How to adjust the European adjustable hinges on doors

Shipping may cause doors to go out of alignment. If you find that the doors need to be adjusted
slightly, turn the appropriate screw, as illustrated.

1. TO ADJUST DOOR FORWARD OR BACKWARD.

2. TO ADJUST DOOR TO RIGHT OR TO LEFT.

3. TO ADJUST DOOR UP OR DOWN.

IMPORTANT

Before you begin: Open, identify and count all parts prior to assembly. Lay out parts on a flat and non-

abrasive surface. You will need the parts identified on page 4 and 5 of this instruction manual.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE GLUE WITH DOWELS. EXCESS GLUE CAN BE WIPED

OFF WITH DAMP CLOTH.

Insert Dowel at least half way by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet IF NECESSARY.

CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION

HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS

1. Screw Cam Bolt into the pre-drilled small holes on panel. Connect both panels together; making

sure Cam Bolt goes into pre-drilled hole on the end of panel with Cam Lock.

2. Insert Cam Lock into pre-drilled large hole on panel. Make sure arrow on Cam Lock is pointed toward

Cam Bolt.

3. Once Cam Bolt is connected inside Cam Lock, take a Phillips screwdriver and tighten Cam Lock

clockwise.

4. Plug Cam Cap into the cross slot of the Cam Locks to conceal the cam.

You are now ready to assemble the KD unit.

Assembly Instructions

1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a

carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.

2. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Top Panel (A), Lower Side

Panels (F and G) and Bottom Panel (C) using a Phillips screwdriver, as shown in the illustration.

3. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Center Shelf (B) and the

Partition Panels (J and H) as shown.

4. Insert two Wood Dowels (3) into the inner holes of the Middle Crossbar Assembly (L). Tap it in with a

rubber mallet, if necessary. Make sure that you use a small amount of glue with both ends of all dowels.

5. Align the drilled holes on the Center Shelf (B) with the inserted Wood Dowel (3) on the Middle

Crossbar Assembly (L), and then press them together. Attach the Middle Crossbar Assembly (L) in
place by engaging three Cam Locks (1) (Refer to page 3 on Cam Lock system operation supplement).

6. Align and attach the Middle Left Stile (I) to the Left Lower Partition Panel (H) with two 30 mm Wood

Dowels (3) and three Cam Locks (1).

7. Repeat the same procedure to combine the Middle Right Stile (K) with the Right Lower Partition Panel

(J).

11. Align the large holes on Left Lower Side Panel (F) with the inserted Wood Dowels (3) on the

assembled base. Firmly press them together and fasten it in place by engaging three Cam Locks (1).

12. Repeat last step to attach Right Lower Side Panel (G) at the other end.

14. Insert eight Wood Dowels (3) into the inner holes on the top edge of the Lower Side Panels (F and G)

and Partition Panels (H and J).

15. Ask for assistance to position the Center Shelf (B) onto the inserted Wood Dowels (3) with the middle

crossbar assembly facing forward. Attach the Center Shelf (B) in place by engaging eight Cam Locks
(1).

16. With the pilot holes as a guide, align and attach two Angle Metal Brackets (11) to the front corners of

the assembled base, using four 12 mm Screws (4) per bracket.

23. Fasten the Middle Crossbar Assembly (L) to the Middle Stiles (I and K) by attaching two Straight Metal

Brackets (9) at the joints, using two 12 mm Screws (4) per Bracket.

24. Insert two 25 mm Screws (5) through the countersunk holes on the Middle Stiles (I and K) and securely

screw into the Middle Crossbar Assembly (L) as shown.

25. Pick up the Upper Back Panel (R) and align the pre-drilled holes against the upper long edge with the

pilot holes on the back stretcher of the Top Panel (A). Attach the Back Panel (R) in place using the
provided Washer Head Screws (8).

26. Align and attach two Lower Back Panels (S) to the mantel base with the provided Washer Head Screws

(8).

