BEFORE BEGINNING

Identify and verify
that you have all the
parts listed. Read the
instructions at least once
to fully understand how the
HD Door Templates work.
Each set of templates (rail and panel) are the same length.
The template sets (rail and panel) are designed with a 5/16"
offset to allow the machined tongue of the panel to fit in the
machined groove in the rail, however the templates sets them­selves do not mesh together.
The HD Door Templates must be used with the HD Panel
Master (5432) and HD Frame Master (5433). Their respective
directions provide more information on using the templates.

APPLY LABELS TO TEMPLATES

Each templates part size limit (6-7", 7-8", etc.) is printed
at the top of the labels that are supplied with each template set.
To avoid the labels being damaged in shipping, it's necessary for
you to apply them.
Separate the 10 rail templates (they have notches along
one edge) and 10 panel templates (no notches) and stack them
in two piles with the shortest templates on top and the longest
on the bottom. Apply the two smallest part size labels (6-7") to
the two smallest templates, etc. See fig. 1.
Note the center mark on the bottom straight edge of each
template, which is used to align and center your work to the
template.

STOCK SIZE

The templates are designed for 4" wide rails (1-3/4" rise,
5457 & 5467) or 5" wide rails (2-3/4" rise, 5458 & 5468). The

Arched Templates (5567 or 5468) may cut a slightly narrower
width than 4" or 5", depending on the overall length of the rail.

See fig. 2.
The size of the assembled frame printed on the label will

vary if the cutting depth of your cope & pattern bit is different
from that shown, or if you don't use 2-1/4" wide stiles.
You can make your stiles wider than 2-1/4", but the rail
will never be wider than 2-1/4" at the narrowest point.
If you want rails narrower then 2-1/4", rip them down after
using the template.
