This manual will help you safely to use the
product.

Pay attention to USB cable direction for con-
necting to PC.
The PC or the player would be damaged
if you connect the USB cable with wrong
direction. Never use damaged USB cable.
Do not place any heavy device on the player.
Do not drop the player in the water.
It can be classified as flooded and the war-
ranty will be unacceptable.
Do not leave the player in hot or humid
area and do not touch the player with wet
hands. Do not use water and the chemical to
clean the player but just clean up the player
with soft clean clothes.
Keep out of sunlight directly and extreme
heat and cold, because it may occur player 's
malfunctions.
Do not be exposed in high volume(over 25
level) continuously, it may injure your hearing.
Be careful of backing up your data.
The data in the player may be deleted during
usage.
We are not responsible of any damage or the
lost which you didn’t back up on your PC.
Make sure Service Center doesn't have any
responsibility of backing data up while servic-
ing.

2. PC Software
LDB manager
The LDB Manager is the synchronization program
that enables to play mp3 files such as music and
language
and to enter synchronization in the lyric while
playing music files.
You can check the contents of the file being play-
back thru LCD windows by playing the
file made this way in the device supporting XCube
LDB Manager.

Installing LDB Lyrics Manager
Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM driver
Select and execute the "LDB Manger"
To continue, select language which you desire.
Click "Next" to install XCube LDB Manager
Read the License Agreement and click "Yes".
Select the folder to install and then click "Next".
Click "Next" after confirming the installation
folder.
Installation is in processing. Click "Finish" after the
installation is finished.
Marking the LDB
Select the music folder on the left.
Check the file information, Name/Marking
status/Size and time on the right
Search a music file to mark a lyric and click
“Marking”
Click "OK" to finish marking the LDB.
Check the marking status on the LDB manager
screen after marking the LDB.
If the marking is completed, Marking says the
MX-300. If not, you can see "NO" on the LDB
manager screen.
Searching Lyrics
Click the Search or double click a music file to
search Lyrics
Input the Singer and Title personally or click the
Singer and Title from ID3 Tag Info. on the left and
then click "Search".
To check the Lyrics of the music file, click a result
after searching.
Click "OK" after Lyric Marking is completed.
Note : Before marking the Lyrics, check its infor-
mation of Time on the ID3 Tag Info.
Delete Lyrics
To delete Lyrics, choose the music file and click
“Delete” on the Menu Bar or delete the lyrics using
right button of mouse.
To confirm, click “Yes”.
LDB Lyrics Manager Setup
To confirm the XCube LDB Setup Status, check
the Option
- ID3v1 tag modifies : ID3v1 tag automatically
modifies when marking
ID3v1 tag doesn’t modify : ID3v1 tag won’t be
modified automatically when marking.
If ID3v1 tag doesn’t exist, it writes.
Movie Transcoder
For enjoying the movie in the X-405, Transcoder
should be installed in advance.
Also transcorded movie file should be saved in the
“mvideo” folder.
1. What is Transcoder?
Transcoder makes the movie format from
WMV, ASF, MPG, AVI , Divx to SMV format

· Software requirements
· Above Microsoft Windows 98/ 98 SE/
2000/ XP
· Above Microsoft DirectX 9.0, Microsoft
Media Player 9.0
· DivX codec & other codec(K-Lite Mega
Codec Pack is recommended)
· During the transcoding, we recommend not
to do other computer work for preventing
from an error.

2. How to install
1) Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM
driver..
2) Select and execute the “Transcoder”
3) Press [Next] button in the setting screen
4) Press [Install] button in the installation screen.
5) Press [Finish] button to complete the installa-
tion.
6) The icon of M_Video is made in the PC
3. Transcoding
1) Select your desired movie in the [Input video]
by […]
After selecting the movie, Active movie window
will be come. Do leave it in the PC
2) Select the saving folder in the [Output file] by
[…].
3) Select desired frame number from 4 to 25 in
the [Frame rate]
Basic frame is 15, as number is bigger, the playing
is smooth but file capacity is bigger.
4) Select the movie size in the [Dimension]
Basic size is 128*96
5) Click [Convert] to start transcoding(If you press
[Cancel] button, the transcoding will be stopped)
6) Transcoding is over, [Job completed] will be
displayed in the [Input video].
Then press [Quit] to get out of mode.
If you want to convert the part of movie, select
< Start / End > in the [Selection]
and then select the section by adjusting the bar.
Press [Convert], only selected blue section will be
converted.
ILC (Image & Logo Converter)
1. How to install
1) Insert the Installation CD to your CD-ROM
Drive.
2) Click the Image & Logo Converter.
3) If the program doesn’t be installed automati-
cally, execute “ILConverter_install.exe”.
4) Click “Next” to continue the installation.
5) Carefully read the instruction and click “Yes”
to continue.
6) After installation, you can enjoy ILC converter
2. How to use logo converter
ILC converter makes Logo from bmp, gif, jpg,
pcx, ico, tif, wmf , wbmp, mng to bmp format.
Starting logo is composed of 10 bmp files, Ending
logo is composed of 5 bmp files.
1) Making a new logo
Select “Startup” or “Ending” Logo at the menu.
Click “ Open” or Drag the image which you
want.
Convert the images.
Double click or drag the logo files.
Locate all files on the slot and check the
“Preview”.
Click "Save Logo" to save the files on your PC and
click "Send logo to player".
2) Editing a image file
You can edit the image files with Brightness, Con-
trast, Invert, Rotate, Sharpness and Softness.
Brightness : Adjust the brightness.
Rotate : Rotate image file in CCW 90°, CW 90°
and 180°.

