our coffee maker has been designed with a Pause & Pour feature.
A
t any time during the brewing cycle, you may temporarily remove the
g
lass carafe from the unit and pour hot coffee from the carafe. The
b
rewing cycle will be interrupted and no coffee will drip from the filte
r
b

proce

W
arning:
eturn carafe within 30 seconds if removed during brewing or filter

C
aution:
Coff
ee maker will remain ON for 2 hours unless it is turned OFF. Do not
eave an empty carafe on heated warming plate.
Place your drip co
ff
ee maker on a flat, level surface, such as a
countertop. Plug unit into a 120 volt 60Hz AC-only outlet
.
Lift the top cover of the coffee maker straight up
.
Your coffee maker comes equipped with a permanent coffee filter; however, a cone paper filter may be used instead if desired (8 to 12-cup size). To add coffee grounds to the filter first rotate the spray
head
counterclockwise until it is over the water reservoir. Place the
desired amount of ground coffee into the filter and swing the spray
head back
into position and close the lid. See the chart below to
determine the amount of coffee to use
.
Fill glass carafe with cold water up to the marked level for th
e
desired amount of coffee. Pour water from carafe into water reservoir. Close the top cover of the coffee maker. Place glass carafe, with lid i
n
place, on the warming plate
.
Important: Do not operate your coffee maker if the filter basket doe
s
not close completely. Use only cold water; the automatic brewin
g
system has been designed to work only with cold water
.
N
ote: An overflow hole is located at the back of the water reservoi
r
to prevent overfilling. Do not add water past the MAX line on indicated on the water reservoir viewing window
.
Press the ON/OFF button once. The blue power indicator light wil
l
illuminate indicating that your coffee maker has begun the brewin
g
cycle. If you wish to use the timer to preset the coffee maker, see th
e
section on “Using the Timer”. In a few minutes, your coffee maker wil
l
be finished brewing fresh coffee
.
When the brewing cycle is complete, your coffee maker will automatically switch over to a warming mode, which will kee
p
the coffee warm for the next two hours
.
Note:
We recommend using coffee ground specifically for automati
c
drip coffee makers. After using your coffee maker a few times, adjus

W
ash the carafe and carafe lid with warm, soapy water or place in top
r

T
he filter basket and permanent filter may be washed in warm,
s

p
ermanent filter and filter basket out of the coffee maker by the handle.
T
o reinsert, place the filter basket in first, followed by the permanent

Coff

nece
ssary.
I
mportant:
ever immerse the coffee maker housing in water or other liquid.
o not try to clean the inside of the water reservoir with a cloth because
t
his will leave a residue of lint and may clog your drip coffee maker. Just
r
inse with cold water periodically.
Decalcifyin
g
C
alcium buildup frequently occurs in drip coffee makers. The buildup
i
s quite normal and is caused by minerals commonly found in drinking
wate
r.
W
e recommend periodically decalcifying your coffee maker with a
s
olution of white vinegar and cold water. Use a solution of 1 cup white
v
inegar in one carafe of cold water filled to the 4-cup line.
our the solution into the water reservoir, put the empty carafe and
e
mpty filter basket in place, and close the lid. Switch the coffee maker on
a
nd allow the coffee maker to “brew” the vinegar solution.
W
hen the vinegar solution has finished brewing, empty the carafe and
r
inse in clean water. Refill the water reservoir with clean, cold water and
r
un a second “brew” cycle. This will rinse out any remaining vinegar
s
olution. If necessary, repeat this last step.
W
e recommend decalcifying your drip coffee maker four times a year or
a
t any time the brewing time takes longer than normal.
