Weiss - On Power Li-Ion Polymer Batteries User Manual

Manual for rechargeable Lithium-Ionen / Li-Ion Polymer Batteries.
Thank you for purchasing a weiss battery! To ensure safe use please read this manual thoroughly and keep it at hand for later use. The provided information should help you using the battery pack and indicating risks for you, your device and third parties. Failure to comply may cause the risk of overheating, of fire, of explosion and leakage of hazardous liquids.
Safety instructions
- Battery packs may be charged with a compatible device only!
- When transporting a battery pack always cover the electrical contacts with dielectric material to avoid short circuit!
- Do not short circuit the electrical contacts (plus and minus pole)!
- Do not try to repair, disassemble or modify the battery pack in any way!
- Do not store a battery pack in places of high humidity, high temperatures or in dusty places. Also avoid contact with liquids (rain, dew, steam and others). Do not charge or use a wet
battery pack!
- Do not throw a battery pack into the fire! Do not incinerate it! Keep it away from heat sources!
- Do not use, charge or store a battery pack in places where high temperature can occur (direct sunlight on the windowsill or in a car e. g.)!
- Avoid contact with liquids that leak from the battery pack! It may cause injury. Contact with eyes may cause blindness! Do not rub your eyes – wash them out with clear water and
contact a doctor/ambulance immediately!
- Always mind the polarity when placing the battery pack into a device! If it does not exactly fit into your device, do never try to force it in!
- Swallowing a battery pack is extremely dangerous! If a battery pack is swallowed contact a doctor/ambulance immediately!
- Protect the battery pack against shock and vibration, high weight-loading and other potential damaging influence.
- When noticing any malfunction or trouble – like leakage of liquids, color change, deformation or odor – during operation, immediately disconnect the battery pack from any power
supply! Isolate the affected device including the battery pack! Remove any flammable material surrounding it! Provide good ventilation and try to transport it outside (only if it is possible without threatening third parties)!
- Avoid skin contact with damaged battery packs!
- Keep the battery pack away from heat sources, especially when liquids are leaking out! The liquids inside the battery pack are flammable and volatile!
- Do not leave the battery pack unattended while charging!
- Do not put the battery pack into a microwave oven or a pressure vessel!
- Use the battery pack with compatible devices and chargers only! Using it in other devices is extremely dangerous!
- If spilled liquids reach the skin wash it out with plenty of clear water immediately and take off any contaminated clothing! Contact a doctor / ambulance!
- If charging is not completed within the expected time the process must be interrupted. Failure to comply may cause the risk of overheating, of fire, of explosion and leakage of hazardous
liquids.
- Tape over the battery pack´s electrical contacts before dropping it at a recycling collecting point.
- The battery pack may get hot while operating. To avoid burns it should not be removed from the device right after use but a few minutes later.
- Do not place the battery pack on instable or wobbly surfaces. Dropping it may cause damages and injury.
- Do not charge the battery pack in extreme temperatures! The recommended environmental temperature for charging is between 10°C and 40°C / 50°F and 104°F.
- Using the battery pack in a very cold environment may cause a loss of capacity.
Precautions for use Battery level at time of purchase
The battery pack is not fully charged when leaving the factory. It has to be charged completely after purchase. The battery pack has also to be charged after not using it for a long period of time.
Operating temperature
The operating temperature range is the same that applies to your device. Please refer to your device´s manual. Using the battery pack in a very cold environment may cause a loss of capacity. Transporting the battery pack heat insulated can avoid that loss. Do not store a battery pack together with other items.
Care and cleaning
Check if the electrical contacts are clean before every use. Unclean contacts may hinder operation and charging. Use a dry and lint-free cloth to clean the contacts. Do not use a wet cloth, alcohol or other substances.
Battery life
By charging and discharging the battery pack´s capacity will be reduced. When service time has shortened significantly we recommend replacing the battery pack. Depending on charging and operation conditions the battery pack´s capacity will be halved after about 500 cycles.
Transport and storage
Do not leave the battery pack in a device or charger for too long. Even if the device or charger is turned off a small amount of electrical current flows and reduces the battery pack´s performance. Store the battery pack in a cool and dry place (optimum lies between 15°C and 25°C / 59°F and 77°F and not more than 85% humidity). Do not store or transport the device with other (especially metallic) items. Failure to comply may cause the risk of overheating, of fire, of explosion and leakage of hazardous liquids.
Battery recycling
Please take care of a proper disposal of the battery pack. Do not dispose it with the domestic waste – this will seriously harm the environment. Please refer to the valid law of your country.
