TheradiatedenergyfromtheantennasconformstotheFCClimitoftheSAR(SpecificAbsorption
Rate)requirementregarding47CFRPart2Section1093,whenthetabletoperatesintheconventional
setting.TheSARisdeterminedtomeasureatthehighestpowerlevelineachfrequencyband.
However,theactualSARlevelofthesystemintheoperationbandsiswellbelowthemaximum

valueinsomemeasurementplots.Becausethesystemadjuststhecellulartransmissionpower
automaticallybasedupontheproximitytothehumanbodyandorientation.Namely,thecloser
distancetoyoufromthesystemwilllowerthecellulartransmissionpowerlevel.Thesystemhas
beentestedandfoundtomeettheFCCRFexposureguidelines.

EmergencyCalls
ThewirelessWANmoduledoesnotsupportvoicecalls,hencetheiruseforessentialcommunicationisnot
possible,includingemergencycallsregardingtheE911rule.
SimultaneoususeofRFtransmitters
YourtabletisapprovedforsimultaneoususeofoneoftheapprovedwirelessLAN/Bluetoothmodules,the
approvedWiGigmodule,andtheapprovedwirelessWANmodule.
MakesureofthefollowingconditionswhenyouuseanyotherexternalRFoptiondevice:
1.WhenyouuseanyotherRFoptiondevice,youarerequestedtoconfirmthatthedeviceconformsto
theRFSafetyrequirementandisapprovedtouseforyourtablet.
2.Y oumustfollowtheRFSafetyinstructionsoftheRFoptiondevicethatareincludedintheusermanual
oftheRFoptiondevice.
3.IftheRFoptiondeviceisprohibitedtouseinconjunctionwithanothertransmitters,youmustturnoffall
otherwirelessfeaturesinyourtablet.

ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuant
toPart15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmful
interferenceinaresidentialinstallation.Thisequipmentgenerates,uses,andcanradiateradiofrequency
energyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterference
toradiocommunications.However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticular

Wirelessfeature(suchaswirelessWAN,wirelessLAN,andBluetoothandsoon)emitsradiofrequency
electromagneticenergylikeotherradiodevices.However,thelevelofenergyemittedisfarmuchlessthan
theelectromagneticenergyemittedbywirelessdeviceslikeforexamplemobilephones.
Duetothefactthatwirelessfeatureoperateswithintheguidelinesfoundinradiofrequencysafetystandards
andrecommendations,Lenovobelievesthewirelessfeatureissafeforusebyconsumers.Thesestandards
andrecommendationsreflecttheconsensusofthescientificcommunityandresultfromdeliberationsof
panelsandcommitteesofscientistswhocontinuallyreviewandinterprettheextensiveresearchliterature.
Insomesituationorenvironment,theuseofwirelessfeaturemightberestrictedbytheproprietorofthe
buildingorresponsiblerepresentativesoftheorganization.Thesesituationsandareasmayforexample
include:
•Usingthewirelessfeatureonboardofairplanes,inhospitalsornearpetrolstations,blastingareas
(withelectro-explosivedevices),medicalimplantsorbody-wornelectronicmedicaldevices,such
aspacemakers.
•Inanyotherenvironmentwheretheriskofinterferencetootherdevicesorservicesisperceivedor
identifiedasharmful.
Ifyouareuncertainofthepolicythatappliesontheuseofwirelessdevicesinaspecificorganization
(suchasairportorhospital),youareencouragedtoaskforauthorizationtousewirelessfeaturepriorto
turningonthetablet.
Precautionsagainstelectrostaticdischarges(ESD)ininsertingor removingthemicroSIMcard
DonottouchthemicroSIMcardconnectors.Asaprecaution,alwaysmakesurethatyourtabletisinyour
handbeforeyouinsertorremovethemicroSIMcard.
