Additional information and updates to the present user manual are available on www.xdomsolutions.com. Quality and simplicity of the XDOM® PRO use experience represent the main advantage of the product, compared with more traditional “domotic” solutions.
Prerequirements
The XDOM® PRO have been design to remotely operate via Wi-fi connection. In case of connectivity loss, the modules are still available through local and manual commands. Therefore, before XDOM® PRO installation it is highly recommended to verify the availability of a stable Wi-fi network.
No particular settings are required to the Wi-fi router (e.g. ports, firewalls, etc). Indeed, the adopted Cloud system is structured in order to simplify the installation operations.
Moreover, the XDOM® PRO are not particularly demanding in terms of connection speed, due to limited size of communication messages exchanged between the module and the Cloud system. However, it is strongly suggested to install the modules in Wi-fi visibility conditions, in order to increase the availability of the system.
Remarks
Before installing the XDOM® PRO modules, it is necessary to carefully read the present manual, for full application of the product warranty.
This is no longer valid in case of negligence, erroneous operations, and improper usage. Moreover, the warranty is no longer valid in case of incorrect installation, i.e. any mounting operation dierent from the one described in this manual. XDOM® PRO can be installed even in presence of lighting phenomena, due to adequate design able to prevent damages to the module.
It is reccomended to follow CEI norms for adequate XDOM® PRO installation, in addition to the normative prescribed for the destination use.
It is explicitly forbidden to install XDOM® PRO for the following direct or indirect operations:
- ON/OFF of machines able to damage things or persons. As mere example, it is explicitly forbidden to install XDOM® PRO to operate robot, devices or generic equipment where an operator is required for safety reasons;
- ON/OFF of plants used to control biomedical or life-essential devices;
- ON/OFF of elevators, and similar systems not equipped with emergency opening;
- ON/OFF of systems that can put in danger persons or animals. As mere example, it is explicitly forbidden to install XDOM® PRO to control plants in close proximity of fuel deposit, ammos, gas refinement plants.
In any case, the XDOM® PRO installation shall be not able to by-pass the emergency control mechanism of the destination plant. Being XDOM® PRO a remote control system, if the module is installed in other danger situations, even if not explicitly above reported, the manufacturer cannot be liable of any consequent damage.
Description of XDOM® PRO
XDOM® PRO is available in a plastic package, with tempered glass front panel, suitable to be installed within an Italian electrical box 503E, but also within generic electrical boxes of suitable dimensions. XDOM® PRO does not contains other parts available to direct usage from the customer. Therefore, opening and manomission of the module can cause the warranty void.
Each XDOM® PRO has the following features:
- Line (to 230VAC) and Null connections;
- From one to three line outputs, controllable as ON/OFF both remotely and locally;
- From zero to three touch buttons, used to implement the local control of the module;
Dierent XDOM® PRO products are available, referring to the number of control inputs (i.e. touch buttons).
XDOM® PRO ZERO
no touch inputs. The single output channel is controlled in ON/OFF only through the XDOM® PRO app. It is suitable for installations where the touch control is not required (e.g. within the electrical motors boxes)
TYPICAL USE SCENARIO
XDOM® PRO ZERO can be used to generate the pulse control signal for an electrical gate, therefore replicating a normal remote. An external relay is typically required, to be installed within the electrical motor box, where also the XDOM® PRO shall be positioned.
XDOM® PRO ONE
one touch button. The single output channel is controlled in ON/OFF via this button and the XDOM® PRO app. It is suitable for the remote control of a single electrical equipment, even if power demanding (e.g. industrial machines) via an additional external relay.
TYPICAL USE SCENARIO
XDOM® PRO ONE can be used to ON/OFF a domestic or industrial boiler. The module shall be connected in close proximity of the boiler, and external relay is typically required.
XDOM® PRO TWO
two touch buttons. The two output channels are independently ON/OFF controlled, via the control buttons or the XDOM® PRO app. Suitable for the remote control of shutters, or to control two dierent equipment but located in the same zone (e.g. opening/close of an access gate and ON/OFF of illumination of the same environment).
TYPICAL USE SCENARIO
XDOM® PRO TWO can be fruitfully used to control shutters. Each XDOM® PRO output line can control one of the two rotating senses, up to the full opening/closure of the shutter.
XDOM® PRO THREE
three touch buttons. The three output channels are independently ON/OFF controlled, via the control buttons or the XDOM® PRO app. Suitable for illumination control of large spaces, or to control two dierent equipment but located in the same zone (e.g. opening/close of an access gate and ON/OFF of illumination of the same environment).via an additional external relay.
TYPICAL USE SCENARIO
XDOM® PRO THREE can control three ceiling or wall lights. XDOM® PRO is tailored for the installation within Italian 503E box, or in any suitable box. Ground (N) wire is required.
General view
XDOM® PRO is provided with an electrical connection breakout, located on the module rear side, available for the Line (L), Ground (N), and Output (L1, optionally L2, optionally L3) connections.
