Precautions to avoid possible exposure to excessive microwave energy.

Do not attempt to operate the microwave oven with the door open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to micro­wave energy It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks
l
Do not place any object between the microwave oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
l
Do not operate the microwave oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the microwave oven door close properly and that there is no damage to the: (a) Door (bent). (b) hinges and latches (broken or loosened). (c) door seals and sealing surfaces.
l
The microwave oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
l
The microwave oven should be checked for microwave leakage by
qualified personnel after a repair is made.
l
Do not operate the microwave oven if the door glass is broken.
l
Do not operate the microwave oven with the outer cabinet removed.
l
Do not attempt to cook eggs in the shell In the microwave oven. Steam build-up within the egg will cause it to burst. Damage to the oven or injury to the user may result.

Before you use your eye-level microwave range

It is your personal responsibility and obligation to contact a qualified installer for your range. It is also your responsibility to be sure that it:
Has been properly installed. electrically grounded. and connected to the supply of electricity by a qualified person.
Has been installed where it is protected from the elements in a well ventilated room.
Has been installed and leveled properly on a floor strong enough to support its weight.
Is properly used only for the lob it is intended to do. Is not used by small children or anyone not able to operate it properly. Is properly maintained. Has had all materials removed from inside the oven.

Before vou use vour microwave oven
1. There are four separate sections on your control panel:
l
At the top center is the display. It will display time of day. cooking
time. power level, and temperature information. The display will
show all 8‘s when the microwave oven is first plugged in.

Above the display are the indicator lights. The appropriate ones come on as you are programming the microwave oven and as it IS operating.

Command Pads
l
The command pads tell the microwave oven what you want it to do.
l
The number pads are the pads marked O-9. They are used to set the clock, cooking time, Minute Timer. Serve Time. power level and temperature setting.

When setting the microwave oven, you must always touch a com-
mand pad first and the number pads second.

Touch the pads to register your instructions with the microwave
oven.

Four buzzes will sound to signal the end of the cooking time. The buzzes stop when the door is opened or the Cancel pad is touched.
A buzzer will sound after Defrost, Hold and Cycle 1 to signal the
change In cycles.

A buzzer will sound to signal the end of time set on the Minute Timer.
It will sound only once for about 3 seconds.
7.
If all 8‘s show on the display. it means there was a power interrup­tion. Either a fuse was blown. a circuit breaker was tripped or power was interrupted to your home. Reset the clock following the direc-
tions below

First set the clock

Before you cook in the microwave oven for the first time, set the Clock. If the Clock is not set. you can cook in the oven but the display of the Clock will be blank after cooking. You must set the Clock to use Serve Time.
Close and latch the oven door before setting the Clock or Minute Timer.
To set the time of day on the clock:
1. Touch the Clock pad
l
A small light ~111 come on at the right end of the display near the center. The light will stay on for approximately 5 seconds. You must touch the first number of the time of day within that 5 seconds before the light turns off.

2. Touch the numbers corresponding to the time of day

For example. for 1:30. touch 1-3-O in that order: for 12:45. touch
l-2-4-5 in that order. Touch the first number within 5 seconds of
touching the Clock pad. The light at the center rrght of the display will remain on after touching the first number. The remaining numbers can then be entered.

3. Touch the Start pad

The small light will go off and the Start indicator light will turn on for
approximately 5 seconds. When the Start indicator light turns off. the
clock will be set.

HINT: If the small light at the center right of the display goes off before you set the first number of the time of day. retouch the Clock pad.

To cook in the microwave oven

The Number pads in the center of the control panel, the Command pads and the Start pad are used to operate the microwave oven when cooking by time.
You can select any cooking time up to 99 minutes. 99 seconds.
You can select from 10 different cooking powers. When used to program cooking power. the numbers correspond to the following power levels-

Your microwave oven will automatically cook on HIGH unless you set It to cook on a lower Cook Power setting or in the Defrost cycle.
Your microwave oven can be set for one cooking time and power level. or it can be programmed to go through a defrost and up to two cooking cycles automatically.

How to cook with time in your microwave oven

To set one cycle to cook on HIGH
1. Put the food into the microwave oven and shut the door.
2. Touch Cycle 1 pad.

The Cook Power indicator light will turn on. Two zeros will show on the left side of the display. (It is not necessary to touch the Cook Power pad if you want to cook on HIGH.)

7. For 2 seconds of every 10 seconds of the cooking time countdown, the number indicating the power at which the oven is operating will show on the far left of the display.

11. The microwave oven will operate for the selected time and power level for Cycle 1 first. The Cook Power and Cycle 1 indicator lights will be on. The countdown of the Cycle 1 cooking time will show on the display. The power number will show on the far left of the display for 2 seconds of every 10 seconds of cooking time countdown.

12. At the end of the Cycle 1 cook time a buzzer will sound. the micro­wave oven WIII automatically change to Cycle 2 power level. and the display will show and countdown Cycle 2 cook time
The power number for Cycle 2 will show on the far left of the display for 2 seconds of every 10 seconds of the cookrng time countdown.

13. At the end of the cooking cycles a buzzer will sound four times or until you open the door or touch the Cancel pad. The ttme of day will be displayed again at the end of the four buzzer signal.

HINT: You can program the cooking cycles in any order. However. when the microwave oven is started. it will automatically 30 through the cycles in order-l-2 (or Defrost-Hold-l-2).
As a reminder to check the food between Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. a
buzzer will sound between cycles.

How to defrost in your microwave oven

Put the food into the microwave oven and shut the door.

The Defrost indicator light will come on. (When using the Defrost pad, it is not necessary to first touch a Cycle 1 or 2 pad.

MENUS Cookbook for defrosting times.)

oven turns on. It will 30 off after about 5 seconds, but the Defrost indicator light will stay on during the entire defrosting time. The

HINT: The Defrost setting is for 30 % of power. If you want to defrost foods faster (may cause cooking on outside of food before the inside IS defrosted) or slower. you may want to defrost at a lower or higher power setting. (See page 15 for instructions.)
