For machines fitted with older DBK heaters*
*DBK heaters (item 226a) have now been replaced by new sheathed heaters (see exploded view 2/2).
Please refer to the parts list for details of when the new heaters were introduced.
If in doubt, please use these exploded views to visually identify which heater has been fitted as the two
are easily distinguished.

For machines fitted with new Sheathed Heaters*
IMPORTANT: the following parts have been modified to accommodate the new Sheathed Heaters:
142 Terminal Block
389 Back Panel
226 Mounting Plate Assembly
226a Sheathed Heater
227 Heater & Mounting Plate Assembly
228 Thermal Overload Switch
Wiring Loom (not shown)
Parts from sheathed heater models cannot be fitted to DBK heater models and vice versa so please ensure that
you order using the correct part numbers. To reduce the possibility of confusion, parts 226, 227 and the Wiring
Loom are now no longer offered as general spares.
*The new Sheathed Heater (item 226a) is now being fitted to all compact models. Please refer to the par ts list
for details of when the new heaters were introduced

*When ordering a replacement drum (item 266) please check the serial number of the machine and ensure
that the correct version is fitted. This is due to a modification to the earthing arrangement at the rear of the
drum which affected models with serial number prefixes of 0114 and upwards. Failure to fit the correct drum
may create a risk of electric shock. If in doubt, the drum can be visually identified by the Drum Earthing
Rivet as shown above. Drums for older earthing assemblies have a shiny steel earthing rivet whereas
drums for current earthing assemblies have a copper coloured earthing rivet.

Please note; dryer serial numbers can be found on a sticker on the inside of the door. All serial numbers
have a 4 digit prefix with the first two indicating the year of manufacture and the last two indicating the
week. For example, an appliance serial number prefixed with 0124 was made in year 01 (2001) week 24.

Items 226, 227 and the Wiring Loom are now no longer available as spares. If these
parts are genuinely required for a repair, we will only supply them on receipt of the
exact serial number of the dryer concerned.
When ordering items 142, 226a, 228 or 389, please check the serial number prefix to
establish the week of manufacture and therefore the correct part number or,
alternatively, use exploded views 2/1 & 2/2 to visually identify which heater the dryer
has been fitted with.
When ordering drum assembly 266, please check the serial number prefix before
selecting the correct part number. The drum design was not altered with respect to
the new heater, but as part of a previous modification to the earthing assembly.
Mismatching the wrong drum with the wrong earthing arrangement may create a risk
of electric shock. If in doubt, please refer to exploded view 3 which explains how to
visually identify one drum from the other.
From week 44, 2001, a new timer has been introduced (item 211). Because the loom
has been altered to accommodate this new timer, it will not fit onto older dryers.
** Please see attached Technical Bulletin 26 which refers to a change to the heater wire routing/heater wire
lengths on the Back Panel (item 389) and the reshaping of the Rear Banjo Cover Assembly (item 391). For
machines built prior to June 24th 2003 (serial numbers listed on Bulletin), if either item 389 or 391 needs to be
replaced, then the other should also be replaced at the same time. The part number listed (4213 092 40451) is
for a kit containing both parts.
To identify if your dryer has been built with a 4 rib belt and 4 groove pulley a prefix
of /20 and above can be found after the 12 digit code on the rating plate.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: The 3 rib belt is NOT interchangeable with the 4
groove belt and vise versa.
From Mon 06th August 2007, All machines will be built using Mid White Plastic
and Painted parts, Also these machines are fiited with a clockwork timer (item 211)
This change also affects the timer knob (item 352)
To identify these machines /21 is added to the rating and serial plate
- All parts are in bold text.
Please Note: If you have a machine with serial No's 0743 849891
to 0743849960, these are the exception and have been built using
Euro White parts, check the serial No before ordering parts.
To identify If your dryer requires the three bearing set (Item
387a), /23 has been added to the rating plate.
Older dryers fitted with one rear bearing should NOT have
the three bearing set installed as the upper two recesses
on the back panel do not the have securing tabs.
PLEASE NOTE: Bold text indicates choice of different parts depending on the model.WK372
