WARNING ELECTRICAL SHOCK CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
Read and follow instructions exactly as shown. If instructions are unclear, do not proceed. Contact a qualified electrician. Read all instructions before beginning. Proper wiring is essential for safe operation of this fixture. When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring, gas lines, or water lines. If any of the fixture or wiring components are damaged, do not install fixture. Return to place of purchase.
For fixtures provided with 75° C or 90° C supply wire warning only. (These warnings are provided on the U.L. label and on the fixture carton.) Risk of fire. Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wires rated 60° C. Consult a qualified electrician before installing.
NOTE: For fixture employing a grounded convenience outlet. This fixture employs a grounded type receptacle and is not intended for connection to a two wire ungrounded source of supply.
Applicable only to portable lamps: To reduce the risk of electrical shock, all portable lamps have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully plugged into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug.

MOUNTING, WIRING AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Underwriters Laboratories (UL) does not require all fixtures to have ground wires. These fixtures meet all UL specifications.
1. Turn off power at circuit box to avoid possible electric shock.
2. Attach mounting bar (A) to outlet box (B) with outlet box screws (C)
3. If not pre-assembled; thread hex nut 1 (D1), lock washer (E), hex nut 2 (D2) and screw collar (F) onto mounting nipple (G) making sure you leave at least 1/4 “ space between hex nut 1 (D1) and hex nut 2 (D2).
NOTE: Assemble the entire fixture on the floor. Be sure the canopy (H) (not shown to scale) and the screw collar ring (I) are positioned on the chain (J) as shown in figure 1.
4. To assemble fixture, unfold fixture arms (K) to proper position.
5. Screw center pipe (L) onto the top of the fixture body (M) until snug.
6. Insert side pipe(s) (N) into hole beneath top cover (O), then insert bottom of side pipe(s) (N) into holes in fixture arm(s) (K).
7. Screw fixture loop (P) onto nipple (Q) fixture top cover (O) (if applicable).
8. Install decorative cap (R) beneath fixture plate (S) and secure with ball nut (T).
9. Place glass shade(s) (U) over socket(s) (V) and secure with spacer(s) (W) and retaining ring(s) (X) using tool (Z).
10. Install lamp(s). Do not exceed recommended wattage.
NOTE: It may be necessary, and is recommended, to use two people when attaching the fixture to the mounting bar (A) and completing the wiring and adjustments.
11. Open 1 link on bottom end of chain (J), and attach to fixture loop (P). Securely close loop on chain (J).
12. Determine desired chain (J) length and shorten accordingly. Lace fixture wires up through every other link of chain(J), screw collar ring (I), canopy (H), screw collar (F) and out through top of mounting nipple (G). Attach top of chain (J) to screw collar (F).
13. Hook mounting nipple (G) into opening of mounting bar (A) so that hex nut 2 (D2) sits firmly behind the lip of mounting bar (A) and tighten hex nut 1 (D1) (see inset 1).
14. Connect fixture wires from top of mounting nipple (G) to the outlet box wires with wire connectors (AA) (see inset 2).
15. To connect wires, take black fixture wire (group A from fig. 2 on page 11) and place evenly against black outlet box wire. Do not twist wires.
16. Fit wire connector (AA from fig. 1) overwires and twist until there is a firm connection. If wire connector (AA) easily comes off, reattach wire connector (AA) and check again for a firm connection.
17. Repeat steps 15 and 16 with the white (group B from fig. 2) fixture wire and outlet box wires.
18. Partially thread green grounding screw (BB) into side hole (CC) on mounting bar (A)
19 Wrap ground wire from fixture around green grounding screw (BB) leaving enough excess
wire to then connect ground wire and outlet box wire with wire connector (AA), if applicable.
20. Tighten green grounding screw (BB). Do not over tighten.
21. Tuckwires inside outlet box (B).
22. Raise canopy (H) over outlet box (B) and secure screw collar ring (I) onto screw collar (F) (see insert 2).
NOTE: If adjustment is necessary for proper canopy (H) fit, loosen hex nut 1 (D1) to raise fixture, or loosen hex nut 2 (D2) to lower fixture. Lower or raise mounting nipple (G) accordingly and retighten both hex nut 1 (D1) and hex nut 2 (D2).
23. Turn power back on at circuit box.
