GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This
appliance must be grounded.
If
it
should mal

function or break down, grounding provides a path
of
least
resistance for electric current to reduce the risk
of
electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a

grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an ap

OPERATION
CAUTION:

pad,

that the pad driver is installed
correctly
and in
good shape.

change
pad
if
necessary

outlet
as
described in the
grounding instructions.
3.
Lower
the
handle by unlocking the adjustment handle
and moving the handle into position.
Relock
the handle
when it is in a comfortable position.

be sure the pad driver is installed before
starting.

With the switch lock(s) rotated
forward,
squeeze one
of
the switch levers, turning
the
machine on.

MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR
THE
MD1500
SERIES
OF
FLOOR
SCRUBBERS
WARN/NG:
Remove machine power cord from
dectrical
source before making any adjustments
or
repairs
to
the machine. Only
quaiffled
mainterurnce
personnel
are
to
perform
repairs.
NOTE:
In the following instructions
all
letter
designations,

upcoming graphical examples in this guide.
MOTOR
The
polisher
is
equipped with a rectified DC permanent
magnet motor. An external mounted warning light will
"Light
Up" when the carbon motor brushes become
worn
and replacement is required.

screws holding motor cover.

Remove rear transport wheels and axle. Remove

screws holding motor shroud. (Located
front and rear)

Remove inspection band from motor. Use a hook to pull brush springs out of the way.
Pull
old brushes out of the holder. Install the new brushes making sure the brush lead does not prevent free movement of the brushes in the holder.
CAWION:
Make sure the brush with the
YELLOW
sensor
lead
is
installed in
the
Same holder
as
the old brush.
WHEELS - HANDLE
PIVOT
BRACKETS

Wheels - Remove the center screw holding wheel
axle When reinstalling wheels add a small amount of silicone lubricant to axle.
Pivot Brackets - Remove wheel

Remove wheels every 2 to 3 months. Clean axle an apply a small amount of silicone lubricant. Reinstall wheels.

Use
arbor press or
hammer with rod and tube
to
remove bearings.
Replace bearings as needed.

PAD DRIVER
INSTALIATION:

Lay machine back on the ground, exposing the underside.
Place pad driver on the motor lug and rotate clockwise until
engaged.
To
remove, turn Counter-clockwise.

INSTAU

Ensure Pad
is
Centered on Pad Driver. Pull
Padtoedgeof Pad Driver
in
several
directions
to
check for proper engagement.
