Instructions for the Hugs® Tag with BabySense
Introduction
The Hugs® tag with BabySensefunctionality is part of the Hugs infant protection system. The tag is attached to the infant using a tamper-proof strap. From the moment of attachment, the infant is automatically enrolled in the system, and protected against abduction.
The Hugs tag incorporates a special sensor to detect if:
• the tag is removed from the infant; or
• the strap is cut.
In addition, attempting to remove the infant without authorization from the protected area will immediately cause an alarm.
The Hugs tag is also used with the optional
®
Kisses
mother/infant matching component of the Hugs system to confi rm that the correct infant is matched with the correct mother. The Hugs tag automatically emits an audible beep to indicate an incorrect match.
The Hugs tag is reusable, and does not interfere with other hospital or personal medical equipment.
The patented asymmetrical shape of the tag ensures that it does not pinch or irritate the baby’s skin, and also helps prevent it from being kicked off, while still allowing the ankle joint to move freely.
The tag is water proof which allows bathing of the infant. It is also resistant to soiling and UV light.
Note: The tag is not sterilized at the factory. You may wish to clean the tag prior to fi rst use.
