DETAILED ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Allow for additional 1" spacing on each side of gate (between posts) for gate hinge and gate latch operation.
Note: Let "R" (in inches) represent your desired gate width(s).

- (1-1/2" x 2 sides) = Net Rail Width
5. To ensure an even gate appearance, take the calculated
Net Rail Width
and divide by two.
6. Start at the central point of horizontal rails and use
divided
Net Rail Width
to measure out to each end.
8. Use fine bit saw to cut both sides of each rail to meet Net Rail Width as shown in
FIG. 1.
13. Locate gate corner ells from gate kit box and insert gate ends as pictured in
FIG. 2.
14. Join both gate ends with attached gate ells to pre-assembled panel from step 10 as pictured in
FIG. 3

16. Locate universal gate latch from gate kit box and fasten finger latch to vertical gate frame and adjoining post as shown in
FIG. 4, 5.
Tip: Use large size flat head screwdriver to adjust. Perform one full counter-clockwise turn to set to normal tension. Apply tek-screws to secure.
Perform one full clockwise turn to return to maxium tension or leave at normal tension for smaller size gates.
18. Use provided tek-screws to secure self-close gate hinges to gate frames and adjoining gate post(s) as shown in
FIG. 5, 6.
1. Purchase a full panel section.
2. Purchase a gate kit from XCEL for non-standard size gate application(s).
3. Determine the width of your gate and adjust perimeter post spacing.
4. Reference the following detail to determine cutting points on horizontal rails.
(i.e. R=42", 42" - 1-1/2" - 1-1/2" = 39" Net Rail Width)
7. Use masking tape or a marker to set cutting points at measured distances from center of rail.
9. Assemble modified rails with applicable number of pickets.
10. Set panel aside on non-abrasive surface until needed on step 15.
11. Open gate kit box and locate 6'H gate ends.
12. Use fine bit saw to cut pre-marked 6' gate ends to fixed (H) length(s).
15. Ensure that all connections are properly joined and fasten tek-screws to all 8 points located front and back of each gate ell.
17. Locate self-closing adjustable gate hinges and unlock top cap to adjust to desired tension strength.
19. Opearate and test your new gate and clean surrounding area to complete.
