Check Your Vent System For Good Air Flow

Good Air Flow

Along with heat, dryers require good air flow to efficiently dry laundry. Proper venting will reduce your drying times and improve your energy savings. See Installation Instructions.

The venting system attached to the dryer plays a big role in good air flow.

Service calls caused by improper venting are not covered by the warranty and will be paid by the customer, regardless of who installed the dryer.

Maintain good air flow by:

nCleaning your lint screen before each load.

nReplace plastic or foil vent material with 4" (102 mm) diameter heavy, rigid vent material.

nUse the shortest length of vent possible.

nUse no more than four 90° elbows in a vent system; each bend and curve reduces air flow.

Good

Better

nRemove lint and debris from the exhaust hood.

nRemove lint from the entire length of the vent system at least every 2 years. When cleaning is complete, be sure to follow the Installation Instructions supplied with your dryer for final product check.

nClear away items from the front the dryer.

CYCLE OVERVIEW

The main screen has 5 tabs, each with several automatic cycles. Each tab allows you to select automatic cycles based on what you want to dry, for example, by clothing type, color, or common household items. The RECENT tab lists the last 7 cycles used and saves any customized settings applied to these cycles.

To select a cycle, touch the tab the cycle is in (see Cycle Chart on next page), then touch the and arrows until the desired cycle is shown. Then simply touch the cycle icon to select. For additional information on each cycle and recommended loads, touch LEARN MORE.

Automatic Cycles

Timed Dry

If you select Adjust Settings, manually choose and adjust each setting individually using the buttons across the bottom of the screen. If an option is not available, it will be grayed out and cannot be selected. To change settings from the cycle defaults, touch Adjust Settings.

If you select Timed Dry, you can set a specific amount of drying time and drying temperature. When a Timed Cycle is selected, the Estimated Time Remaining display shows the actual time remaining in your cycle.

Use Automatic cycles for Better Fabric Care and Energy Savings

Use the Automatic Cycles to provide the most energy savings and enhanced fabric care from the dryer. During Automatic Cycles, drying air temperature and moisture level are sensed in the load. This sensing occurs throughout the drying cycle and the dryer shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness. With Timed Dry, the dryer runs the amount of time set and could result in shrinkage, wrinkling, and static due to over-drying with certain fabrics. Use Timed Dry for the occasional damp load that needs a little more drying time, when using the drying rack, or for items that require drying without heat such as rubber, plastic, and heat-sensitive fabrics.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Learn More

Quick Refresh

Touch the Learn More button to display additional information about using a cycle or feature, if desired. When you are finished, touch DONE to return to the previous screen.

Steam

Some cycles, such as Quick Refresh and Enhanced Touch Up, add a small amount of water to the dryer drum after several minutes of tumbling with heat. This will help loosen wrinkles and reduce odors. Steam may also be added as an option with the Wrinkle Shield feature to help minimize wrinkling.

NOTE: Results may vary depending on fabric. 100% cotton garments with wrinkle-free finish may yield better results than those without. Use of a fabric softener sheet is not recommended with steam cycles as it may cause temporary staining on the clothes.

Use this cycle to smooth out wrinkles and reduce odor from loads consisting of one to twelve dry items of wrinkle-free cotton, cotton-polyester blend, common knits and synthetic garments to be refreshed by touching the arrow keys up or down to increase or decrease the number of garments.

Enhanced Touch Up

This cycle is best for touching up clothes that have been left in the dryer too long. In this cycle, a small amount of water is sprayed into the dryer drum after several minutes of tumbling with heat. The dryer will continue to tumble with heat followed by a brief cool down. The dry time and temperature can be adjusted for this cycle.

NOTE: Tightly packed loads can lead to poor drying performance, and may increase wrinkling and tangling.

Wrinkle Shield

Static Reduce

Touch to activate the WRINKLE SHIELD feature. This option helps keep wrinkles from forming when you cannot unload the dryer promptly at the end of a cycle.

By adding the Static Reduce option to a cycle, a small amount of water is sprayed into the dryer drum after several minutes of tumbling with heat. This helps reduce static build-up in the load.

12

Using the EcoMonitor

Your dryer features an EcoMonitor, which allows you to

keep track of energy savings over time. Using cycles with the Eco option and drying on low heat will raise your Eco rating.

LED drum light

The dryer light automatically turns on inside the dryer drum when you open the door.

An LED drum light is used. The LED lights should not require changing; however, if replacement is needed, please contact a qualified service technician.

USING THE DRYING RACK

To obtain a drying rack for your dryer, follow the instructions included in your dryer drum. Remove and discard any packing material before use.

Use the Drying Rack for items that you do not want to tumble dry, such as sweaters and tennis shoes. When you use the drying rack, the drum continues to turn, but the rack remains stationary.

The drying rack is intended for use with the Timed Dry cycles only. The drying rack cannot be used with Automatic cycles.

To use the drying rack:

IMPORTANT: Do not remove the lint screen. 1. Open the dryer door.

2.Align the two hooks on the front of the drying rack with the holes in the dryer door opening and press down fully into holes. Rest the rear support on the dryer back ledge.

3.Place wet items on top of the drying rack. Allow space around items for air to circulate. The drying rack does not move, but the drum will rotate. Make sure items do not hang over the edges or between drying rack grille.

4.Close the door.

5.Select a Timed Dry/Air Only, or Low Temperature cycle. Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic must be dried on a clothesline or by using the Air Only setting.

6.When the cycle is selected, the Estimated Time Remaining display shows the default time. You can change the actual time in the cycle by increasing or decreasing the cycle time.

7.Start the dryer.

NOTE: Check the lint screen and remove any lint accumulated from items dried on the drying rack after the cycle is finished.
