Woodoc Deck Dressing - Treatment and Maintenance for Dense Wood

WHERE TO USE PRODUCT

A tinted, oil finish for exterior application to hard, dense timber decking. Provides UV-protection and water repellence. Also suitable for roughly­sawn wood, e.g. wendy houses and fences. Recommended re-application: every 6 months or when wood looks dry.

HOW TO PREPARE THE SURFACE
General: Wood must always be clean, dry & smooth before use of product. Never wash/wipe wood with water before use of product.
New wood: Sand until smooth. Remove dust with clean, dry cloth. Then wipe with mineral turpentine.
Previously varnished/sealed wood: Remove varnish by sanding/using paint stripper. Neutralise paint stripper according to manufacturer's

instructions. Sand weathered wood to remove all traces of weathering or use Woodoc Wood Reviver. If Woodoc Wood Reviver is used, wash
down wood with water. Allow wood to dry completely. Sand until smooth. Remove dust with clean, dry cloth. Then wipe with mineral turpentine.
Oiled wood: Sand until smooth. Then scrub well with Woodoc SteelWool and mineral turpentine. Clean off residue with clean, dry cloth. Allow
surface to dry.
Wood previously treated with Woodoc Deck Dressing: Scrub well with Woodoc SteelWool/stiff brush and mineral turpentine. Clean off
residue with clean, dry cloth. Allow surface to dry.

HOW TO APPLY THE PRODUCT
Stir very well before and during application to ensure colour consistency. Do not shake or dilute product. Apply product with good quality

brush. Apply first coat until surface remains evenly glossy for at least 10 minutes after application. Apply more product to dull/dry areas. Allow
coat to dry . Apply two more coats in the same way. Insufficient application will affect completely Always apply a minimum of three coats.
durability. All aspects of the wood must be treated ensure that end grain is treated very well. The different coats may take up to 48 hours to dry, ­depending on the weather. If possible, apply first coat before assembling the deck. As the product does not form a hard film on the Caution:
surface, clothing, shoes and furniture cushions could be affected for at least 48 hours after application. Extreme weather conditions, e.g. very
high/low temperatures can influence the appearance (gloss) of the final finish.

WAAR OM PRODUK TE GEBRUIK

'n Getinte olie-afwerking vir buitenshuise aanwending op harde, digte houtdekke. Bied UV-beskerming en is waterwerend. Ook geskik vir
grofgesaagde hout, bv. tuinhuisies, gereedskapskure en heinings. Aanbevole heraanwending: elke 6 maande of wanneer hout droog lyk.

HOE OM DIE OPPERVLAK VOOR TE BEREI
Algemeen: Hout moet altyd skoon, droog en glad wees voor gebruik van produk. Moet nooit hout met water was/afvee voor gebruik van produk

nie.

Nuwe hout: Skuur glad. Vee stof af met skoon, droë lap. Vee dan af met minerale terpentyn.
Voorheen verniste/verseëlde hout: Skuur vernis af/gebruik verfstroper. Neutraliseer verfstroper volgens vervaardiger se instruksies. Skuur

verweerde hout om alle tekens van verwering te verwyder of gebruik Woodoc Houtvernuwer. Indien Woodoc Houtvernuwer gebruik word, was
hout met water af. Laat hout heeltemal droog word. Skuur glad. Vee stof af met skoon, droë lap. Vee dan af met minerale terpentyn.
Geoliede hout: Skuur glad. Skrop daarna goed met Woodoc StaalWol en minerale terpentyn. Vee hout af met skoon, droë lap. Laat oppervlak
droog word.
Hout voorheen met Woodoc Deck Dressing behandel: Skrop goed met Woodoc StaalWol/harde borsel en minerale terpentyn. Vee hout af
met skoon, droë lap. Laat oppervlak droog word.

HOE OM DIE PRODUK AAN TE WEND
Roer baie goed voor en gedurende aanwending om egalige kleuropbou te verseker. Moenie produk skud of verdun nie. Wend produk met

hoëgehalte kwas aan. Wend eerste laag aan totdat die oppervlak egalig blinknat bly vir ten minste 10 minute na aanwending. Wend nog produk
op dowwe/droë kolle aan. Laat produk word. Wend nog 2 lae so aan. heeltemal droog Wend altyd 'n minimum van drie lae aan.
Onvoldoende aanwending sal duursaamheid beïnvloed. Alle sye van die hout behoort behandel te word behandel veral die eindgrein baie ­goed. Die verskillende lae kan tot 48 uur neem om te droog, afhangende van die weer. Indien moontlik, wend eerste laag aan voordat dek
aanmekaargesit word. Aangesien die olie nie 'n harde oppervlaklaag vorm nie, kan klere, skoene en meubelkussings vuilsmeer Waarskuwing:
vir ten minste 48 uur na aanwending. Uiterste weersomstandighede, bv. baie hoë/lae temperature kan die voorkoms (glans) van die finale
afwerking beïnvloed.

DEKKING

± 3,3m² per liter (vir 3 lae)

WAARBORG

Rekara Mills (Edms.) Bpk. waarborg dat hierdie produk, soos versend vanaf ons fabriek, aan streng gehaltebeheertoetse onderwerp is en aan
duursaamheid-, veiligheid- en gehaltestandaarde voldoen. Die produk moet streng volgens die aanwysings en waarskuwings op die houer en/of
enige pamflet aan die houer geheg of daarmee saam beskikbaar gemaak, hanteer, geberg en gebruik word. Indien alle sodanige instruksies en
waarskuwings nie streng gevolg word nie, aanvaar Rekara Mills (Edms.) Bpk. geen verantwoordelikheid vir die gebruik of werkverrigting van die
produk nie.