Invert : Reverse image pixel and color
Softness : Soften image files.
Sharpness : Sharpen image files
Contrast : Adjust the Contrast.
3) Editing a existed logo file
Click “Open” or Drag the Previous file, saved as
“.slg” or “.elg”.
Drag the image which you want to change into
the Preview Screen.
Or click “ Open” or drag the files to the Preview
Screen.
Check the image on the Preview Screen and
adjust the images as you want.
Locate the image to the proper position by
double click or drag the image.
Locate all files on the slot and check the
“Preview”.
Click “Save Logo” to save the files on your PC
and click “Send logo to player”.
3. How to use screen saver
ILC converter makes Screen saver from bmp,
gif, jpg, pcx, ico, tif, wmf , wbmp, mng to bmp
format.
Screen saver is composed of 10 bmp files.
1) Making a screen saver
Select [Screen save] in the setting menu.
Click “ Open” or Drag the image which you
want.
Convert the images.
Double click or drag the logo files.
Locate all files on the slot and check the
“Preview”.
Click "Save screen save " to save the files on your
PC and click "Send logo to player" .
3. Basic Operation
(1) Turning On/Off
Turning On
Long press <ll> to turn on.
Turning Off
Long press <ll> to turn off.
(2) Holding
Press “HOLD” button, all buttons are not working
at all. And LOCK image is shown on the display.
To release the holding, long press “HOLD” button
again.
(3) Recharging
It can be charged by optional AC charger or by
connecting to your PC directly.
Don’t leave the player for a long time once
completed. Even you turn off , the player spend a
battery for sustaining clock function. If all battery
is out, the clock will be reset. Recommend to
recharge the battery once in a week.
Recharging with USB port
Slide out USB connector in your player and directly
connect to your PC USB port.
Or connect the USB connector with provided USB
cable first, and then reconnect USB cable to you
PC USB port.
The recharging time is 5 or 6hrs and it will be
charged automatically.
While recharging, charging LED turns Red and
turning Green is once completed.
Don’t leave the player for a long time once
completed.

Recharging with Charger (provided)
Slide out USB connector in your player and con-
nect to AC charger.
The recharging time is 5 or 6hrs and it will be
charged automatically.
While recharging, charging LED turns Red and
turning Green is once completed.
Don’t leave the player for a long time once
completed.
Quick Recharging
During the recharging, if HOLD button is switched
on or you select <Quick recharge> mode in the
setting menu , you can do Quick recharging with
approx. 2 or 3hrs.
While recharging, charging LED turns Red and
turning Green is once completed.
(4) Connecting /Disconnecting to PC
Windows 98/SE user should install driver in
the Installation CD first. (No need for Window
ME/2000/XP user)
1. Connecting to PC directly
Slide out USB connector in your player and directly
connect to your PC USB port.
2. Connecting to PC by USB cable
Connect the USB connector with provided USB
cable first, and then reconnect USB cable to you
PC USB port.
3. Disconnecting to PC
For safely removing the player from PC, right click
the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon.
Select the correct hardware to remove and click
“Stop”, and then Click the “OK” button then
“close” button after confirming the Safely Re-
move Hardware message
(For Windows 98 user, remove “NME XCube
series USB Device” in the device manager of
Control panel.
(5) Adding /Deleting a file
1. Adding a file
1) Connect the player to PC USB port directly or by
provided USB cable.
2) Select a file which you want to transfer into
the player.
3) Drag or copy and paste the files to the Remov-
able disk (ex. Disk E or F)
2. Deleting a file
1) Connect the player to PC USB port directly or by
provided USB cable.
2) Select a file which you want to delete from the
player
3) Select “Delete” by clicking the right mouse.
(6) Inserting /Withdrawing External memory
card
1. Inserting external memory card
Insert Micro SD card into the bottom hole. If well
be inserted, you can hear clicking sound.
2. Withdrawing external memory card
Re-push Micro SD card, card will be withdrawn by
clicking sound

