BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Thank you for selecting the WESLO¨540 Adjustable Resistance Rowing Machine. Rowing is one of the most effective exercises known for toning the body, strengthening the muscles, and building the cardiovas­cular system. The WESLO 540 is designed to let you enjoy this effective exercise in the convenience and privacy of your home.
For your benefit, read this manual carefully before you use the WESLO 540. If you have additional ques-
tions, please call our Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-800-999-3756, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mountain Time (excluding holidays).
To help us assist you, please note the product model number and serial number before calling. The model number is WL540030. The serial number can be found on a decal attached to the WESLO 540 below the monitor.
WARNING: Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especial­ly important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. Read all instructions before using. ICON assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by or through the use of this product.
1. Read all instructions in this manual before using the rowing machine. Use the rowing machine only as described.
2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of the rowing machine are ade­quately informed of all warnings.
3. Use the rowing machine indoors, on a level
surface, away from moisture and dust. Place a mat under the rowing machine to protect the floor or carpet.
4. Inspect and tighten all parts of the rowing
machine regularly. Replace worn parts imme­diately.
5. Always tighten the seat knob before lifting or
moving the rowing machine. If the seat knob
is not tightened, the seat could slide, result­ing in injury.
6. Keep children under 12 and pets away from the rowing machine at all times.
7. Wear appropriate clothing when exercising. Always wear athletic shoes for foot protection.
8. Keep your hands away from moving parts.
9. If you experience dizziness or pain at any time while exercising, stop immediately and begin cooling down.
10.The rowing machine is intended for in-home use only. Do not use the rowing machine in a commercial, rental, or institutional setting.
1. Insert two new ÒAAÓ batteries (not included) into the Monitor (15). Alkaline batteries are recommended. Make sure that the batteries are turned as shown inside the Monitor.
Insert the two tabs on the Monitor (15) into the slots near the front end of the Rail (2). Attach the Monitor to the Rail with the Monitor Screw (14).
2. Attach the Seat (23) to the Seat Bracket (24) with the four Seat Screws (37). Note: The thickest part of the Seat is the back. The Seat can be turned so the Seat Knob (27) is on either the left or right side of the Seat.
3. Pull the Rail Cap (6) out of the back end of the Rail (2). Remove the M8 Nylon Locknut (9), the Seat Stops (5), and the Seat Stop Bolt (4) from the back end of the Rail.
Roll the Seat (23) onto the Rail (2). Make sure that the thickest part of the Seat is at the back.
Reattach the Seat Stop Bolt (4), the Seat Stops (5), and the M8 Nylon Locknut (9) to the Rail (2). Press the Rail Cap (6) back into the Rail.

ASSEMBLY
Place all parts of the rowing machine in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Read each step carefully before beginning.
ASSEMBLY REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING TOOLS (NOT INCLUDED): An adjustable wrench and a phillips screwdriver .
