SPECIAL CAUTION
Flammable gases may build up in
hot water pipes and heater. This
can happen when hot water
hasn’t been used for a while (usu
ally two weeks or more).
To prevent Injury or damage,
allow any gases to escape by
running hot water from the faucet
nearest the washer for several
minutes. Don't smoke near the
faucet while it is open, and turn
off any open flame.

Washer
For best washing results and
energy savings, sort the laundry
oarefully.
1. Sort the Laundry into Loads.
• Group the laundry into loads that
can be washed and dried together.
See the Laundry Guide tor Informa
tion and samples of fypical loads.
• Try to mix large and small items for
best movement in the washer.
2. Measure Detergent; Add to
Washer Basket.
• See detergent information on
page 6 and in Section IV ot the Laun
dry Guide.
• Add dry bleach or water condi
tioner (not fabric softener) if used.
Follow the packoge directions
carefully.
3. Pour Liquid Bieach into the Dis
penser Before Loading Washer.
• See Page 14 and the "Laundry Aids"
section of the Laundry Guide for more
information.
4. Load the Washer.
• Spread the lead evenly (Don't put
all the towels on one side and a few
wash cloths on the other.) An unbal
anced load can cause the washerto
shake during spinning.
• Laad without packing so items can
mave freely far best cleaning and
least wrinkling.
5. Add Diiuted Fabric Softener to
the Dispenser.
• DO NOT ADD FABRIC SOFTENER TO
THE WASH. Fabric softeners can com
bine with soap or detergent to form
greasy stains on fabrics

Using your Washer

1. Set the LOAD SIZE SELECTOR.

Move switch to POWER ON.
• The REG HEAVY Indicator Light w'lli
come on It shows that power is on, and
reminds you tisat your washer w'lll start in
REG HEAVY unless you touch o differ
ent FABRIC Selector
• You have eight seconds to touch a
selector (or to touch the HOLD Selector
for more time] If you do not:
— The washer will fill witn warm water
to tne level showm or', the LOAD SIZE
SELECTOR.
— The washer 'will select REG HEAVY
(see page 8 for details)
3. Touch a FABRIC Selector.
• Touch selectors on the lower holt.
REMINDER: You have eight sec
onds to touch a FABRIC Selector
or HOLD. If you don’t, the Solid
State Electronic Controls will
select REG/HEAVY.
• An indicator light w'lll giow on the
FABRIC Selector you touched.
• If you want more than eight sec
onds to make a selection:
- Touch HOLD. Then take as much
time as you want.
- Touch a Selector or Selectors.
- Touch RUN to oancel HOLD
4. Touch OPTION SELECTORS.
• If you did not touch a FABRIC
Selector, you have eight seconds after
the power is turned on to touch option
selectors. The washer will select REG
HEAVY and add the options you
selected.
The Electronic Controls are pre-set for
a w'orm wash and cold rinse in every
FABRIC Selection, Change water
temperatures by touching Option
Selectors
• If you did touch a FABRIC Selector,
you have eight seconds to touch the
option selectors you w'ont. Even/ time
you touch one, you have eight seconds
to touch another UNLESS YOU TOUCH
RUN OR SPIN ONLY. RUN immediately
starts the cycle, SPIN ONLY cancels
all selections and starts draining and
spinning right awoy, (See page 13,]
• SOAK CYCLE will cancel any FAB
RIC Selection touched before it.
• SUPER WASH can be added to any
FABRIC Selection. Touch it before the
FABRIC Selection.
• Touching RINSE SPIN before the
washer starts will cancel all selections

5. Indicator Lights.
• The light on each selector you touch
will glow to show that your selection is
recorded. They wd glow until the load Is
tinished

every selector.
If an indicator does not glow after
selector is depressed:
- The eight-second selection
time ran out.
- The selector was not touched
on the lower half.
- The option selected can't be
combined with the FABRIC
Selection. See pages 8-13 for
details on each selection.

off to let you know what the washer is
doing
• T,he light on the HOLD Selector glows
when you have stopped the washer
by touching HOLD
• The light on the RUN Selector goes off
only when the w-asher Is OFF, on HOLD,
or during the eight second selection
period.

6. Changing a selection.
• Before the washer starts, touch an
other selector. That cancels the one you
don't want. See page 7 for details
• .After the washer starts, move the
switch to POWER OFF,
- Start back at Step 1
— Or, if you w'ant to dram any water
before making new selections
1, Move switch to POWER ON
2 Touch SPIN ONLY,
3 Start at Step 1 when spinning
stops,
7. HOLD and RUN Selectors.
• Touch HOLD if you want to stop the
washer for any reason, but want to start
it again where it left off.
• Touch HOLD if you want more than
eight seconds to make selections
• Touch RUN to cancel HOLD
• Touch RUN to immediately start the
cycle
POWER FAILURE. If the electricity
goes off or a fuse blows while the
washer is running, all selections
are canceled. See instructions on
page 7.
To Stop the Washer:
- During spin...touch HOLD or lift
the lid.
-Any tinne...touch HOLD or
switch to POWER OFF,
SPIN ONLY cancels all selections
including HOLD.
