3 OPERATION

1. Plug the 12 V power cable 6 into the Milkbox 1 (Fig. 1) and mains adaptor 7. (Fig. 3)
2. Plug the power cable from the mains adaptor 7 into an earthed socket outlet (230 V ~ 50 Hz). (Fig. 3)
3. Switch on Milkbox 1 via switch 2. (Fig. 2)

4. Place container 5 with cold milk (5°C) in the Milkbox 1. (Fig. 4)
Note: Never fill milk directly into the Milkbox 1. Always use the container 5!

5. Lead the milk intake hose from the coffee machine through the opening 3 and immerse it deep into container 5 with the milk. (Fig. 5)
Note: The milk intake hose must be removed before removing container 5 (e.g. for cleaning). Do not buckle the milk intake hose.

The Milkbox 1 can be turned through 180° for self-service use. In this case, the milk intake hose is fed into container 5 through the opening 4. (Fig. 6)
The unused opening 3 or 4 is sealed with the dummy plug supplied 8 (spare part No. 33.0678.7000).

4 CLEANING
Caution! Essential!
Switch off Milkbox 1 via switch 2 and unplug mains adaptor 7! (Fig. 7)

Container 5 must be removed at least every 6 hours and cleaned in the dishwasher.
Container 5 must be removed after use. Any remaining milk should be kept in the refrigerator (note the use-by­date!). (Fig. 8)

For the daily start-up use fresh milk only!

Milkbox 1 and container 5 must be thoroughly cleaned.
Milkbox 1 must not be immersed in water or cleaned in the dishwasher. (Fig. 8)

5 Liability
WMF will be liable as follows for justified defects of quality:
All products or services that exhibit a defect of quality within the statutory period of limitation shall at the option of WMF be repaired or replaced free of charge if the cause of the defect of quality occurred before the passing of risk.
Claims for defects of quality become statute-barred in twelve months. The period commences at passing of risk. The above periods do not apply if longer times are prescribed by law.
The customer must notify WMF promptly in writing of any defects of quality. Replaced parts become the property of WMF.
In all cases, WMF shall first be given an opportunity of subsequent performance within an appropriate time. The customer shall place the subject of the complaint at WMF's disposal.
No liability applies in respect of:
- all parts subject to natural wear and tear. These include seals;
- defects due to the effects of weather, scaling, chemical, physical, electrochemical
or electrical influences not attributable to any fault of WMF;
- defects due to failure to follow the instructions for the use, maintenance and care of
the machine (e.g. WMF operating and maintenance instructions as specified in the instructions for use/operator's manual);
- defects due to improper or incorrect use, failure to use WMF original parts or
defective installation by the customer or third parties or defective or negligent treatment, or the consequences of modifications or repairs carried out improperly and without our consent by the customer or third parties.
Claims for damages on the part of the customer, on any legal ground, in particular based on nonobservance of duties arising from the relationship under the law of obligations and tortious act are excluded.
This does not apply in case of obligatory liability, for example under product liability law, in cases of intent, gross negligence, injury to life or limb or health or breach of essential contractual obligations.
