3. Introduction
The H2O Audio Series Waterproof Headphones provide audio directly into the ear through a waterproof speaker assembly at depths of up to 10ft.(3m) when coupled with the H2O Audio Series waterproof housings. The headphones include watertight speakers, made for complete submersion and designed with an adjustable frame to stay secure during the most active watersports. The headphones feature a 3.5mm stereo plug compatible with most portable audio systems.
Compatibility: These headphones are compatible with any digital audio player featuring a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. When used with a system other than the H2O Audio Series Waterproof housings, the depth rating will be limited to that of the audio player or 10ft.(3m), whichever is less.
CAUTION: These headphones insert directly into the ear, and are not to be used during SCUBA diving. Prolonged exposure to pressures at depths beyond 10ft.(3m) may result in permanent hearing loss. Discontinue use at the first sign of pain or discomfort.
4. Audio Test
Before using the headphones it is recommended you perform an audio test.
1. Plug the headphones into a standard audio jack and verify that audio is audible through both speakers.
2. At full volume, the speakers should play at a volume that is uncomfortable when played directly in the ear.
3. If your headphones are operating normally, there is no more to do.
4. If your headphones are operating at very low audio levels, it is possible that a vacuum has formed in the speaker chamber due to exposure to low pressure, such as in air travel.
5. Playing the headset at 90% volume for an hour typically solves this problem. If not, please contact H2O Audio Customer Support.
5. Wearing the H2O Audio Headphones
The H2O Audio Series Waterproof headphones feature a 'behind-the-head' design that provides a secure and comfortable fit during the most active sporting activities. Follow these simple steps to put the headphones on your head.
Bring the headphones behind your head, and spread the neckwrap
1.
apart as you position the ear-clips by your ears.
The ear-clips are designed to fit behind the ear, with the speaker arm
2.
angling into the ear canal from the top / front of the ear, as shown below. Use your fingers to arrange and tuck the ear-clip under the earlobe so that it sits comfortably against your head.
Follow the next 2 sections to adjust the fit ideally for your head.
3.
6. Adjusting headphones
The main adjustments in the headset are made in the ear-clip portion of the headphones.
The speaker arm moves up and down within the ear-clip. In most
1.
cases, it is best to start with the speaker arm pulled as far down in the ear clip as possible, and make adjustments from that point if necessary.
The speaker arm rotates within the ear-clip, allowing you to channel
2.
the audio output directly into the ear-canal.
7. Removing the Neckwrap
In some situations, the neckwrap is not desirable, such as under a swim cap. For these situations, we have designed the neckwrap to be removable. To remove the neckwrap, perform the following steps:
Rotate the ear-clip 90°, and slide off of the neck wrap.
1.
Repeat for the other side.
2.
Remove the wire clip from the back of the neckwrap and gently pull
3.
the wire away from the track.
At this point the neckwrap is removed, and is recommend you store it out of the sun with the wire clip.

8. Connecting the Headphones
The SealTight Connector (which is only featured on the H2O Audio Series Housings) is what keeps your audio connection safe and dry underwater. It is designed specifically to create a seal around the H2O Audio Series Waterproof Headphones (sold separately). Using any other headphones will not have a complete waterproof connection, and reduces the waterproof rating to water-resistant.
To create a waterproof connection, align the 3.5mm stereo plug on the
1.
headphones with the stereo jack of the housing.
Insert the headphones into the stereo jack of the housing, ensuring
2.
that the plug mates securely into the SealTight Connector. When plugging the headphones into the housing, rotate the plug a quarter turn as you insert it into the jack, this will release any air bubbles or pressure from the connection.

9. Fitting the earplugs
The H2O Audio Headphones include removable earplugs designed to keep water from freely flowing in and out of the ear canal during use. For the best performance, the earplug needs to complete a seal with the walls of your inner ear. Modifying both the length of the earplug and its angle of insertion are crucial steps in completing a seal.
Cutting the earplugs:
To customize earplugs and obtain an optimal fit use scissors to cut off the barbs one by one until desired fit. Ensure a clean cut, and remove any debris from the earplug prior to inserting into the ear.
Installing the Earplugs:
12 3 4
Align earplug with the speaker.
1.
Invert the wide opening of the earplug.
2.
Place the inverted earplug directly against the speaker shield.
3.
Wrap the earplug around the speaker until it holds securely.
4.
NOTE: Make sure the earplugs are securely in place before proceeding with use.
