Setting Up a Hot Body Detector Kit
The Hot Body Detector kit adds an alert system to your
X10 camera kit. It uses a wireless motion sensor (model
MS14A) and remote chime (model SC546) to tell you
when there's activity in an area you designate and then
switches to the camera in that area. These instructions
will tell you how to set this up. You should already have installed your multicamera system, including the transceiver module (model TM751).
Put two AAA batteries in the the motion sensor and install it in an
area where you installed a camera. You should set the motion sensor
to the same House (letter) and Unit (number) Code as the camera.
See the motion sensor instruction sheet for detailed instructions on
changing this setting.
Pick a location for the Remote Chime (model SC546) so that you will
be able to hear when it is triggered. Set the House and Unit code
dials on the Remote Chime to the same settings as the motion sensor
and camera you are using for the alert. Then, plug the chime into a
110/120V AC outlet in the area where you wish to be alerted.
Your Hot Body Detector kit is now installed and ready to signal you
when motion is detected. You can test it by leaving the room where
the motion sensor is installed and coming back a couple minutes later.
When the motion detector sees you, the remote chime will sound and
your camera will switch on. Check your TV to see that the right camera is on.