Image viewer
- Play the stored image file. (JPEG format).
- Only play (.jpg) in the PHOTO folder. No
play in any other location. No play in other
location.
- During the playback, if image viewer is on,
Music will be stopped. - Image will be resized
as LCD.
Text viewer
- Play the stored text file.
- Only play (.txt) in the TEXT folder. No play in
other location.
7. Fun
Remote control
- Operate to play TV remote control function.
Game
- Operate to play a few game (Now Bio rhythm &
black Jack is available.)
(2) Starting main menu
1. Enter the Main Menu
- Long press < M > button in the music mode.
Long repress < M > button, Music mode will be
returned.
2. Movement among the Main Menu
- Shortly press REW/FF<

desired menu.
3. Select the menu / Get out of the menu

- - Long press < EQ > button while the playback.
(Whenever long press < WOW > button , the

EQ mode is changed.

- Shortly press < M > button in the music mode,
go to Navigation mode.
INTERNAL : Internal memory

- Move the cursor to desired file to play with

Adding a playlist

- After selecting file or folder, shortly press
< REC > button. When new screen is up, select
[Playlist select], and then shortly press < M >

Delete a playlist
- Shortly press < REC > in the navigation mode.
- When new screen is up, select [Playlist clear],
and then shortly press < M > button.
- Even you power off, the playlist will be kept.
(Do not support playlist function in line-in,
voice, FM, ir, text, photo folder.)
<<MOVIE>>
Play a stored movie in the player or in the con-
nected Micro SD card. It should be smv file for-
mat(*.smv) in the MVIDEO folder. which should
be transcorded by our transcorder. Whatever
original format is, the movie file should be trans-
corded by our transcoder.
1) Watch a movie/ Get Out of Movie mode
- Go to main menu , Select < MOVIE > menu,
shortly press < M > button.
- Or select a desired movie in the list with
/
button, shortly press < M > button to play.
- If shortly press < M > button during watching
a movie, the movie will be closed and then go to
the movie list.
2) Pause
- Shortly press
button during watching a
movie, the movie is paused for a while.
3) Select a movie
- Go to a previous movie
Shortly press
button, move to a next movie.
If playback time is less than 5 seconds, move to a
previous movie.
If more than 5 seconds, move back the beginning
of current movie.

5. Watch a movie from external device (card
slot)
- Long press <FUNC> button in the Moviec mode,
it will be changed to external device(card slot).
- Shortly press <
> button, music will be
played.
<<FM RADIO>>
1. Listen to FM radio
- Long press < M > button to go to Main menu.
- Select < FM RADIO > menu, shortly press < M >
button.
*There is 2 different mode, PRESET and AUTO
SCAN Mode but default setting is PRESET Mode.
Shortly press < WOW > button to select proper
frequency range like Standard, Japan and Wide-
Band.
- Shortly press button in the FM Radio, MUTE
function is setup.
2. PRESET MODE
Search the frequency by pre-set channel in the
preset mode.
Long press < M > button in the scan mode, move
to preset mode.
- Change the frequency
Shortly press
button, move to previous chan-
nel.
Shortly press
button, move to next channel.
- AUTO PRESET
Long press < WOW > button, the channel is
automatically setup.
Up to 20 stations can be preset from low fre-
quency to high frequency. If the frequency didn’t
be preset,
the last frequency will be displayed repeatedly.
- Delete the preset
Shortly press < REC >, all set frequency will be
deleted.

3. SCAN MODE
Search the frequency by auto scanning or manual
in the scan mode.
Long press < M > button in the preset mode,
move to scan mode.
- Auto scanning
Long press
button, move to a receiving previ-
ous channel.

