CONNECTIONS
ATTENTION
If your vehicle is not fitted with this type of connector you must purchase the accessory pack available from your car radio dealer.
WARNING
• Make correct connections as illustrated in the connection diagram.
• Before connecting, make sure that the ignition s witch is set to OFF, and remove the terminal of the battery to avoid short circuits.
• If you connect the ignition wire (red) and the battery wire (orange) to the car chassis (ground), you may cause a short circuit, that in turn may start a fire. Alwa ys connect those wires to the power source running through the fuse box.
• Do not cut out the fuse from the ignition wire (red) and the battery wire (orange). The power supply must be connected to the wires via the fuse.
• When replacing the fuse, be sure to use one whose amperage rating is identical. Use of a fuse of higher amperage may cause serious damage to the unit.
• Do not watch the monitor while driving. You may cause a traffic accident if your attention is distracted by the monitor. For the sake of safety, be sure to connect the parking brake (green) wire to your car.
WARNING ON SPEAKER CONNECTION
• Before connecting speakers, turn off the unit.
• Use speakers with an impedance of 4 to 8 ohms, and with adequate power handling capacities. Otherwise, speaker may be damaged.
• Do not connect the speakers in parallel.
• Do not connect the terminals of speaker system to the car chassis.
• Do not connect the ground lead of this unit to the negative terminal of the speaker.
• Do not use speakers of impedance less than 4 ohms and do not allow the speaker wires to be shorted together when the unit is switched on, otherwise it may o verload or bu rn out the power amplifier stage.
Caution V olkswagen/A udi and V auxhall owners:
Some vehicles do not follo w the normal ISO wiring conv ention which will cause the unit to lose the radio preset memories each time the ignition switch is turned off. To prevent such occurrences swap over the RED ignition and ORANGE Memory wires in the bullet connectors attached to the wiring harness of the car radio.
Important Note:
• This unit develops high power output to the front speakers. It is ver y important that you confirm the front speakers fitted in your vehicle are capable of handling this power.
• If after directly connecting the unit via the vehicles ISO connector plugs it does not appear to work (fails to power up), disconnect the Orange lead bullet connector and reconnect it to the twin bullet connector socket on the RED wire. Try the unit again it should power up and can be used normally. Note this phenomenon is most frequent in Volkswagen/Audi and Vauxhall vehicles.
For safety reason, no video/TV images are displayed while the vehicle is moving. The video/TV images appear only after you park the car and set the parking brake.
Do not operate the DVD player if it will in any way divert your attention from the safe driving of your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules and abide with all existing traffic regulations. In some countries the viewing of images on a screen by the driver of a vehicle is illegal. Where such regulations apply the unit’ s DVD screen should not be used.
