How to adjust the European adjustable hinges on doors
Shipping may cause doors to go out of alignment. If you find that the doors need to be adjusted slightly,
turn the appropriate screw, as illustrated.
1. TO ADJUST DOOR FORWARD OR BAC KWARD.

Important
Before you begin: Open, identify and count all parts prior to assembly. Lay out parts on a flat and non-
abrasive surface. You will nee d the pa rts identified on page 4 and 5 of this instr uction manual.
NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE GLUE WITH DOWELS. EXCESS GLUE CAN BE WIPED OFF
WITH DAMP CLOTH.
Insert Dowel at least hal f way by tapping light l y with a rubber mallet IF NECESS ARY.
CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION
HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS
1. Screw Cam Bolt into the pre-drilled small holes on panel. Connect both panels together; making
sure Cam Bolt goes into pre-drilled hole on the end of panel with Cam Lock.
2. Insert Cam Lock into pre-drilled large hole on panel. Make sure arrow on Cam Lock is pointed toward
Cam Bolt.
3. Once Cam Bolt is connected inside Cam Lock, take a Phillips screwdriver and tighten Cam Lock clockwise.
4. Plug Cam Cap into the cross slot of the Cam Locks to conceal th e cam.
You are now ready to assemble t he KD un it.

1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a
carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.
2. Securely screw the Cam B olts (2) into the design ated small holes on the Top Panel (A), the Base (G),
Partition Panels (C and D) and Fixed Shelf (E) by a Phillips screwdriver, as shown in the illustration.

3. Insert two Wood Dowels (3) into the inner holes of Middle Crossbar (F). Tap it in with a rubber mallet,
if necessary. Make sure that you use a small amount of glue with both ends of all d o wels .
4. Align the drilled holes on the Fixed Sh el f (E) with th e inserted Wood Dowel (3) on the Middle Crossbar
(F), and then press them together. Attach the Middle Crossbar (F) in place by engaging three Cam
Locks (1) (Refer to page 3 on Cam Lock system operation supplement).

5. Insert four Wood Dowels (3) into the inner ho le s of Fixed Shelf (E) at both ends.
6. Align and attach the assembled Fixed Shelf (E) between th e Left and Right Partition Panels (C and D)
and fasten it in place by using four Cam Locks (1) as sh o wn.

7. Insert four Wood Dowels (3) into th e bottom inner holes of assembled Partition Panels (C and D) and
attach them to the Base (G) with four 40 mm Screws (5) as shown. Tighten the screws with a Phillips
screwdriver.
8. Insert four Wood Dowels (3) into the inner holes of Side Panels (B) and attach them to the Base (G) by
using four Cam Locks (1).

9. Insert eight Wood Dowels (3) into the top inner holes on the vertical panels (B, C and D). Position the
Top Panel (A) onto the inserted Wood Dowels (3) and fasten it in place with eight Cam Locks (1).

10. Stand the assembled unit upright.
11. Fasten the Middle Crossbar (F) to the stringers of Lower Partition Panels (C and D) by attaching two
Metal Brackets (8) at the joints, using two 12 mm Screws (4) per Bracket.

12. Now, go back and securely tighten all the Cam Locks and Wood Screws. Make sure all the pa rts are
tight and there are no gaps between the pa rts. This will help keep the unit square.
13. Pick up the Center Back Panel (L) and align the pre-drilled holes again st the upper long edge with the
pilot holes on the back stretcher of Top Panel (A). Attach the Center Back Panel (L) in place using the
provided Washer Head Screws (6).
14. Align and attach two Side Back Panels (K) to the backside of assembled frame with the provided
Washer Head Screws (6).

15. Insert eight Shelf Pins (12) into the holes at your desired height inside each side compartment. Tilt and
rest the Adjustable Shelves (J) onto the Shelf Pins (12).
16. Plug the Cam Lock Covers (13) onto the visible cams locks to conceal the cams.

17. Attach the Knob (9) to the outside of each Door (H and I) with the provided Knob Bolt (10).
18. Pick up the Left Door (H) and attach the extended Hinge Arms to the Hinge Bases installed on the Left
Side Panel (B). Loosen the bolt on the back of Hinge Base for an easy fit. Align and insert the “U” slot
on Hinge Arm under the bolt head on the back of Hinge Base. Make sure that both door hinges engage
and function properly. Tighten the bolt on the Hinge Base to lock the hinges in place.
19. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Right Door (I) to the other Side Panel (B).
20. Open and close the doors to make sure they are aligned and shut correctly. If necessary, adjust the
screws for a good fit. Refer to the hinge sticker on door for adjustment.
21. Stick the Rubber Bumpers (11) on the outer corners of Doors (H and I) as sho wn.

22. Lift the Fireplace Insert carefully into the back of the assembled mantel and center it in the opening. DO
NOT drag the insert across the Base (G) as it may scratch the unit.

23. Align and attach the Firebox Support (M) to the Base (G) by screwing two 2” Lag Bolts (7) through the
countersunk holes and screw into place.

NOTE
: You must install the Acrylic TV Stopper to prevent the TV from tipping when placing your flat
panel television directly on the console.
24. Remove the paper backing of acrylic stopper (14), then properly align the acrylic stopper into the cut-out on
the acrylic stopper template on the Top Panel (A). Press down on the acrylic stopper to help adhesion.
25. Carefully remove the acrylic stopper template from the To p Panel (A).

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, Power Drill, 3/8” Drill Bit and Rubber Mallet.
26.
Ask for assistance to position the assemble fireplace at the desired location against a wall. If necessary,
adjust the pre-attached Floor Levelers at the bottom of the Base (G) to level the unit. Now, follow the
instructions printed on the plastic bag containing the Tippin g Restraint Hardware to attach the tip-over
restraints to the unit and the wall.
NOTE: Young children can be seriously injured by tipping furniture. You must install the Tipping
Restraint Hardware with the unit to prevent the unit fro m tipping, causing any accidents or damage. The
tipping restraint is intended only as a deterrent, they are not a substitute for proper adult supervision.
The tipping restraint is not an earthquake re straint. If you wish to add the extra security of e arthquake
restraints, they must be purchased and installe d separately.
27.
Connect the fireplace to the power transformer. Follow the operating manual for the electric fireplace
insert to control your fireplace.

Care and Maintenance
Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.
Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area.
Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’ s finis h.
Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.
Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.
Liquid spills should be remove d immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blo t the spill gently. Avoid rubbing.
Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create
spotting within the furniture finish.
Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove.
In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged durin g use, we recommend that you call a
professional to repair your furniture.
Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.
Further advice about wood furniture care
It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity
changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from
direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.
Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful
tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.
Cleaning trim for fireplace
Clean the metal trim using a soft cloth, slightly dampened with citrus oil based product and buff with a clean
soft cloth. DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim. Citrus
oil based products can be obtained at supe rmarkets or hardware stores.
A Touch-up Pen has been provided to repair any small nicks or scratches that may occur during assembly or
shipping.
