This step will teach your loc k the orientation of your door and is cruci al to lock operation.
Install 4 AA bat teries in battery pack. Make sure the door is op en, and
insert the batte ry pack.
After a few seconds , the latch bolt will retract and exten d on its own to learn the orientatio n of the door. This is called the door handin g process, and it i s crucial to lock operation.
If the touchscreen i ndicates a failure make sure that the cables are conne cted, the batteries are insta lled correctly, and attempt this proce dure again.
If the door handin g process is still unsuccessful af ter a second attempt, per form the “Manual Door Handing ” procedure on page 4.

If you wish to unlock the window, you can slide it up for more convenient access to the programming buttons while the cover is installed.
To unlock the window, remove the security screw.
The window on the interior cover is locked by default to prevent someone from tampering with your lock's settings.

During progra mming, if the screen is not pre ssed for 20 seconds, th e system will time out (indicate d by three beeps and the “X” pat tern lashing three times), an d you will need to restart the pro cedure.
It is recommen ded that you add and delete a ll user codes through your sma rt home control system . If your system does not allow th is, codes may be added direc tly to the lock as shown here.

SecureScree n is an added-secu rity feature that displays ran dom digits before you en ter a user code to unl ock the door. This feature ensures that th ere are ingerprints o n all digits so that co des cannot be ident iied by examining the to uchscreen for ing er prints.
Each user cod e must be a unique code be tween 4 and 8 digits, dep ending on your smart home system.
*Beeping s ound will only be heard if sw itch #3 (on the lock interior) is in th e on positon. See “Sw itches and Status LED Col ors” on page 4.
Mastercode
For enhanced securit y, a mastercode may be used when addin g and deleting user codes. For more information about the mastercode, download the Programming and Troubleshooting Guide on the Obsidian pag e at www.weiserlock.com.

Add the lock to your smart home system
Initiate the process to ad d the lock to your system at your smart home cont roller. Refer to your smart ho me system instructions for more information.
When prompted by your sm art home system to add the lock, press but ton “A” on the lock interior one tim e. The red LED will illuminate when th e lock enters Add Mode.
If successful, re -name the lock in your system (if applicable).
If unsuccessful , follow your system's instructions to remove the lock from the control ler and any other network, then pres s button “A” on the lock one time.
Perform steps 6A6C a gain.

A factory reset w ill delete all codes as sociated with the lock , and it will remove it from your sma rt home system.

3. Re mind all family members of safet y precautions.
4. Protect your us er codes and mastercode.
5. Di spose of used batteries ac cording to local laws and regulation s.
CAUTION: Prevent unauthorized entry. Since anyone with access
to the back panel can change the user codes, you must restrict access to the back panel and routinely check the user codes to ensure they have not been altered without your knowledge. The use of a mastercode can help protect your system’s settings.

complete security by itself. This lock may be defeated by forcible or technical means, or evaded by entry elsewhere on the property. No lock can substitute for caution, awareness of your environment, and common sense. Builder’s hardware is available in multiple performance grades to suit the application. This product i s a security enable d Z-wave Plus product and must be used with a Se curity Enabled ZWave controlle r to be fully utilized. ZWave is a “Wire less mesh network ,” and results may vary based on b uilding construc tion and communicati on path.
To assure interoperabi lity, each ZWave product must pass a stringent confo rmance test to assure that i t meets the ZWave standard for comple te compliance with all oth er devices and con trols. The ZWave identity mark a ssures consumers , integrators, deale rs and manufacturer s that their products will re liably perform with a ny other ZWave device. Removing the lock from the network
Follow your smart h ome system’s instructi ons to remove the lock from t he network. When prompted by the sys tem, press button A” on the lock interior once.

Network InformationLow Battery
If the 4 AA batte ries are too low to operate the l ock, use a 9Volt Alkalin e battery to temporaril y power the touchscreen .
Make sure both termi nals on the 9Volt batter y touch the terminals at the b ottom of the touchscre en. Hold the 9Volt in place while en tering your user code to un lock the door. Continue hol ding the 9Volt in positio n until the Checkmark symbol illumin ates and the door unlo cks.