button, move to a receiving next
channel.
- Manual scanning
Shortly press
button, the 0.1MHz is decreased.
Shortly press
button, the 0.1MHz is increased.
-Save a channel
After searching desired frequency by auto or
manual scanning, shortly press < REC > button.
The frequency is saved at preset mode with
[SAVE] confirmation.
<<RECORD>>
1. Function
Record the voice, external input with adjusted
recording quality in the setting menu.
If the cable is connected to line-in input, external
input will be recorded, otherwise the voice will be
recorded.
2. Record (Voice, External input)
- Long press < M > button to go to Main menu.
- Select < RECORD > menu, shortly press < M >
button and then recording will be started.
- If the cable is connected to line-in port, external
input will be recorded. Otherwise
the cable is disconnected to line-in port, Voice will
be recorded.
- All the record file will be saved at <VOICE,LINE-
IN,FM> folder, Internal memory.
- If you want to finish the record, shortly press
< M > button.
3. Record FM radio
- If long press < REC > button during listening to
FM Radio, the record of FM Radio will be started.
- If the cable is connected to line-in port, external
input will be recorded. Otherwise
the cable is disconnected to line-in port, FM Radio
will be recorded.
- If you want to finish the FM recording, shortly

- Long press < REC > button in the < MUSIC >
mode.
- If you want to finish the Quick voice recording,
shortly press < M > button.
Quick line-in recording
- Long press < REC > button when the cable is
connected to line-in port.
- If you want to finish the Quick line-in recording,
shortly press < M > button.

1. Listening to the Recorded
- Long press < M > button to go to Main menu.
- Select < Rec.Play > menu, shortly press < M >
button.
- Select your desired file to play with

Image viewer
1) How to use image viewer
- Long press < M > button to go to Main menu
- Select < VIEWER > menu, shortly press < M >
button.
- And then select < IMAGE VIEWER >, shortly
press < M > button
- When the image list is up, select desired file,
shortly press < M > button.
- Shortly press REW/FF<
/ >button, go to
previous/next image.
- Shortly press REW/FF<
/ >button or
< WOW > button in the list, go to high folder.
* Music can’t be played during the image viewer.
- *.jpg,*.bmp can be used , it should be saved at
<PHOTO>folder in internal memory.
Music can’t be played during the image viewer.
- Shortly press REW
button, move to viewer
selecting screen.
- Long press < M > button in the viewer selecting
screen, move to Music menu.
Text viewer
1) How to use text viewer
- Long press < M > button to go to Main menu
- Select < VIEWER > menu, shortly press < M >
button.
- And then select < TEXT VIEWER >, shortly press
< M > button
- When the image list is up, select desired file,
shortly press < M > button.
- Shortly press
/ button, control text page.
* For the setup of auto-scrolling in text viewer,
press the
button.
For the clear of auto-scrolling in text viewer,
repress the
button.
2) Out of text viewer
- Shortly press REW/FF<
/ >button or
< WOW > button in the list, go to high folder.
* You can enjoy the music with text viewer, the
text file should be saved at the <TEXT> folder,
internal memory.
-Shortly press REW
button in the list, go to
viewer screen.
3) View the previous text file continuously
You can enjoy the text file from previous last part
continuously.
If you want to view from the last part of the text,
select YES.
If you would like to see the text from the begin-
ning, select NO.

1. IR Remote controller
1) Execute remote controller function
- Press Menu button < M > deeply then Main
Menu will be shown.
- Select [Remote] icon by pressing Menu button
< M > shortly after moving to [FUN] by pressing
/
- Execute[Remote] by pressing Menu button
< M > shortly
/ : Volume control
/ : Channel control
: Exit
M: Power ON/OFF control
REC : Device list control
2) Select vendor or brand of TV-SET you wish
to use
Once the list of TV-set is shown available vendor
list by pressing the button < REC >
Set by play button
after choose the vendor in
the list.
Use after direct IR port of the player to the TV-set
3) Save data of Remote controller
To use this function there must be TV-set vendor’s
data(.ira) in the IR folder of the player.
Users can download the data of TV-sets from
the web site http://www.mcody.com (currently
about 300 models are available and will be more)
2. Blackjack Rule
The blackjack plays with 52 cards. Each can get
7 pieces of cards, when you make this card to
21 points or close to 21 points, you win. The dif-
ference with other card games is this blackjack
can stop at any time when you have more than
2 cards. In other words, when you think your
points are close to 21, even you have 2 or 3 cards,
you can stop the game. You can stop at any
time, but your total point is over 21, you lose. No
matter what points does the other party have.
You lose when you have same points with the
dealer(computer).
How to start Black jack
- Long press the < M > button and go to Main
Menu.
- Select < FUN > menu, shortly press < M > but-
ton.
- Select < Black Jack >, shortly press < M > but-
ton, Blackjack will be started.
- Betting score is available from 1 to 99
- Betting screen is up, select the betting score
by
/ volume button and shortly press < M >
button.
- After receiving 2 cards, select
[HIT],[STAY],[DOUBLE] by
/ , shortly press
< M > button.
* HIT : Receive 1 additional card.
* STAY : Open the cards.
