findwithinthebox,howtoconnectyourLCD-TVandhowtouseyourremotetosetupandconfigure
basicoptions.

Unpacking

Toopentheshippingbox,standtheboxuprightandlocatethetwowhiteplasticclipsonthelower
leftandrightendsofthebox.Removethisclipbyreachingbehindtheplasticdoorandunlatching
theclasponthetopedgeoftheclip.Theentireplasticclipshouldcomeouteasily.Liftthetop
halfoftheboxoffoftheLCD-TV.

CarefullyremovetheLCD-TVandothercontentsfromthebox.PlacetheLCD-TVinasafeupright
positionwitheasyaccesstotheconnectorslocatedontherearofthedisplay.

consolidateconnections.Itiscommontoroutetheoutputofyourcamcorder,cablebox(STB),
satellitereceiver(IRD)andpersonalvideorecorder(PVR)throughyourVCRforrecording,editing
andtimeshifting.

Notalldevicesarethesameandmanymayneedadditionalcables,adaptersandsetup.Inparticular,
computers,gameconsoles,high-definitionreceiversandprogressiveDVDplayersmustbeset
accordingly.

ThisLCD-TVhasabuilt-incable-readyNTSCtunerforanalogcableandNTSCbroadcastsingnals.
YoumaychoosetoconnecttheanalogcableorTVantennawire(notincluded)directlytothisLCD-TV
antennainput.

Therearefourtypesofvideoinputs:HDTV(480p,1080i,720ponly),YCbCr(480ionly),S-Videoand
Video.Eachofthesevideoinputshasacorrespondingsetofstereoleftandrightaudioinputs.These
connectorsarecolor-codedtomatchthecolorsofthecorrespondingconnectorsonotherdevicesand
cables.

TheHDTVinputwillonlyaccept480p,1080iand720psignals.

devicessuchasaterrestrialHDTVreceiver,HDsatellitebox,HDcableboxorprogressivescanDVD
player.
TheYCbCr(480ionly)inputwillonlyaccept.Usethistoobtainbettercolorperformance
fromdevicessuchasaDVDplayer.Thebuilt-inscanlogicwillautomaticallyconvert
interlacedDVDtonon-interlaced.
TheS-VideoandVideoinputsareprovidedforusewithdevicessuchasaVCR,satellitereceiver,

TheDVIinput(ormorespecificallyDVI-Dinput)isadigitalinterfacethatrequiresthecomputer
tohaveacorrespondingDVIorDFPoutput.Usingthisinterfaceprovidesasuperioronscreenimage
whenthePCoutputissettothefullnativeresolutionoftheLCDpanel.NeitheraDVIcablenor
DFPadapterisincludedandmustbepurchasedseparately.
TheVGAinputisananalogRGBinterfacewithseparateH&Vsyncsignals.VGAismorecommonly
foundoncomputers.AttachtheLCD-TVtoyourcomputerusingtheincluded(bluecolor-coded)
VGAcable.ThePCaudiocableisnotincludedandmustbepurchasedseparately.

ForboththeDVIandVGAinputs,pleaserememberto

adjustyourcomputerresolutiontomatchthe
1280x768resolutionofthe30"LCD-TVforbestperformance.Anadditionalsoftwaredrivermaybe
requiredfromyourPCgraphicschipvendortoobtainwide-formatresolutionsupport.

Theaudiooutputiscommonlyusedtoconnecttoanexternalaudioamplifierorsurroundsound
processor.
Thesubwooferoutputisusedtoattachanexternalpoweredsubwoofer.
RemembertoenablethisfeaturefromtheAudioMenuoftheLCD-TV.Whenthesubwoofersoftware
commandissettoOn,aninternalcrossovercutsoffthelowfrequencysignaltothebuilt-inspeakers.
WhenthesubwoofersoftwarecommandissettoOff,thebuilt-inspeakerswilloutputfullrangeaudio.

firstpluggedin,youmayhavetowaitseveralsecondsforthereadyindicatortoglowred.Thisis
normal.

CarefullyopentherearcoveronthebatterycompartmentandinsertafreshsetoftwoAAAbatteries.
Replacethebatterycoverontheremote.
TurnontheTVbypressingthePOWERbutton.
Adjustthevolumeusingthevolumeupanddownbuttons,VOL+andVOL-.
Selectavideosourceintwoways.Youmayselectasourcedirectlyusingoneofthebuttonsatthe
buttomofyourremotecontrol:TV,S-VIDEO,AV,PC,DVI,HDTVorYCbCr.Youmayalsoscroll
