BEFORE USING THE HOOD
• Please read these instructions carefully in order to get the best out of your new hood.
• This appliance is designed to be used only by adults.
• The appliance is not intended for use by children or infirm persons without supervision. Make sure that children do not play with the appliance.
• Packaging materials can be dangerous for children. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) well out of their reach.
• Make sure the hood has not been damaged during transport.
• Installation and connection to the mains and exhaust ducts must be carried out by a qualified technician, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and local safety regulations.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
1. Packaging
Packaging materials are 100% recyclable and are marked with the recycling symbol . Dispose of packaging materials in compliance with local waste disposal regulations. Packaging materials can be dangerous for children. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) well out of their reach.
2. Appliance
This appliance is marked in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product.
The symbol on the appliance or accompanying documentation indicates that this product should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste but must be taken to a collection point for the treatment of WEEE.
Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations for waste disposal.
For more detailed information about treatment, recovery and recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Always disconnect the hood before cleaning or carrying out maintenance by unplugging it or switching off the power supply.
2. Exhaust air must not be conveyed through the same
flue used by the heating system or other non­electrical appliances.
3. Do not “flambé” food under the hood. Naked flames could cause fire.
4. Never leave the pan unattended when frying since the cooking oil could ignite.
5. Regular maintenance guarantees smooth hood
operation and high performance.
6. If the hood is used in extractor mode together with cookers, ambient negative pressure must not exceed 4 Pa (4 x 10

8. The room must be adequately ventilated when the hood is used together with appliances powered by gas or other fuels.
9. Regularly remove dirt deposits. Regularly clean or replace filters. Never use flammable materials as hoses for extracted air.
10. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the After-Sales Service or a qualified electrician in order to avoid hazards.

maintenance operations.