27. Insert four Shelf Supports (10) into the holes at your desired height inside each side compartment. Tilt

29. Attach one Handle and Back Plate (16) to the front side of each Door (O and P) with the provided

Handle Bolt (17).

30. Pick up the Left Door (O) and attach the extended hinge arms to the hinge bases installed on the Left

Lower Side Panel (F). Loosen the bolt on the back of Hinge Base for an easy fit. Align and insert the
“U” slot on hinge arm under the bolt head on the back of hinge base. Make sure that both door hinges
engage and function properly. Tighten the bolt on the hinge base to lock the hinges in place.

31. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Right Door (P) to the Right Lower Side Panel (G).

32. Open and close the doors to make sure they are aligned and shut correctly. If necessary, adjust the

screws for a good fit. Refer to the hinge sticker on door for adjustment.

33. Stick the Rubber Bumpers (6) on the outer corners of Left and Right Doors (O and P) where they come

in contact with the Lower Partition Panels (H and J).

34. Lift the Fireplace Insert carefully into the back of the assembled mantel and center it in the opening. DO

NOT drag the insert across the Bottom Panel (C) as it may scratch the unit.

(C) by screwing one 12 mm Pan Head Screw (15) in each.

NOTE: You must install the Strip Stopper to prevent the TV from tipping when placing your flat panel

television directly on the console.

36. Remove the paper backing from the Stop Rail (U), then properly align the Stop Rail with the top edge of the

stopper template on Top Panel (A). Press down on the Stop Rail to help adhesion.

37. Carefully remove the stopper template from the Top Panel (A).

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, Power Drill, 3/8” Drill Bit and Rubber Mallet.

38. Ask for assistance to position the assemble fireplace at the desired location against a wall. If necessary,

adjust the pre-attached Floor Levelers at the bottom of the Base to level the unit. Now, follow the
instructions printed on the plastic bag containing the Tipping Restraint Hardware to attach the tip-over
restraints to the unit and the wall.

NOTE: Young children can be seriously injured by tipping furniture. You must install the Tipping
Restraint Hardware with the unit to prevent the unit from tipping, causing any accidents or damage. The
tipping restraint is intended only as a deterrent, they are not a substitute for proper adult supervision.
The tipping restraint is not an earthquake restraint. If you wish to add the extra security of earthquake
restraints, they must be purchased and installed separately.

39. Connect the fireplace to the power transformer. Follow the operating manual for the electric fireplace

insert to control your fireplace.

Care and Maintenance

 Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.
 Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area.
 Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’s finish.
 Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.
 Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.
 Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft, clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing.
 Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create

spotting within the furniture finish.

 Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove.
 In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a

professional to repair your furniture.

 Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.

Further Advice about Wood Furniture Care

It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity
changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from
direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.

Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful
tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.

Clean the metal trim using a soft cloth, slightly dampened with citrus oil based product and buff with a clean
soft cloth. DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim. Citrus
oil based products can be obtained at supermarkets or hardware stores.

A touch-up pen has been provided to repair any small nicks or scratches that may occur during assembly or
shipping.

SISTEMA DE OPERACIÓN DE TUERCA DE FIJACIÓN

CÓMO FUNCIONA LA INSTALACIÓN DE MONTAJE (KD)

1. Fijar los tornillos de fijación en los orificios pequeños. Conectar ambos paneles, cerciorandose que los

tornillos de fijación entren bien y que estos queden en los orificios al final del panel con tuercas de fijación.

2. Inserte las tuercas de fijación en los orificios grandes del panel. Hacer que la flecha en la tuerca este

apuntando hacia la entrada del tornillo de fijación.

3. Una vez que el tornillo este conectado dentro, tome un destornillador de cruz y apriete la tuerca en

dirección de las manecillas del reloj.

4. Coloque la tapa de la tuerca de fijación sobre la misma en la ranura de cruz, ver detalle.

Está listo para el ensamble KD de esta unidad.

1. Desempacar la unidad y confirmar que se tiene todo el material de ferretería y partes requeridas.

Ensamblar la unidad en un piso alfombrado o en el cartón vacío para evitar rasguños.

