WARRANTY
This Soup Cooker manufactured by Wells is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a
period of one year from the date of original installation and is for the benefit of the original purchaser only but is not
warranted against damage caused by abuse, faulty installation, including improper electrical connection. THIS
WARRANTY IS THE COMPLETE AND ONLY WARRANTY, THERE BEING NO OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED IN LAW OR IN FACT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO , WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND/OR FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES IN CONNECTION WITH WELLS PRODUCTS.
Wells' obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair of defects or replacement without charge by a WELLS
factory authorized service agency or one of its sub-service agencies. This unit is a carry-in item.

INTRODUCTION
This commercial. Soup Cooker Model 6423 is designed to cook soup (frozen or canned) and hold finished product at
the correct temperature for serving. Soup Cooker to be used for wet operation only.
SAFETY
Knowledge of proper installation, operation and maintenance procedures is essential to insure safe operation of any
equipment. The instructions in this chapter are meant as guidelines; major considerations to be kept always in mind
are:
1. Use dry hands to turn control knob to ON or OFF position.
2. Turn off power switch anytime Soup Cooker is not in use.
3. If an electric shock is felt when touching the cabinet, disconnect immediately. Call an Authorized Service Agency
for repair.
4. Have electrical supply outlet installed by a licensed electrician. Make sure that equipment is properly grounded.
5. If you find that the electrical cord is frayed, DO NOT PLUG INTO A RECEPTACLE.
If it is already plugged in, disconnect the plug after shutting off the circuit breaker.
6. DISCONNECT POWER CORD BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIRS AND/OR CLEANING THE UNIT WITH
WATER.
7. Allow unit to cool before cleaning.
8. DON'T EVER SPLASH WATER WITH A HOSE OR OTHERWISE ONTO THE UNIT. WET ELECTRICAL COMĀPONENTS AND WIRING MAY PRESENT A SHOCK HAZARD.
9. DON'T REMOVE SCALE FROM PAN WITH A SHARP KNIFE - FOLLOW EQUIPMENT CLOSING
PROCEDURES DESCRIBED ON PAGE 6 OF THIS MANUAL.

ORDERING/SERVICE PROCEDURE:
Use only genuine replacement parts in this soup cooker. The use of replacement parts other than those supplied by
Wells Manufacturing Company voids the warranty. To find the items required to restore proper operation to the
soup cooker proceed as follows:
1. Refer to the exploded views located in this manual to identify the parts needed.
2. Use the item's number from the exploded views to locate the corresponding parts in the parts identification
section.

3. Service parts are available through an Authorized Service Agency, refer to the Warranty Statement and
Service Agency Listing, provided with every unit. Be prepared to give the Model and Serial Numbers of your
soup cooker, as well as the problem and the troubleshooting steps already taken, to the service technician
when calling for assistance.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove Model 6423 Soup Cooker from carton and check for damage. If there is any concealed damage, notify
carrier immediately. Save the carton and packaging material. The carrier's adjuster will want to see it. You may void
the claim by not having it.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Equipment Set-up Procedures:
1. Fill cooker well with a maximum of 32 Oz. (1.0 liters) of hot tap water. (Filling the well with hot water will
decrease the time required to bring the cooker up to full temperature).
2. Plug power cord into appropriate electrical receptacle (for 120V models 120 VAC, 15 AMP, and for 240V
models 240 VAC).
3. Turn thermostat knob clockwise to "COOK" position on label. Allow at least 15 minutes for water bath to
preheat. Cover with lid to retain the hot water.
4. Place stainless steel inset into cooker well.
5. Place soup contents (frozen or canned) into inset. Follow soup manufacturers instructions for mixing soup.
Cover inset with cover provided.
NOTE: During time when soup is cooking, occasionally stir contents (about every 10 minutes). (see
manufacturer's specifications)
6. When soup has reached the proper temperature (see manufacturer's specifications) turn thermostat knob
counterclockwise to middle of "SERVE" position on label.
7. Stir soup occasionally when unit is in the "SERVE" mode. (see manufacturer's specifications) NOTE: DO NOT
PIACE FOOD DIRECTLY IN COOKER WELL. USE WITH INSET ONLY.
Operation Hints:
1. Always keep inset covered, this will keep soup hot and reduce your operating cost.
2. Always run unit with water in cooker well.
3. Occasionally stir soup gently.
4. Never place food directly into cooker well, use an inset.
5. Never let soup come to a boil.
6. Make sure power source is 120V, 15 amp service for 120V models.
7. Make sure power source is 240 VAC service for 240V models.
