4 Description of the device:
4.1 Handpiece
The Xenox nail 35k handpiece is designed for use in the sector of foot care or pedicure, but can also be used in many other related areas, of course. A maximum rotational speed of 35,000/min and a high torque offers the best requirements for effective work with large material removal and greatest precision: The output shaft has an extremely accurate balance and is guided in highest-quality special bearings, making it extremely smooth running. A high motor output and the ergonomically sophisticated handle design guarantees efficient, fatigue-proof work in clockwise as well as in anticlockwise rotation operation. Changing the tools is quick and easy: To release and clamp the collet twist simply both housing parts against each other.
- 4 -
4.2 Description of the table control unit
The table control unit is set up on a sturdy and level surface and has a secure hold, thanks to its rubber feet.
All operating equipment (rotational speed regulating knob, clockwise-anticlockwise switching, warning light and On-Off switch) necessary for efficient work is located on the ergonomically designed front plate, comprehensible symbols on the front foil guarantee intuitive operation; everything is carefully considered and arranged correctly: Your concentration remains on the task at hand.
The connection socket for the foot controller, the changeover switch for hand/foot operation and a replaceable safety fuse is located at the rear.
A recess for the tool holder is located in the upper housing area: After completing work, the shafts of the bits and cutters can be inserted here for clean and tidy storage.
5 Before commissioning:
Attention: Please comply with the following, supplemental safety guidelines. You help reduce the risk of injuries and contribute towards the safe operation of the device!
The handpiece may not be operated without the supplied pin or matching bits
and cutters! If the collet is empty, or in the "open" position, the motor will not run and the warning LED on the control unit begins to glow.
The handpiece may only be operated with the supplied control unit!
You must comply with the rotational speed specifications of the bits and cutters
manufacturers and any other instructions for use (e.g. about contact pressure, limits in material selection, etc.)! Check the rotational speed set at the control unit each time it is switched on. Operation with inadmissibly high rotational speeds can cause the tools to break because of too high centrifugal forces! Risk of injuries!
Always wear protective goggles and a dust mask during work!
For the work described in the following, you must make sure that the handpiece
cannot start up inadvertently!
Only bits and cutters with a 2.35 mm shaft diameter can be used with the factory
installed collet. Please note that the diameters of the collet must correspond with the tool shaft.
Immediately replace worn or damaged tools! Higher actuating forces place a
load on the device mechanics which can cause the tool to break or splinter!
- 5 -
Make sure the tools are firmly seated! If not firmly seated, the tool can migrate,
Fig. 2
snap off or be flung about. Risk of injuries!
Use the handpiece rest to set down the handpiece! This guarantees the
handpiece is held securely during work breaks.
Please watch if the clamping system becomes contaminated! Contaminations
can affect the secure seat of the tool.
Have worn collets replaced immediately! Worn collets affect the secure seat of
the tool and thus pose an operating risk.
5.1 Changing tools, clamping pins or bits and cutters
Attention: The factory has clamped a 2.35 mm pin in the collet. To spare the sensitive collet mechanics and guarantee its high precision, we recommend leaving either this pin or a bit and cutter clamped in.
Please note that the shaft of the bits and cutters should be inserted as far as possible (but at least 10 mm) into the collet for secure clamping. Short clamping increases the mechanical load while working with the device and prevents the secure seating of the tool.
Attention: To change the tools, the handpiece must be switched off and/or it may not be connected to the control unit!
Twist the clamping ring 1 (Fig. 2) of the handpiece against the housing 2. The clamping ring engages lightly in the end position. Remove the tool or pin 3 and insert a new tool or pin in the collet. Make sure to clamp the bits and cutters as short as possible, i.e. the shaft length projecting from the collet should be as short as possible. Twist the clamping ring in the opposite direction up to the serration. The handpiece is ready for operation.
6 Working with the Xenox Nail 35K:
6.1 Commissioning with manual rotational speed adjustment
Attention: Make sure you have a suitable mains plug with a protective earthing conductor!
- 6 -
Attention: Set the rotational speed to zero before you switch on the device!
Attention: The sliding switch on the back of the device must be set to the "hand" position.
1. Please ensure that rotational
speed adjusting knob 5 is set in the zero position.
2. Insert plug 1 (Fig. 3) at the
connecting cable of the handpiece into the designated socket 2 in the control unit.
3. Set the required direction of
rotation using switch 4
4. Switch on the device with the On-
Off switch 5.
5. Set the rotational speed using the
rotational speed adjusting knob
3. You must comply with the manufacturer’s rotational speed specifications for the bits and cutters.
Attention: The rotational speed also can be varied with the rotational speed adjusting knob during operation.
Fig. 3
6.2 Operation with rotational speed adjustment using the food pedal (accessory, not included in delivery)
The foot pedal enables convenient and fatigue-proof work without having to set down the handpiece during work to adjust the rotational speed, or without having to switch the handpiece on or off: Switching the device on and preselecting the rotational speed is done conveniently under the table with your foot. The further you push the pedal down with your foot, the higher the handpiece turns.
Attention: The sliding switch at the back of the device must be set to the "foot" position.
Insert the plug of the foot pedal connecting cable 1 (Fig. 4) in the designated socket 2 in the rear panel of the housing and position the foot pedal. The pedal pressure is used to select the working rotational speed.
Attention:
- 7 -
The rotational speed adjusting knob is without function in the foot operation mode!

For a long service life, you should clean your control unit after every use with a soft cloth or soft brush. Mild soap or other suitable cleansers may be used as well. Make sure that no fluid penetrates the interior of the device!
The external surface of the handpiece can be cleaned using a soft, possibly moist, cloth. Mild soap or other suitable cleanser (e.g. isopropanol) may also be used. Do not use solvents, as these could attack the plastic housing casings.
Make sure that no cleansers penetrate the interior of the handpiece! Caution when using compressed air for cleaning: The dirt or dust that penetrates
could damage the handpiece. Please do not oil the handpiece! The oil could flush out the grease filling of the
installed ball bearings.
7.1 Replacing the carbon brushes
Because of wear, it will be necessary to replace the carbon brushes of the motor after a certain period of use. If the motor of your handpiece no longer works properly, we recommend first checking the carbon brushes and replacing them as necessary. Included in the delivery of your handpiece is one set (2 pieces) of carbon brushes, but you can also purchase them from our service department. You will also find the address in the chapter
