Thisunitisintendedforspotcoolingofsmellareas.
Locatethe unitnextto a partiallyopenedwindow.The
unit mustdrawinwarm outdoorairto coolefficiently.
Itwiflnotefficientlycool"used"reciroulstedindoor
air.Positionthe unittodirectcootedairtothe portion
ofthe roomthat requirescooling,0onotplacethe
unitontopof electricalappliances,woodfurniture,or
anyotheritemthat maybe damageddueto acciden-
taloverfilling.Resurethe unit isplacedona leveland
sturdysurface.
Sincerecirculationof indoorairis notdesirable,par-
tiallyopene windowordooronthe oppositesideof
the roomfromtheunitto exhaustanamountofroom
airequaltothatwhichisproducedbythe unit.Forbest
coolingresults,allowan adequateexhaustopening.
Turntheunitoffandunplugitbeforefillingorrefilling.
Tofill,openthewater-filldooronthesideofthe unit
andpourcool,cleanwaterintothe water reservoir.
Fillthe tankwitha maximum2.6US gallonsofwater,
oruntilthe water levelindicatorregisters"Full."To
preventleaking,donotoverfill.
Donotattemptto carryor movetheunitafterfillingor
somewaterspillagemayoccur.Donotfill water
reservoirwhilethe unitisrunning.
Aswater evaporationvariesindifferentlocalities,
determineyourunit'srefilltimebywatchingwater
levelindicatorcloselyfor thefirst few refillsuntil
approximatetime betweenrefillsi_sdetermined.
Forbestcoolingresults,setthe controlswitchto "HI"
position.
WHENUSINGTHISUNIT TOHUMIDIFYAND FILTER

Thisproductcan be usedtoreplacedryair causedby
centralheatingwithmoist,clean air.Specialexhaust
considerationsare notnecessarywhen usedto
humidifyendfilterdry,staleair.Theunitwashesthe
air naturallybyfilteringitthroughe water-
saturatedfiberpad.
Fillthe unitwithfreshwater,followingthe instructions
inthisinstructionsheetinthesectiontitled
"WHENUSINGTHISPRODUCTTOCOOLTHEAIR ... ".
Forbesthumidifying/filteringresults,setthe control
switchto "LO"positionanddirectairflow awayfrom
theoccupant(s)oftheroom.
TOUSETHISPRODUCTTOCIRCULATEAIRWITHOUT
ADDEDCOOLING...
Thisproductcan be safelyusedtocirculateroomair
withoutaddingmoisture,byoperatingit without
addinganywaterto it.Theswitchpositioncan be in
the "HI"or "LO"position.

hasbeenpro-wiredatthe factory. Besureto connect
theunitto agrounded110-120voltA.C.,60Hz(cycle)

MAINTENANCE

Thecabinetsurfaceofthisunitishighlyresistantto
scaleandcorrosion.Asoftcloth,warmwaterand a
mildcleanserwillbringallsurfacesbackto like-new
appearance.Donotuseharshcleansers,steelwool
orsandpaperinnormalcleaningof cabinet,

Thefan motorwas permanentlylubricated atthe fac-
toryendrequiresnooiling.
FILTER/PADREPLACEMENT...
Formaximumcooling/humidifyingefficiency,thefilter
shouldbechangedtwice a year,ormorefrequently
dependingonlocalair andwater conditions.For
instance,inareaswherethe mineralcontentofthe
waterishigh,depositsmaybuildupinthefilter
restrictingthe airflow. Replacementfilters areavail-
ablethroughyourlocaldealer orAdoheAir,Inc.
TOREPLACEFILTER/PAD.,.
Removethescrewfromeachsideofbackpaneland
removethepanel.Removethecrossbar(padretainer).
Removethe filter/pad bybendingtabsholdingittothe
frame endremoveanddiscardthe pad.Reversethe
processtoinstallnew filter/pad media.Make surethe
filter padis wrappedaroundthedistributortubethe
samedirectionasyouroldfilter pad.

consumerpurchasersofthisportablecoolerthatthe
coolerandthepartsthereof,excepttheevaporative
coolerfilter/padmedia,willhe free fromdefectsin

A.Thiswarrantydoesnotcoveranyfailure, damage
ordefectthatresultsfromunauthorizedmodification
orservice;orfrom the useof productorreplacement
