2. GETTING STARTED
FLANGE SIZING GUIDE
1. Stimulate your nipple so it’s erect.
2. Hold a dime, nickel and quarter in front of your nipples to compare the diameter of the base of your nipples (not the areola) to each coin.
3. Determine your flange size using the chart below.
TIPS: It can be helpful to use a mirror, sele and a
side view to get the best estimate of your size.
Do not squish the coin against your nipple
as this can distort your size.
Sizing Chart
If your nipple is:
Smaller than a dime
21mm
not oered
Larger than a dime but smaller than a nickel
24mm
included with Willow Pump Kit
Larger than a nickel but smaller than a quarter

available for purchase on willowpump.com

CHECK YOUR FLANGE FIT
Choosing the right flange size is critical to successful pumping. Make sure your Flange fits properly.
Your flange size may fluctuate with birth, breastfeeding, and pumping. We recommend you revisit your flange fit from time to time.
Too Small: During pumping, some or your entire nipple rubs against the side of the flange tunnel.
Too Large: During pumping, more areola is drawn into the flange with your nipple. Your areola may rub against the side of the breast flange tunnel.
Good Fit: During pumping, your nipple moves freely in the flange tunnel. You see space around the nipple, and little to no areola is pulled into the tunnel with the nipple.

ALIGNMENT
a. Open bra ap, ensuring fabric is out of the way. Stimulate your nipple.
b. Determine the direction your nipple points.
Nipples point in different directions (straight, up, down, to the side).
TIP: No two nipples are the same. The direction varies from
one side to the other and from woman to woman.
IMPORTANT: Correct nipple alignment is key to comfort, expression and performance. Nipple must be positioned correctly in Flange Tunnel before pumping to avoid discomfort. If you still experience discomfort even with proper alignment, you may need a dierent Flange size. See Section 2. GETTING STARTED - Flange Sizing Guide or contact Willow Customer Care.
