Thank you for purchasing WiebeTech’s TC-E34-2FW TeraCard™ FireWire 800 host. This card allows you to add two fast IEEE 1394b (FireWire 800) ports to your laptop computer with an ExpressCard/34 slot. FireWire 800 technology allows you to achieve data transfer speeds up to twice as fast as FireWire 400 or USB 2.0!

• Two 800Mbps 9-pin 1394b (FireWire 800) ports

Software Installation

• Mac users: you do not need to install any software to use the TC-E34-2FW with MacBook Pros running Mac OS 10.4.x or higher. Skip ahead to the hardware installation section.

• Windows users: follow the instructions below to install the necessary software drivers. Do not insert the card into your computer’s ExpressCard slot until driver installation is complete.

1. The installation program is found on the WiebeTech CD in this location: WiebeTech Products -

Manuals & Drivers\TeraCards - ExpressCard34\TC-E34-2FW FireWire 800 host\Windows drivers\SETUP.EXE. Double-click the icon to open it. Click the Next button to continue.

2. Click the Next button to continue.

5. Select Complete and then click the Next button to continue.

10. Select “Install from a…” and then click the Next button to continue.

11. Select “Don’t search” and then click the Next button to continue.

12. Browse files location to C:\Program Files\Unibrain\ubCore\Drivers\Adapte and click the OK button to

continue.

13. Select “Unibrain driver / S800…” and then click the Next button to continue.

14. Click the Finish button to continue.

15. Select “Yes, this time only” and then click the Next button to continue.

18. Click Start Æ Control Panel, then select System Æ Hardware. Check devi ce information on Device

Manager.

Software Un-installation

1. Select Add/Remove Programs Æ UbCorePro from the Control Panel and then click the

Change/Remove button, select “Remove” and click the Next button to continue un-installation.

2. Click the Yes button to continue.

3. Click the Finish button to continue.

4. Select “Yes, I want to…” and then click the Finish button to reboot.

Plug the card into the ExpressCard slot on the laptop computer. The diagram below will help you to find the key components shown on the board. A controller is briefly

described below.
