WARNING! Some dust created by
power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints,
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement
and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-
treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies,
depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals:
• Work in a well-ventilated area, and
• Work with approved safety equipment,
such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! When using electric
gardening appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and personal injury, including the following:
WARNING: Read all instructions INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR BATTERY – OPERATED GARDENING APPLIANCES
1 Instruction Manual
1.1 The instruction manual for all batteryoperated gardening appliances shall contain the following or equivalent instructions:
a) Do not charge appliance in rain, or in wet
locations.
b) Do not use battery-operated appliance in
rain.
c) When replacing batteries, all batteries
should be replaced at the same time. Mixing fresh and discharged batteries could increase internal cell pressure and
rupture the discharge battery(ies). (Applies
to products employing more than one separately replaceable primary battery.)
d) When inserting batteries into this product,
the proper polarity or direction must be observed. Reverse insertion of batteries
can result in leakage or explosion. (Applies
to product employing more than one separately replaceable primary battery.

Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
d) Exercise care in handling batteries in order
not to short the battery with conducting
materials such as rings, bracelets, and
keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.
1.3 The instruction manual for a batteryoperated gardening appliance employing a vented wet cell battery supply intended to be initially or periodically filled by the user shall
include the term “CAUTION” followed by the
following or equivalent: “The electrolyte is a dilute sulfuric acid that is harmful to the skin and eyes. It is electrically conductive and corrosive. The following procedures should be observed: a) Wear full eye protection and protective
clothing.

instruction book carefully.
1. CHARGING YOUR BATTERY PACK
WARNING: The charger and battery pack
are specifically designed to work together so do not attempt to use any other devices. Never insert or allow metallic objects into your charger or battery pack connections because an electrical failure and hazard will occur.
2. BEFORE USING YOUR CORDLESS GRASS TRIMMER
When you charge the new battery or one which
has not been used for long periods of time, it
may not reach full charge until after you have discharged it fully in use and recharge it several times.
3. HOW TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERY PACK
Connect the battery charger to the power supply and the green light (20) will illuminate
Then,
fully insert the battery pack into the charger to make the connections and the red light (21) will illuminate to show charging has started
A discharged battery at normal ambient
temperature will take approximately 1 hours to reach full charge. Charging time may vary due to variable ambient temperatures and battery conditions. When charging is completed the green light (20) will illuminate to indicate end of charge. (See D)
Note: green = power on, red = charging, Battery pack inserted +green = charging completed
The battery pack can then be removed for use in your trimmer. The charger timer circuit and battery pack temperature safety cut-out device prevent overcharge of your battery pack.
WARNING: When Ni-Cad battery charge runs out after continuous use or exposure
to direct sunlight or heat, allow time for the
tool to cool down before re-charging to achieve the full charge.
4. TO REMOVE OR INSTALL BATTERY PACK
Locate latches on side of battery pack and depress both sides to release battery pack from your grass trimmer. Remove battery pack from
your grass trimmer (See E). After recharge
insert the battery pack into grass trimmer’s
battery port. A simple push and slight pressure
will be sufficient.
5. SAFETY ON/OFF SWITCH
Your switch is locked off to prevent accidental starting. Depress lock off button (B) then on/off
switch (A) and release lock off button (B). Your
switch is now on. To switch off just release the on/off switch (See Fig F)
Warning: The cutting head continues to rotate after the trimmer has been switched off, wait until it has stopped then lay down the tool.