2. Colocar los tornillos de fijación (2) en los agujeros chicos designados en el panel superior (A), en los

paneles laterales inferiores (F y G) y en el panel inferior (C) usando el desarmador estrella.

30. Tomar la puerta izquierda (O) y adjuntar los brazos de bisagras extendidos a las bases de bisagra

instaladas en el panel lateral izquierdo inferior (F). Aflojar el tornillo detrás de la base para un ajuste
fácíl. Alinear e insertar el espacio “U” en el brazo abajo de la cabeza del tornillo detrás de la base.
Asegurar de que las bisagras de puerta participen y funcionen correctamente. Apretar los tornillos en la
base para trabar las bisagras en su lugar.

31. Repetir el mismo procedimiento para adjuntar la puerta derecha (P) al panel lateral derecho inferior (G).

32. Abrir y cerrar las puertas para asegurar de que esten alineadas y que se cierren correctamente. Si fuera

33. Pegar los topes de plástico (6) en las esquinas exteriores de las puertas (O y P) donde entran en contacto

Herramientas requeridas: Desarmador estrella, taladro, broca de 3/8” y mazo de goma.

38. Pida assistencia para posicionar la chimenea ensamblada en el lugar deseado contra la pared. Si fuera

necessario, ajuste los niveladores de piso pre-adjuntados en la parte inferior de la base para nivelar la
unidad. Ahora, seguir las instrucciones impresas en la bolsa de plástico que contiene el juego de
restricción de movimiento para adjuntar los topes de movimiento a la unidad y a la pared.

NOTA: Niños pequeños pueden resultar lastimados por muebles inclinados. Debe instalar el juego de
restricción de movimiento con la unidad en función, para prevenir la inclinación de la unidad, causando
cualquier accidente o daño. El tope de movimiento es solo un impedimiento, no hay substituto para la
supervision adulta. El tope de movimiento no es contra terremoto. Si deseara añadir la seguridad extra
contra terremotos, deben ser comprados e instalados separadamente.

39. Conectar la chimenea al transformador de poder. Siga el manual de operación para el inserto de

chimenea eléctrica para controlar su chimenea.

Mantenimiento y Cuidados

 Use una toalla suave y limpia para evitar daños y rayaduras.
 Uso de cera para pulir muebles no es necesario. Si desea usar cera, pruebela en un área que no sea visible

para revisar su funcionamiento.

 Usar solventes de cualquier tipo puede dañar el acabado del mueble.
 Nunca use agua para limpiar la unidad, ya que le puede dañar el acabado.
 Siempre utilice protección para vasos cuando los ponga sobre la unidad.
 Líquidos derramados deben limpiarse inmediatamente, con una toalla suave evitando tallar.
 Siempre utilizar protectores en caso de poner cosas calientes. El calor puede provocar una reacción

química en el acabado y dañarlo.

 En caso que su unidad sea manchada durante el uso le recomendamos hablar a un profesional para que le ayude.
 Revisar los pernos y tornillos periódicamente y apriételos si es necesario.

Más recomendaciones para el cuidado de su Mueble

Es mejor mantener la unidad en una área de clima controlado. Temperatura extrema y cambios de humedad
pueden causar cambios como partes pandas, molduras que se contraigan o que la madera se raje. Es
recommendable mantener la unidad lejos del sol directo ya que puede dañar el acabado.
Cuidados adecuados y limpieza pueden extender la vida útil de su unidad. Siga estas recomendaciones y
mantendra su mueble en buenas condiciones de uso por muchos años.

Limpiando el borde de la chimenea

Limpie el borde metálico usando un paño suave, lijeramente humedecido con productos hecho con aceite
cítrico y pulir con un paño suave y limpio. NO usar latón pulido u otros limpiadores caseros porque estos
productos dañaran el borde metálico. Productos hechos de aceite cítrico se pueden obtener en un supermercado
o en una tienda de material de ferretería.

Un plumón de retoque es proveído en caso de pequeñas raspaduras o golpes que sucedan durante el
ensamble o envío.
