under warranty will be
done so free of charge and will be
returned free of charge.
The cost for returning the item to the
Yard-O-Led workshop (or courier cost if
from overseas) is for the original
purchaser’s (owner’s) account.
Should the writing instrument be
modified and/or changed in any way from
its original specification, this warranty
becomes void.
This warranty does not affect your
statutory rights.

Garantie
Jedes Yard-O-Led Schreibgerät verfügt über
eine eigene Yard-O-Led Serien-Nummer,
welche auf dem Clip eingestanzt ist und zu
folgenden Bedingungen für eine lebenslange
Garantie bürgt:
Um die genaue Ursache der Reklamation zu
ermitteln, werden alle Rücksendungen von
Yard-O-Led sorgfältig geprüft.
Die Garantie umfasst nur material- und
verarbeitungsbedingten Mängel.
Die Garantieregelung umfasst nicht
den Verbrauch von Bleistift- oder
Kugelschreiberminen sowie eine Reparatur
bei Mängeln, welche durch unsachgemäße
Handhabung oder Beschädigung durch
Dritte entstanden sind.
Für den Fall, dass Sie Ihr Yard-O-Led –
Schreibgerät an uns einsenden, fügen Sie
der Sendung bitte den Kassenbon oder den
Garantieschein bei, welchen Sie beim Kauf
des Schreibgerätes ausgefüllt vom Händler
erhalten.
Die Garantie ist nicht übertragbar und somit
nur für den Erstkäufer gültig.
Für Reklamationen, die in der Garantie
liegen, entstehen Ihnen keine Kosten für die
Reparatur oder der Rücksendung.
Die Kosten für die Einsendung an Filofax
Deutschland übernimmt der Käufer oder
der Besitzer des Schreibgerätes.
Wird das Schreibgerät nachträglich in
irgendeiner Art verändert, erlischt die
Garantie.
Diese Bedingungen berühren in keiner
Weise die gesetzlichen Garantierechte.

Garantie
Les instruments d’écriture Yard-O-Led
qui ont un numéro de série gravé sur
l’agrafe sont couverts par une garantie à
vie sujette aux conditions suivantes :
La garantie couvre les éventuels défauts
de fabrications.
Elle ne couvre pas l’usure normale
résultant de l’utilisation quotidienne.
Chaque réclamation faite pour la
réparation ou le remplacement d’une
pièce doit être accompagnée du fascicule
de garantie complété (cela aura été
effectué par le détaillant au moment de
l’achat avec le numéro du stylo, la date
d’achat et le tampon du magasin) ainsi
que du ticket de caisse.
La garantie n’est pas transmissible et
s’applique uniquement au premier
propriétaire de l’instrument d’écriture.
L’atelier Yard-O-Led à Birmingham
évaluera tous les retours pour déterminer
s’il s’agit d’un défaut de fabrication ou
non.
Chaque article sous garantie, comportant
un défaut de fabrication, sera réparé
gratuitement à l’exception des frais de
port.
Si l’instrument d’écriture subit des
modifications et/ou des changements, la
garantie ne sera plus valable.
Cette garantie ne concerne pas vos droits
statutaires.

Garanzia
Le penne Yard O Led che hanno il
numero di serie impresso nella clip sono
coperte da una garanzia a vita secondo le
seguenti condizioni:
La garanzia copre difetti mi manifattura
e soltanto difetti nei materiali.
La garanzia non copre la normale usura
da utilizzo quotidiano.
Qualsiasi richiesta presentata per la
riparazione o sostituzione in garanzia
deve essere accompagnata dal tagliando
di garanzia (debitamente compilato dal
rivenditore al momento dell'acquisto) o
dallo scontrino fiscale.
La garanzia non è trasferibile ma
strettamente personale ed è valida solo
per il primo proprietario/acquirente della
penna.
Tutti i resi saranno analizzati dal personale
Yard O Led per determinare le cause del
difetto.
Per ogni oggetto riparato in garanzia
non saranno addebitate né spese di
riparazione, né costi di trasporto.
Il costo per l'invio del prodotto difettoso
presso Yard O Led sarà a carico del
proprietario/acquirente.
Qualora la penna risulti modificata
rispetto alle specifiche originali, decade
la garanzia.
La garanzia non influisce sui diritti legali.

Garantia
Los instrumentos de escritura Yard-O-Led
tienen un número de serie grabado en
el clip y disponen de una garantía de
por vida con sujeción a las siguientes
condiciones:
La garantía cubre defectos en la fabricación
y aquéllos materiales defectuosos o
deficientes.
No cubre el desgaste normal derivado de
su utilización diaria.
Cualquier reclamación por reparación
o sustitución debe ir acompañada de:
la tarjeta de garantía debidamente
cumplimentada (ésta debe ser rellenada
por el detallista en el momento de la
compra) o bien del justificante de compra.
La garantía no es transferible y tan sólo
se aplica al primer propietario.
Todas las devoluciones serán evaluadas
por el taller de fábrica Yard-O-Led para
determinar la causa.
Cualquier elemento reparado bajo la
garantía se realizará de forma gratuita y
será devuelto de forma gratuita.
Fuera de garantía, el coste de envío y
devolución de la pieza procedente del
taller Yard-O-Led será por cuenta del
comprador (propietario).
Si el instrumento de escritura es modificado
y / o manipulado de su forma original,
quedará anulada cualquier garantía.
Esta garantía no afecta a sus derechos
legales.
