Introducing the next generation of screwdrivers from Wiha: the SoftFinish®and the MicroFinish, because functionality and ergonomic

styling together make up the most important aspect of a screwdriver.

The generation of Wiha Finish handles

with its total of four handle sizes was extensive gonomics with high-profile research institutes. The result is a completely ergonomic design and optimal handle lengths and diameters. The user is guaranteed a perfect hold with every handle size.

The feel good factor

Due to the combination of material and handle size, each Finish screwdriver fits perfectly into the palm of the hand. There is no strain on muscles, ligaments and joints, with the result that minimum force is required for maximum torque.

Screwdrivers used in dry working environments have to have a different handle surface to those used in oily working environments. Wiha has taken this on board and has developed a Finish screwdriver for dry and general applications and one for oily applications.

The handle core of both models consists of impact-resistant, recyclable special plastic material. The torque strengthening Finish zone of the SoftFinish®version is made of a soft, thermoplastic elastomer and is ideal for dry and general applications.

Wiha SoftFinish®.

The specialist for dry and general applications.

The Wiha SoftFinish

zone features a solid moulded core with soft outer grip. This requires less force, yet achieves 40% more torque than conventional handles. The handle is shaped to fit comfortably in the hand, providing maximum torque forces in dry and general working conditions.

If a stuck screw has to be loosened, a precise hammer blow can be applied to the solid steel cap. Due to the hex blade extending trough the handle to the steel cap, there is no loss of impact energy.

ESD, with integrated soft zone in the multi-component- handle. The dissipative handle with a surface resistance of 10

- 109ohms discharges the electrostatic energy in a controlled manner to protect devices at risk from electrostatic discharge.

The ergonomic handle form was developed from the basis of extensive scientiﬁc investigations in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute. The result is a multicomponent handle with a seamless outer form. Each hand size adapts perfectly to screwdriver, there are no pressure points while working and loading of the ﬁnger joints is minimised.

The hard handle core consists of impact resistant polypropylene. The thermoplastic elastomer handle provides for a pleasant, safe and slip-proof grip. The inseparable handle is connected to the core by a moulding process. The high-quality blade of chromevanadium- molybdenum steel is through hardened and mattechrome plated. The Wiha ChromTop

blade tip ensures a perfect ﬁt in every screw head.

Electrostatic discharges are a major problem, since even low voltages can damage sensitive components.

Various factors have to be considered in order to understand the problem. In ESD protection areas, the electrostatic charge is safely conducted to earth. Users have to wear the appropriate ESD footwear or grounded wrist strap. The tools used also have to be electrostatically protected.
