Large Cut-Off Sled
Please Read Carefully!
BEFORE BEGINNING
Identify and verify that you have all the parts listed and read thru the instructions at least once before beginning. All set-up work should be done with the saw disconnected from the power and the saw blade lowered below the table. This unit is designed for table saws with at least a 27" deep table. Do not attempt to use on table saws with smaller tables. If necessary, add additional supports to your saw to prevent the saw from tipping. This unit relies on the miter slot of your saw being parallel to the saw blade for it to work properly. If this is not the case, make those adjustments to your saw first.
MOUNT THE MITER BARS TO THE MDF BASE
Prepare the Miter Bars according to the instructions that come with them, using the hardware included.
The Cut-Off Sled can be used with the miter bars in either miter slot. We suggest you mount it in the miter slot you normally use your miter gauge in. Place the miter bars (4918B) with the countersunk holes facing down, in the miter slot. There are mounting holes for the miter bars in one of the MDF bases (4951D). Align the mounting holes in the MDF base with the threaded holes in the bars. Position the base over the bars so
that it overhangs the cutting path of the saw blade by 1/2" or less. Attach the bars to the base with the 1" screws. The
bars will overhang the base approximately 2" at each end. Recheck the fit of the bar/base assembly, making sure it slides smoothly, readjusting the plugs as necessary. See fig. 1.

Turn the saw on and cut off the overhanging edge of the base (This should be no more than 1/2"!), guiding the bar/base in the miter slot, past the saw blade. Turn the saw off, disconnect the power and lower the blade on your table saw completely.
MOUNT THE FENCES
Set the remaining MDF base (without the miter bar) on the opposite side of blade from the the miter bar/base assembly. The Ultra Track fences fit in the shallow groove of the MDF bases. Attach the two 24" Ultra Track Fences (4424) to the front of the bases and the two 12" Ultra Track Fences (4412) to the rear using the 3/4" screws (MF010) and oval nuts (5760B). Insert the screws from the bottom of the base, through the holes in the groove and start a flat oval nut on the end of each screw. Slide the Ultra Track fences on to the oval nuts, positioning the fence 1/4" away from the saw blade side of the base, and tighten the screws. See fig. 2 & 3. Attach the Brace (4951B) to the fences. Line the bases/fences up to each other and position the bases so that there is slightly less than a 1/8" gap between them. Install a washer (WB002) on sixteen of the 1" bolts (HB030). Insert the bolts through the holes in the face of the braces and start an oval nut on the end of each bolt. Slide the Brace on to the Ultra Track fence(s) until it is positioned at the center of the two fences and tighten the bolts. See fig. 3. The 24" Sub-Fences (4951C) attach to the upper T-slot in the 24" Ultra Track using the oval nuts
(5760B) and 3/4" screws (5771B). Mount the 24" tapes (3724R & 3724L) to the top of the Sub-Fences.
Attach the Straight Stop (4951S) to the top of the fence following the instructions that come with it.

INSTALL THE GUARD
Install a washers (WB002) on four 1" bolts (HB030). Insert the bolts through the holes in the Guard (4951E) and start an oval nut on the end. Slide the Guard on to the top T-slot of the fences, position it at the center of the two fences and tighten the bolts. See fig. 4.
USING THE CUT-OFF SLED
The Cut-Off Sled can be used for cut-off or dado work. With the Cut-Off Sled mounted on your table saw, slide it back and forth to determine at what point it starts tipping off the front and back edge of the saw table. Make reference marks on the MDF base at these points. During use, do not go past these marks unless you have additional support on the saw table, or you are capable of supporting the Cut-Off Sled by yourself.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
Optional 36" or 48" Ultra Tracks (4436 or 4448) are available if you need extra fence length, or you can get the 4536 Track Connector and an extra length of Ultra Track to connect to the end of the 24" Ultra Track and extend it. Either of these options will increase the weight and bulk of the Cut-Off Sled. Optional 500 lb. Toggle Clamps are available in two different models. One attaches to the MDF base (Outboard Clamp 4951OC) and one attaches to the top of the Ultra Track fence (Inboard Clamp 4951IC). See fig. 5.
