be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and/or injury to

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely
supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING

a grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming
tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension
cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than
the rating of the appliance. The extension cord must be a grounding-type, 3-wire cord. Care
must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or

Parts and Features
1. Removable Vented Lid With Handle: Use to help with steaming or melting certain foods.
2. Nonstick Cooking Surface: Food does not stick when cooked and is easy to remove.
3. Grease Drain: Grease directed to this area leads to the drip tray.
4. Removable Drip Tray: Slides out from under the griddle for easy cleanup.
5. Temperature Dial: Use this knob to set the temperature from WARM to 450°F (232°C). Turn the knob
to the right to increase or to the left to decrease.
6. PREHEAT Light: Light turns on while heating and turns off when desired temperature is reached. Light
will continue to cycle on and off during cooking.
7. POWER Light: Turns on when plugged into an outlet and stays on until unplugged.
8. Rating Plate: Model number and rating information can be found on the bottom of the griddle.
9. Cord Wrap: Holds the cord for easy storage.
10. Power Cord: This appliance has a 3-prong plug and a clip to help it stay on the cord wrap.
Getting Started

Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse unit in any liquid.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Wash nonstick cooking surface with a cloth using hot, soapy water. Repeat with a clean
soft cloth using hot water and dry. Wipe cooking surface with a small amount of canola
or vegetable oil to season before heating for the first time. Wash drip tray and lid in hot,
soapy water. Rinse and dry.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Only use wooden or plastic heat-resistant cooking utensils to protect the nonstick
cooking surface.
SETTING THE TEMPERATURE
• The temperature can be adjusted from WARM to 450°F (232°C).
• PREHEAT light turns on when griddle is preheating. The light will turn off when the
griddle reaches the desired temperature. The light will continue to cycle on and off
during cooking.

GETTING STARTED
USING THE GRIDDLE
NOTES:
• Use only wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils (450°F [232°C]) that are safe for
nonstick surfaces.
• Drip tray should be emptied after every use. See step 4.
1. Plug into outlet. The white POWER light will turn on
and stay steady until appliance is unplugged.
2. Turn temperature knob to desired temperature. See
Temperature Guide. The white PREHEAT light will turn
off when desired temperature is reached and then will
cycle on and off during cooking. Add food to preheated
griddle.
3. Lid can be placed on griddle over food to aid in
cooking.
4. When finished cooking, turn temperature knob to
OFF and unplug. Allow to cool completely before
attempting to move griddle or remove drip tray to
empty and clean.

Use a cloth with hot, soapy water to wipe down when completely cooled.
Rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal
scouring pads which will scratch the cooking surface.
dislodge any food particles. Insert a soft brush or sponge into the opening of
the grease drain and move around. Pour 1/2 cup (118 ml) warm water through
the grease drain to rinse. Carefully remove the drip tray to clean. Repeat if
necessary.
Wash lid with a cloth using hot, soapy water. Repeat with a clean, soft cloth
using hot water and dry.
Use a nonabrasive stainless steel cleaner like Signature Polish and apply with
a soft lint-free cloth. To bring out the natural luster, lightly wipe surface with
a water-dampened microber cloth followed by a dry polishing cloth. Always
follow the grain of the stainless steel. Signature Polish can be ordered via their
website at www.signaturepolishonline.com.
Wipe outside of griddle with damp cloth. Wipe clean with a lint-free cloth. Do
not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads.
Wipe with a damp, soapy cloth. Repeat with a damp, clean cloth. Dry
thoroughly with a clean cloth.

Troubleshooting
Power light is not on.
• Ensure that the griddle is securely plugged into a working outlet.
• Griddle may have tripped the circuit breaker. Make sure it is the only item plugged into the
circuit.
Griddle is smoking.
• Most heating appliances produce an odor and/or smoke when used for the first time.
Wash griddle surface before using. Plug into outlet. Turn dial to 450°F (232°C). Heat for
5 minutes. The odor should not be present after this initial preheating.
• To reduce the buildup of smoke, use the griddle in a well-ventilated area.
Cooking performance is uneven.
• To ensure that you are getting even cooking performance, allow griddle to heat for
10 to 15 minutes before use.
Grease is collecting on countertop.
• Turn temperature knob to OFF and unplug. Make sure the grease has completely cooled
before attempting to clean up.
• Before next use, ensure drip tray is fully inserted into unit.
• Clean drip tray and grease drain after every use.
• Use non-metal utensils to push grease to grease drain in the cooking surface.
Scratches are visible in griddle surface.
• Use the appropriate non-metal utensils for this appliance. See page 7.
Food is sticking to the griddle.
• Make sure that griddle is cleaned properly after each use. See page 9.
• Season with vegetable or canola oil before cooking.
